Question: How can MSG allergy sufferers identify what contains MSG when it's not required to be listed as an ingredient? Most restaurants use MSG in their food preparation, but it's not noted on the menu, as peanut products are. It can even be listed generically as "natural flavorings" as an ingredient. My friend developed a sudden and severe allergy, and died an agonizing death from anaphylactic shock, because she specifically asked the person selling it, and he said it didn't (don't think he knew). Can't something be done?
Answer: i ate msg, make me fat. i have kind of a way to see where the glutamate is hiden.
1. if our heart keeps very fast when you smeel the food, probably has msg.
2.in case you acidentally eat msg, take some taurine suplement ( it worked in diabetics)
3. Avoid any processed food ( its the safest think to do)
4. There are 4 natural foods that have it naturally, that optional to avoid it but you feel much better if you dont eat them: corn,soy,diary and weast.
In restaurants, avoid chinese and in japanese eat without wasabi. Avoid any food in seasonings and french fries from restaurants, they usually put msg instead of salt on it.
i know that really hard to believe, but the big companies first think in money not in the clients heath...
Question: A msg was sent to all of my contacts with a link to a gambling site. How did that happen, what should I do? A msg was sent to all of my contacts in my Yahoo mail with a link to a gambling site in Las Vegas. How did it happen and what do I do now? I sent a msg to everyone with the sublect "DO NOT OPEN PREV MSG" Will the rogue email do something to the recipients' computers? Will it happen again? Do I need to change my email address?
Answer: Sounds like your E-mail account has been compromised, or you picked up a virus, Mrs. D.
Immediately have your computer checked for a 'bug' or 'bugs.' If you have the proper programs, do the scans yourself, if not you need to take your computer to some one who can.
Once it is clean of pests, install a firewall and an anti-virus program if you do not have one yet.
I strongly recommend a program for malware and adware also.
After you finish this, then go in and change your password, using a good strong one.
Also, check your account information and make sure no information was changed, if it was change it back immediately.
Then, you will have to inform your contacts that it was not you sending that mail, but they need to check their computers in case they were also infected.
Question: What can I substitute for msg-containing instant bouillon? Are there any instant bouillon products (cubes, paste, powder) that do not contain MSG or other toxic flavor enhancers? What else can I use as a substitute for bouillon as a soup/sauce base? I want to make good quality healthy food but I don't have the time to make my own stock.
Answer: You can buy low in sodium beef, chicken, or vegetable broth instead. Also, if you are making a homemade chicken noodle soup the chicken will make its own stock as well. But I like to add a couple cans of vegetable and chicken broth to give it a boost in flavor as well as using other seasonings such as garlic powder, onion powder, and others. Also I use fresh vegetables as well.
Question: How do you download a txt msg in print form from a mobile phone? I have been requested to provide a copy of a txt msg in print form from a mobile phone for legal purposes and yet can not find any info on how this may be done. I'd greatly appreciate any advice on how this can be carried out. Is there a way of downloading txt messages to the computer?
Answer: She is right. But i think when you forward it, the message that you print out will only show that your sent it from your phone to your email address and the contents of the message, it won't show that the person who is harassing you sent it. Why not just type it up on your PC, in each example, add the number that sent it, the date and time they sent it, and the contents of the message. Print and bring your call/text records with you as well as your cell phone to court to prove what you typed on paper is accurate. If you are with Tmobile, you can print your previous 90 days worth of call and text records right from tmobile.com.
Check with a Notary to see if they can notarize what you typed on the paper matches what is in your phone if you show it to them. That will make it a legal document. Its cheap too, only like 2-3 dollars. This is far fetched, but call a local Notary and ask if they would do something like that.
Question: How can I send a voice msg on my cell to my computer? I saved a voice msg from my grandson in my cell's 'archive'. Is there any way to send it to my computer so I can save it forever?
Answer: You can not. Your msg is not IN your phone but at your network provider. Even if you have saved the message. That only means that your network provider will not delete it from their msg archive.
The only way to get the msg in to your computer is by recording it with a microphone to the ear piece while the msg is being played.
If you do not know how to record sound with a microphone to your PC. Just do an advanced search for the answer on this site with the word 'microphone' in the 'computers & internet' category.
Question: What exactly is MSG and what is it's relationship to food? I know it is used a lot in Chinese food and I've heard people request "no MSG" please when ordering, but I don't know what it is, does it do something for the flavor? Why some poeple have an adversion to it?
Answer: MSG stands for Monosodium Glutamate. It’s basically a food additive that is intended to make flavors more pronounced and to help preserve them. It’s also sometimes used as a food preservative or as an ingredient in commercial spice mixes. It’s use is still very widespread, especially among the lower to medium grade spice mix brands. Many Chinese restaurants now specifically state that their food is completely free of MSG.
People have aversions to MSG for several reasons. A couple of decades ago, MSG was thought to be linked to what came to by known by some as “Chinese Restaurant Syndrome.” People who ate at Chinese restaurants and at other places that sold food with MSG added complained about a wide variety of unpleasant symptoms after eating. These included slight chest discomfort, heartburn, and other disturbances along their gastrointestinal tract. Although recent evidence has somewhat exonerated MSG from at least some of the symptoms, it remains a controversial issue. On top of this, some people are allergic to MSG and need to avoid it entirely, as they can experience symptoms that are far more serious.
Although MSG remains controversial due to some of the reactions it causes in the human body, more reliable studies have definitively linked it to unhealthy and undesirable consequences when it is consumed regularly or in moderate to very large amounts.

