Ginseng
Question: ginseng ,? where find
Answer: Fresh ginseng root is not readily available in the US. Try Asian grocery stores or herbal shops. Ginseng powder or tablets/pills are readily available in most shops that sell vitamins (try even Walmart!). Otherwise health food stores & places like GNC will defintely have the tablets/pills.
I am not sure where you are located, but I am sure if you did a google/yahoo search you find many online sources as well.
Question: Is ginseng root really good for improving sexual verility in men? I was recently visiting Korea, and the men there believe ginseng root is good for sexual potency in men. I also noticed that the ginseng products (tea, candies, drinks) are all extremely expensive. Seems to me that it's just a superstition, which the notoriously money-hungry Koreans use as an excuse to sell useless stuff. Anyone have the facts on ginseng's real qualities (if any)?
Answer: Ginsing does have factors for it and the best comes from Korea.
It contains:
Panaquilon (stimulant of internal secretions)
Panaxin (central organ, heart and blood vessel stimulant)
Panacene (stimulant of medulla centers and relaxant of nervous system)
and Panaxic acid (promotes metablosim and relaxes heart and artery movements)
Plus:
Amylase and phenolase (enzymes), vitamins B1 and B2, schingenin and saponins.
Some herbalists feel it is best when taken with gotu kola (fo-ti-tieng).
There is something there, but it is hard to separate the fact from the fantasy
Question: How do I get ginseng out of my system before drug screening? Athletes at my school are tested for ginseng and high amounts of caffeine. If you are caught with either in your system you are kicked out of sports for a year. How do I get the ginseng and caffeine out of my system quickly?
Answer: What for "Ginseng" or "Caffeine"; I suppose if you are full on Varsity, CIF and college bound...
PS, have your parent REFUSE to allow you to take any test, tell them that you want YOUR private doctor to run a check up on you ONLY! YOUR doctor does NOT have to disclose anything... And consider to have your parents contact the school district for privacy information being attempted to be included into your personal record ( You are in school, NOT JAIL )

Question: What is the best way to market my ginseng root? I'm planting a revolving crop of ginseng and I'd like to know the best way to sell. I'm still far away from my first crop but I'd still like to make contacts.
Answer: Check out your local farmer's market. There's normally someone from local government in charge of that and s/he will be able to tell you how to set up a tent to sell your wares.
In my county two cities nearby have their Farmer'sMarket on separate days so that the farmers can sell their goods two days a week.
Once you have a local customer base, your name will spread with your good reputation and you can branch out from there
You will discover that many vendors at Farmer's Markets sell locally AND via their website.

Question: where can ginseng plants be found at this time of year? Me and my friend had seen how much you can sell ginseng for and we decided wed liek to look for some. We live in a very foresty area so chances are there might be some. Can anyone tell me where the general location of ginseng is?
Answer: Caroline is right, but alot of it is grown commercially in of all place but here in Canada, when I was young and we went to visit an Aunt out of town, we would drive by these fields with wooden covers on them, my mother told us they were mushrooms or the stuff they make aspirin with, years later after dating a girl who's family raised ginseng did I know what the really were.
It is a rizhome like ginger, strawberries and potatos, even grass is a rizhome. It is picked here and shipped back to Asia, mostly China and dried, some for 20 years and the sold back us here, I go to Chinatown in my city, Toronto ON and they sell pieces by the pound ranging from $6.00 C to $300 C for 1 pound of 20 yrs old aged ginseng, I worked with a European chef, claimed it was what kept him young he would buy a $15 piece and soak it in a bottle of brandy, had 1 shot before bed, he was in his late 50's when I knew him but he look no older than a 40 yr old man, I have tried different things but never got much out of it, like vitamins it works on some people not on others.
We produce almost 40% of the commercially raised ginseng in the world here in Canada.

Question: Does anyone know where I can find a field guide for harvesting ginseng? I am looking to start hunting ginseng when the season comes in. Anyone have any hints, tips, or stories to share with me? I live in Ohio and would like to make a little money selling it. Where is the best place to sell it?
It is NOT illegal. Please no hippy tree huggers.
Answer: Its illegal because its an endangered species, and trying to harvest it often results in damaging the roots, which renders them useless medicinally (they will mildew, etc) and makes them impossible to sell.
So just leave 'em in the ground where nature intended, k?

Answer: Vodka or brandy, Rum and Tequila have to strong a taste, I macerate a $40 piece(s) in a 750 ml French or US brandy, you let it steep for 3-4 weeks in a dark cupboard to have the ginseng open up and get the true value, and you can use up to 2-3 times.
