Answer: Yes, but you need twice as much to be equal. So you would need 800 IU of synthetic DL-tocopherol vitamin E to equal 400 IU of natural D-alpha tocopherol vitamin E.

Answer: Always look for the Vitamin E that says d-alpha tocopheryl that is the natural kind. You can definitely poke a hole in the capsule and apply to your skin, it can't hurt you. It will also make scars heal & diminish. I love it!

Answer: No, sorry have not used it. But have bought small container of Vit E at WalMart (or check your drug store) and applied a small amount on my face. Works as a great moisturizer for me and some people swear it helps for any acne facial scars. Some people buy the Vit E supplements that are in gel capsules. They cut them open carefully and squeeze the E out and apply it that way.

Answer: Natural vitamin E is d alpha tocopherol and that is the better one by far. Synthetic vitamin E is dl alpha tocopherol and this is a mixture consisting of roughly 90% l alpha tocopherol and 10% d alpha tocopherol but only the d alpha tocopherol (10%) is the really useful isomer. Unfortunately natural vitamin E is more expensive than synthetic vitamin E. Suitable doses of natural vitamin E are 400 to 800 IU per day but smaller doses are also suitable. Multivitamins usually only contain 50 IU of natural vitamin E (d alpha tocopherol) but some contain synthetic vitamin E (dl alpha tocopherol).

Answer: yes, vitamin E works wonders ! but try to put it only on the scars, it could also clog up your pores. you should try to swallow vitamin E tablets also. but you could also try bio oil, which worked wonders for me. its about 10 dollars

Answer: 400 iu and no more. although alot of the original claims (ie preventing heart attacks etc) are disputed now, i swear by it. ive been taking 400 iu (and make sure you use the natural kind-the synthetic kind isnt absorbed as readily)-for 15 yrs and whenever i get blood taken they ask if im on a blood thinner. i really think it helps with keeping the blood from clotting. also, my mom and 2 sisters have terrible varicose veins in their legs and i have virtually none. so i think its helped that too. there is almost no way you can get all the vitamin e you need through diet.
