Hcg
Question: hCg-------? I had a miscarriage back in July of 2007. At 8wk5dys, my hCg level was 4600. The next day, 8wks6days, it was 4198. Miscarriage. So, I know I'm very well capable of producing hCg.
I'm 4 days late on my period. LMP was 6|11|08. My periods are irregular [33days], so the day of my estimated arrival of AF [7|14], I would be [if I am] almost 5wks. I took two EPT's 2 days ago & both negative. Went to the dr yesterday - had bloodwork done. Shld get results by Tues.
But my question is: Since I know I can produce the hormone, as I did in my previous pregnancy, if I were pregnant now [5wks1dy], wouldn't the hormone be more than obvious [show up on tests]? Or do hCg sprouts vary w/ each pregnancy?
Thanks in advance!
W/ my last pregnancy, I got a dark + at 6.5wks.
It was an HPT.
Answer: I believe it does vary with each pregnancy. Your body was officially changed forever after the miscarriage. It handles hormones differently now. And now, a year later, your body might just be acting differently to how it was last year.
I would say wait a week and test again. What kind of HPT were you using? Was it First Response or Answer? The regular kind not the digital kind? I believe those are the most sensitive.
I was pregnant in May/June of 2007. I got a positive 2 days before my period was even due and I had a blood test. My HCG at about 70, then quickly dropped to 27, then 14, then 3. over a week. (Miscarriage)
January I got pregnant again. It took me two weeks after my period was due to get a positive on even the most sensitive test so, below a 25... and then suddenly was shooting up into the hundreds and thousands and doubling like blazes. I was stunned!!!
It was completely different with this pregnancy. And, it might be with you as well. As I said, I would suggest testing again but you get the blood test results on Tuesday so, that wont be needed. BUT... call them on Monday and bug them a little over the phone. I drove them crazy at my docs office the second time because I was dying to know but they did get the results in earlier then they expected.
Question: hCG!!!???? im due on today.. the 6th.. and i have no signs of AF yet, no cramps no nothing, if AF doesnt sh ow up, it will have been the 2nd period ive missed in a row!
(i was meant to come on on the9ths july..but didnt) ive tested with HPT's good ones too, but they are negative, my friend has told me that not all women produce enough hCG to show on a hpt...she was one of them that didnt get a positive till she was 12 weeks, ive booked a docs app for 15th but just wondered what you lot think?
i had some cramps a few weeks ago, low down, ive been REEEEALLY moody and emotional, ive got very veiny boobs..they look like road maps lol, im peeing alot at the moment..but then im drinking much more fluids as its very hot over here, i keep braking out ever few days (which is the worst thing lol) im tired non stop...
all seems very odd to me!
i am not doing anything differently, and im under no stress...
what do you think?
thanks!
x
Answer: It isn't that uncommon for HPT to come back negative for a good while into a pregnancy. You need to go and get a blood test done as the HCG levels are picked up much easier in blood tests.
Sounds to me like you are up the duff my dear Congratulations

Question: How much hCg is needed to detect pregnancy in the body? How much hCg is needed to detect pregnancy in the body. I will be turning 3 weeks tomorrow is that too early?
Answer: 5 or more, but most home pregnancy tests detect 10-25, blood tests will pick up less
Question: HCG levels are down after miscarriage, when did your period start? I have been taking preg. tests to see the how fast HCG levels were decreasing after my miscarriage. Finally it looks like my pregnancy tests are negative, I'm wondering how soon my period will start? I miscarried on July 12 and it took about 12 days for my preg. test to be close to negative. Any past experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.
Answer: Im sorry for loss hun,i had a miscarrige on april the 20th and my period started on may the 8th,
Some take longer to appear be guided by your body
Question: how long after a miscarriage and hcg level drop will I start my period? I had a ms on the 16th of march and my hcg has been back to normal since the 22nd. How long will it be before I ovulate? Have a period? Is it true im more fertile now?
Answer: Hi
Im sorry for your lost. I miscarried my angel baby feb 15 and Im yet to get my first menstrual. I dont want it either seeing as though we are actively trying. Baby dust to you and good luck.
Question: What level of HCG do the dollar store tests have? I took it a couple days after my missed period(negative), but now its 4 days going on 5. Is the HCG level in the dollar store tests higher to detect making it harder? Where should my level of HCG be and what level test should i take now being 5 days late?
Answer: at five days late if you were pregnant you would get a positive. the only other thing you could do it take a blood test. i order early pregnancy tests that you can test starting 7 days past ovulation from earlypregnancytests.com and i found out that i was pregnant 5 days past ovulation so i didn't have to wait to see if my period was late. i am now 6 weeks pregnant we had been trying for so long some months i could have swore i was pregnant but it was all in my head. i finally conceived using ovulation test strips and found out that i was ovulating a lot later than i thought so we were completely missing the boat.
Question: What are the hcg levels like typically after vanishing twin syndrome? I had a miscarriage. My hCG level has gone from strongly positive to faintly, barely positive with an early detection first response test after my miscarriage. Some suggest it could be VTS. But how could it be if the HCG levels are so low and declining? I had heavy bleeding during my miscarriage for 5 days and passed grey and brown tissue and experienced a lot of pain.
