Question: How far are the mountains from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Vancouver? I live in Ontario and I want to study at the CSNN in the future, and I'd really like to know how far the mountains are from the school. It's in Kitsilano. Does anyone know how far the drive would be?

Answer: the nearest mountains to Kits would be the north shore mountains. Just across Burrard Inlet. You will be able to see them from Kits. It's an easy drive of less than an hour (depending on traffic)

Question: Does anyone know if Butchers natural nutrition tinned dog food is a good and safe food for dogs? i am asking because i have noticed a rise in dog owners feeding homemade food instead of canned meat i do feed my dogs chicken rice etc but i am a little concerned about continuing with butchers,any advice is much appreciated Thanks in advance...

Answer: Even though home made dog food is the best. some people can not and do not have time to do so. All I can tell you is that I have done hours of dog food research. I do make food for my dog some times. I do not feed any thing I could get from target, walmart, petco, petsmart, ect...... Question: Optimum nutrition natural 100% Oats and Whey Vs. Optimum nutrition 100% whey? I am 17 years old and skinny and i am trying to get bigger by taking protein shakes and working out. I have a little acne on my face and heard protein shakes make you break out but i wanted to know which one is better of the 2: Optimum nutrition natural Oats and Whey or just Optimum nutrition natural 100% whey protein. Which one will be safer to use and not break out? Thanks

Answer: I did not look up the products but just based on the names, my guess is one has extra carbohydrates in it (from the oats) while one is just whey protein. If you are looking to bulk up, choose the one with the carbohydrates and higher calories. They will spare fat and muscle break down whenever you do exercise.

Question: What are your favorite natural baby/toddler nutrition books? I buy organic baby food but I am much more interested in making it myself, and specifically, in having a complete PLAN that will spell out my baby's needs. He is not quite a toddler (10 months) and not eating chunks yet. He has no teeth. So, I am interested in baby and toddler books.

Answer: I love the book "Super Baby Food" by Ruth Yaron! I made almost all of my daughter's solids (including cereals because she most likely has Celiac Sprue (a wheat/gluten intolerance) and most infant cereals have wheat or were at least processed on machinery that also processed wheat. There are tons of healthier alternative grains out there to make cereals out of. My daughter's favorite is still quinoa - and she's almost 16 months old! I mix it with apple sauce or some other fruit or veggie and she LOVES it! I also use all organic foods. The book is very good. I have read many and no other comes close. This one explains all the foods, when its okay to give them, tons of recipes, etc. There are a ton of recipes for children from baby through the toddler years - I even like most of the toddler snacks and it helps me to eat a bit healthier since I'm already making it for Avary! Question: I don't think my hermit crab is getting enough nutrition! do u know any healthy all natural foods i can feed? Ok so my hermit crab has molted 2 times and now she is kinda a powdery color and light light orange. ive read that she is carotene-deficient. Answer: You could buy all natural vegies and fruits from your grocery store and feed her that......you can also buy these all natural crasins at your grocery store and they are for humans but hermit crabs love them. Also i would suggest buying a calcium thing (you can find them at petsmart).....some other food ideas are...... - spinach - brocolie (not sure about the spelling) - carrots - celery - bananas - strawberries - apple - and other good fresh fruits and veggies :)

Question: how to find nutrition content of natural foods? Can we find out the nutrition content of a food by our own without depending on websites. i.e the Fat and Mineral constituents of the food.

Answer: You can probably find books that list nutritional content, but why wouldn't you use web sites? I know that the Joy of Cooking cookbook (1997 edition) has such tables. I assume other larger, similar cookbooks would, too.

Answer: Garnier Fructis is okay, it won't hurt to use it. However, if you have damaged hair, I suggest doing a deep conditioning treatment.

Question: Is natural sugar included in the nutrition label? Because I bought some natural smoothie stuff and it is really delicious, but I just realized there is an outrageous amount of 27g of sugar in each glass!! I looked at the ingredients, but there is no high fructos corn syrup or even sugar, it is just like strawberry purree, natural flavors, and I would have been able to pronounce the ingredients when I was 7, all simple words and no weird chemicals. So does this mean it is all natural sugar? Should I still be concerened with all this sugar?

Answer: Natural sugars found in fruit are part of the total carbohydrate count and listed as a sub-category - sugar. Look on the ingredient label again for anything ending in OSE. That would be SUGAR! It's hard to believe there isn't any added sugar in any kind of smoothie. Here's a list of sugars... Question: Is all Natural Maple Syryup really healthier than the Artificial Syrup? I compared nutrition labels u decide. I always use the 100% Pure Maple Syrup cuz I've heard it's alot healthier than the other "stuff" (meaning the syrup that lists Corn Syrup and High Frusctose Corn Syrup as their first ingredients), but know I'm not so sure after I compared the nutrition facts from the labels on the back. Here's what I found: 1/4 cup serving of the 100% Pure All Natural Maple Syrup has 210 calories and so does the artificial stuff Total Fat on both is 0 g Trans Fat on both is 0 g Total Carbs 53 g on both Now get this!! Sugars is 50 g on the All Natural Pure Maple Syrup and only 27 g on the Artificial (weird that the 100% Pure stuff has more) I was shocked when I read this: The All Natural Pure Maple Syrup has 5 mg Sodium and the Artificial Syrup has 170 mg Sodium per serving!!! Whoa!!! I guess that's what makes the All Natural Pure Maple Syrup a better choice. But what I don't understand is, why does the 100% Pure All Natural Maple Syrup have more sugars per serving than the Artificial stuff?

Answer: Your point illustrates exactly why those nutritional labels aren't the full story. The sugars in the natural maple syrup aren't the same as the sugars in the artificial. In general, you should always chose foods that have the fewest ingredients and have been minimally processed. In case you didn't know, High Fructose Corn Syrup is chemically derived from GMO corn. You should avoid it like the plague.

Answer: No there isn't. No food, cream, pill, herb or supplement will make breasts larger. Four ways to do it: 1. breast enhancement surgery 2. pregnancy 3. gain a lot of weight 4. birth control pills do for some women (not all).