Oh my god, that is scary!

Answer: According to the FDA, MSG Symptom Complex or MSG side effects can result in:
* Numbness
* Burning sensation

* Facial pressure or tightness
* Chest pain
* Headache
* Nausea
* Rapid heartbeat
* Drowsiness
* Weakness
* Difficulty breathing for asthmatics
"All forms of MSG (free glutamic acid that occurs in food as a consequence of manufacture) cause these reactions in MSG-sensitive people. That includes MSG found in a plant "growth enhancer" called AuxiGro, and MSG found in a variety of other fertilizers and fungicides that have been approved for spraying on growing crops, including crops identified as "organic.""
According to various independent studies show MSG reaction or MSG side effects can result in the following symptoms:
"Cardiac - Arrhythmia, Atrial fibrillation, Tachycardia, Rapid heartbeat, Palpitations, Slow heartbeat, Angina, Extreme rise or drop in blood pressure
Circulatory - Swelling
Gastrointestinal - Diarrhea, Nausea/vomiting, Stomach cramps, Rectal bleeding, Bloating
Muscular - Flu-like achiness, Joint pain, Stiffness
Neurological - Depression, Mood swings, Rage reactions, Migraine headache, Dizziness, Light-headedness, Loss of balance, Disorientation, Mental confusion, Anxiety, Panic attacks, Hyperactivity, Behavioral problems in children, Attention deficit disorders, Lethargy, Sleepiness, Insomnia, Numbness or paralysis, Seizures, Sciatica, Slurred speech, Chills and shakes, Shuddering
Visual - Blurred vision, Difficulty focusing, Pressure around eyes
Respiratory - Asthma, Shortness of breath, Chest pain, Tightness in the chest, Runny nose, Sneezing
Urological / Genital - Bladder pain (with frequency), Swelling of the prostate, Swelling of the vagina, Vaginal spotting, Frequent urination, Nocturia
Skin - Hives (may be both ..internal and external), Rash, Mouth lesions, Temporary tightness or partial paralysis, numbness or tingling of the skin, Flushing, Extreme dryness of the mouth, Face swelling, Tongue swelling, Bags under eyes"
Many people react to the MSG experience. They are not always benign or transient. According to Dr. George Schwartz author of "In Bad Taste: MSG Syndrome" his patients "have developed neurological conditions similar to Giles de la Tourette Syndrome, Trigeminal Neuralgia, and unspecific symptoms mimicking multiple sclerosis and muscle degeneration."
Dr. Schwartz also states, "In our practice we have observed reactions of severe palpitations, heart rhythm disturbances and liver abnormalities. Psychological disturbances including depression and anxiety attacks have also been seen after MSG ingestion. Gastrointestinal distress, headaches, dizziness and mental confusion are not unknown in these reactions, and asthma attacks are of great concern.
Particularly distressing are the hyperactivity and learning disorders that can be attributed to the absorption of monosodium glutamate by children. They symptoms are often misdiagnosed and attributed to "junk food."
One of the questions frequently asked is why this additive produces so many diverse symptoms? One assumption is that it strikes where the patient is most vulnerable, the brain being most often affected.
It is not unusual to suffer a variety of side effects when dealing with a substance that shocks the nervous system."