Answer: I lost a twin to VTS about 5 weeks ago. My levels were never tested after I lost the twin, but from what I have read, the levels don't decrease they just don't continue to go up as fast as they did with twins. I didn't have any signs or symptoms of a miscarriage, but I was told that I might. Did they not do an ultrasound to check things? We found out that one of the babies had stopped developing during a follow-up ultrasound. The other baby was still there and growing right on schedule. My advice would be to phone your doctor and ask them. Maybe there will do a scan and see if anything is still in there. Good luck.
Question: What is the best way to inject hcg for weight loss? I just ordered some hCG for my weight loss protocol but im not sure what im doing here, has anyone got any tips.
Answer: Where did you buy it from?
Most people inject in the butt but you can also get hcg that you put under your tongue which is much easier.
You can find the injection method here - http://www.youtube.com/user/tawdry2some
and more information about the hcg diet and weblogs can be found here - http://www.drugdelivery.ca/hcg-challenge.aspx
i hope this helps.
Question: What is the difference between BHCG and HCG Levels? I've been reading a lot about pregnancy bloodwork online and have been seeing a lot of talk about BHCG and HCG Levels. Can anyone tell me the difference between them, what they are and what our normal numbers when pregnant?
Answer: BHCG is the level of HCG present in your blood--i.e. what a blood pregnancy test would show. The levels in your urine are likely to be lower, therefore you will show a + blood test before you would have a + urine test.
Question: How long does it take HCG injection to clear your system? I had an HCG 10,000 iu 8 1/2 days ago. I just took a pregnancy test and it showed negative. Is it possible for the HCG to clear out of your system that fast?
Answer: yes it is, but every woman is different i took 4 days to clear a 1000iu shot. but normally it would be gone in 3.
if you are testing negative the shot is gone. i was testing and getting very faint positives up until my blood test which was a negative my 1st cycle of ivf.
it was a true positive my 2nd one.
Question: What does it mean that Hcg are rising but the embryo is not growing? Early in the prenancy I experienced spotting (appx 6 weeks), after consulting the doctor they called me in for an ultrasound. The ultrasound results showed a yoke sack no fetal pole, the conclusion was it appeared to be an early pregnancy (appx 4 weeks). Doctors ordered hcg level checks each one showed a rise in levels. An additional ultrasound was ordered about two weeks later, and there was still just a yoke sac. I was then taken for more blood work which proved a huge increase in hcg levels from about 8,000 to about 19,000. Is there any information that anyone has, since the doctors are not offering to much? Keep in mind that spotting did continue.
Answer: hey, my friend experienced somthing like this about 8 weeks into her pregnancy. she went for her scan at 12 weeks and the doc said the embryo had not grown since 8 weeks even though her hcg levels were up. she too had to go back a week later for another ultrasound and still nothing. unfortunately she had had a missed miscarriage, she then had to undergo like a termination to expel the fetus. this may not be the case with you though, just sharing my experince. hope everything goes well. xx
Question: Any explaination as to why HCG would rise, other then the pregnancy is progressing? I had some spotting and my HCG went down a bit (140 to 109 but using different labs?) and then went quickly up to 441. Ectopic has been rulled out. I am just wondering if anything else could cause the HCG to go back up or is it a good indicator that the pregnancy is progressing?
Answer: It is usually not a good sign when the HCG level drops, but since different labs did the test something could have been messed up. I would say since your level is rising there is nothing to worry about, especially since ectopic has been ruled out. If I were you I would just take it easy until you are past 12 weeks, that is usually when the chance of miscarriage dramatically decreases. Good luck!
Question: How long does HCG take to rise after implantation? I had af cramps at 8 and 9 dpo which I am hoping where implantation cramps. I read somewhere however that after implantation occurs is takes about 4 days for HCG to kick in and then start to rise. Does anyone know how correct this is or know anyting different to this. I am currently at 12dpo and the cramps have stopped. I did not have any signs of implantation bleeding and I am showing - on a hpt.
Answer: I started getting a pink discharge on 8dpo and a brown discharge on 11dpo off and on. I'm now 12dpo and my cramps have stopped as well. Symptoms can come and go. Not everyone gets implantation bleeding so don't worry. Just wait another week or so, maybe a few days sooner, and you will get a more accurate reading. :) Good luck!
Question: How long does hcg levels stay in your system from a miscarriage at 2 weeks? I think I had a m/c when I was 2 weeks prego. I bled for 5 days but it was also around the time my period was due. It has been about 3 weeks later and I still have hcg levels in my system. The last time I checked they were not doubling like they should. Has this ever happened to anyone else or know anyone? Should my levels still be in my body after this long? I dont have any pains or any bleeding, I feel fine.
Answer: With my miscarriage, the hormone stayed in my system for 2 or 3 weeks. I went back into the doctor and them did a blood test because the urine test keep coming back positive after the miscarriage, but the blood test came back negative.
Question: What does your hcg start at once pregnant? What is the absolute first level of hcg in your body once implantation occurs. Is i1 0. something, 1, 2..Is it unique to the person? I know it doubles every 2-3 days but what does it actually start at on day 1?
Answer: Like everything else while ttc'ing, it varies between women. On average, it's about 2. It takes the first day just to double from there. So, 4 days to five days after implantation to show up on even a very early pregnancy test, good luck, i hope that this helps.
Question: Is there anyway to check your HCG levels at home instead of waiting to see doctor? I am about 5 weeks pregnant and will not see the doctor until 7 weeks and I just want to monitor my HCG levels to make sure they are doubling-is there anyway you can test your HCG levels at home? If yes, please explain.
Answer: Buy a home pregnancy test.
