Dietary Supplements
Question: dietary supplements? okay so these vitamins i bought say that if you take 9 a day it will be a dietary supplement. is a dietary supplement the same as taking a diet pill? and will it help loose weight?
-thanks for your time!
Answer: Dietary supplement are not the same as diet pills. I think when you are talking about " diet pills " you mean fat burning pills that speed up your metabolism, like Hydroxicut or Alli. The vitamins that you bought will supplement your diet and make sure you are getting all of the nutrients that you need, helping your immune system and giving you more daily energy, but they won't help you lose weight.
Question: Dietary supplements..? I've been working out and eating right but losing weight has been a very slow process. Has anyone had any luck with a dietary supplement? Which ones work and have the least side effects?
Answer: Don't do it. Maybe you don't need to lose weight as much as you think you do. Maybe you're overlooking something in your diet plan that isn't working for you.
Dietary supplements can really mess up your metabolism...permanently. I took them when I was 16 to lose 20 lbs in a month and they ruined me for life. I'm 32 now and I have to work SO hard to lose anything. I can do what most people do to lose and I still gain weight. If I do what most people do to maintain I gain upwards of 6 lbs a month.
Really. The side effects are more than rapid heart rate, difficulty breathing and possible heart attack. They are lasting and it's SO NOT WORTH IT.
That said, the best weight loss supplement is good ol' H2O
Question: What dietary supplements are good for getting ripped and shredded? I have cut carbs completely out of my diet and I do cardio. Are there any dietary supplements that can help me get ripped.

Answer: if your question is in regards to weight loss then the only product i've ever seen work is clenbuterol
if it's to gain size then i'm sorry but you have to go the needle
all the rest are 2% effect and 98% rip off
Question: are dietary supplements necessary for muscle gains in weightlifting? Do you have to take dietary supplements such as protein shakes, or stuff that gives you extra energy, such as musclemilk, or creatine, or any other type of supplement?
Will supplements help you see better results and help you push harder in the gym because you have more energy?
Or can you just eat a good diet of regular foods.
Answer: No, you just have to work hard. Taking in energy isn't going to transform your body into jacked muscles. However, to take in energy for working out, you do want a good, balanced meal. If you're running short on time, or decide last minute to run to the gym, THEN chow down on an energy bar or protein shake.

Question: How effective for some medicine or some dietary supplements to put under the tongue instead of swallowing it? Some medicine and dietary supplements are being consumed by putting them under the tongue. How effective is this rather than swallowing them the usual way?

Question: How should i take my dietary supplements? I recently bought my son some dietary supplements and was recomended that he take two daily. should he be taking the two at once, or take the two seperatly throughout the day?
Answer: It would depend on the kind of supplements.
Vitamins cannot be absorbed by the body unless they come with the food in which they are. So just popping vitamins without eating that kind of food, will just create very expensive pee.
Some vitamins need others to be absorbed and some vitamins cannot interact with others and cancel each other out.
Some mineral will need some vitamins to be properly absorbed (like calcium and vitamin D).
What you eat and when you eat will depend on how and when you will be taking your supplements.
Question: What are some dietary supplements that help mental processes (memory, concentration, etc.)? I've been looking for a dietary supplement that is proven to increase concentration, focus, memory, thought, etc.
I've seen some things around the internet, but I don't believe most of them. And some of the supplements are CRAZY expensive ($120+)
Could you give me a list of some of the best and proven mental capacity increase supplements?
I was also looking at Centrum Performance, but I think that's more of a physical than mental supplement.
Thanks.
Answer: the best thing to do is introduce plenty of oily fish to your diet, such as salmon and tuna. also, gingko biloba is fantastic for the brain!! they both work and are not expensive in the least.
Question: Is it dangerous to take Kelp supplements and dietary supplements at the same time? I'm taking "Nature's Own Hair, Skin & Nails" dietary pills, and about to get some Kelp supplements.
So I wanted to know if it'd be bad to take both at the same time?
They're mainly for hair growth.
And if it's a bad idea to take both at the same time, which one would be better?
Answer: No problem whatever. Kelp supplements and dietary supplements are totally compatible.
Mixing prescription medications can be dangerous unless you get the OK from a doctor.

Question: are there any good places on the web to research dietary supplements? so im getting back into the workout swing again but id rather not put anymore b-s into my body then needed. im not a big fan of cheap crap like creatine and ephedra and things of that nature that increase heart rate and blood pressure and/or that give a false sense of strength. so far i havent found any good sites on the net that have a compendium (of sorts) with all of the junk they have in sports and dietary supplements these days. i know its not all short cuts and false results, but a lot is and im just trying to figure out what is and isnt. somehow ive managed to avoid heart problems and other problems that come with my size (6'1 325) and smoking and drinking problems so i really dont need my supplement to give me that extra lil push over the edge. haha. any help would be great.
also, if anyone has tried any supplements to any success feel free to reccomend. thanks a bunch.
Answer: actually creatine and ephedra are 2 of the few supplements proven to work...even though they both get bad raps.
A good healthy diet is the main ingredient...check out my source for pre and post workout supplements
Question: What medicines and dietary supplements have a reaction with Lamiktal Or Lexapro? currently i am taking 20 milligrams of lexapro and 200 milligrams of lamiktal
(a antidepressant and mood stabilizer.)
i'm looking to lose a LOT of weight that i put on because i was on Seroquel, and gained a lot of weight
and i'm gonna go and try to pick up some dietary supplements, or diet pills
but i was wondering if any diet or weight loss pills have any reactions to lamiktal or lexapro?
Answer: First off, the above "acai" berry thing is a scam don't waste your time and money
second, you really shouldn't ask yahoo answers about whether or not a medicine will interact with an antidepressant. That's extremely dangerous, especially when your talking about pills that cause heart attack and strokes. If you choose to use a diet pill at all, please consult your doctor.
Question: Is it ok to take dietary supplements while fasting? I am on a 7 day water fast. If I were to take dietary supplements (such as Hydroxy cut) and I know about it being recalled... that's not my point. I was just curious if it would disturb the fasting process, such as the detoxification.
Any advice on this would be great
Thanks.
Answer: I would not do that. Hydroxycut is very dangerous. It speeds up your metabolism and if your not eating that is not a good mix. You should take vitamins and water.
Question: Do dietary supplements cause any digestive problems when used for long periods of time? I am focusing on the idea that if you take a dietary supplement, such as vitamin E or something, daily for several years, does your digestive system become dependent on the supplement.
Meaning that, if you stop taking it will your stomach and digestive tract be able to derive the vitamins or nutrients from the normal food you eat.
Answer: yes it does
Question: Do I need to take any dietary supplements? I've decided to completely eliminate red meat from my diet and I would like to know if I should take any dietary supplements?
Answer: beans/rice/corn bread make a complete amino acid.
there are other foods that work in combination - it is important to study diet/food combos if you do not then you can take a liquid vitamin B supplement that you can buy at Walgreen's - not that expensive.
there are leafy veggies that are very high in fiber and amino acids.
