Skin Care Tips
Question: What are some good mens skin care tips? Hi, there is not too much information out there about mens skin care tips that are not just product reviews. I am looking for a full system or method that will help me cure my acne or at least help my skin look alot better. Thanks.
Answer: Hi there. I agree that there are too many sites that just tell you which products to buy and don't give you quality men's skin care tips. I highly suggest the article in my source, it is all about inside out ways to get perfect skin for men. Men can have a more difficult time with skin care because of hormonal differences, but it's not rocket science. Check it out.

Question: Please suggest me some skin care tips? I am interested to know some useful home product skin care tips?
Answer: home products?
try a local drug store, there should be an isle w/ a bunch of different choices.
i usually go for neutrogena, but right now im using a clearasil scrub, and so far so good.
it depends what your actually looking for:
sun screen, acne cleanser or mouisturizer/lotion?
Question: Does anybody know skin care tips? Hey well my skin is super soft &that's because of the products I use & some things I came up with myself. I love trying new tips because I just love my soft skin &want it to get even more soft. Do you know any skin tips/moisturizing tips. Only the best for my skin?
Answer: well i don't eat sugar and my skin is really soft...
i also use vitamin e oil on my face at night once a week just to give it a little extra soft-ness. if you need a product i would go for aveda they have one of the most natural skin moisturizers and it works really well!
Question: What Are Daily Basic Skin Care Tips For Men ? What basic things should I follow in my daily routine, so I can keep my face clean, clear and always refreshing ? I am serious about my diet, I am not much into junk food and workout regularly 6 times a week. But I was never into taking extra care for my skin, so just curious and want to try things at home itself which will help me have great skin. so any natural ways or any men skin care products ? please post your views.
Answer: I usually use Neutrogena Oil Free it prevents and treats any acne without drying out your skin. Then an SPF 15 moisturizer such as Neutrogena Combination skin or OIL of OLAY ( I know) with SPF15. I would also put on a mask such as MINT or CLAY to tighten your skin and close any big pores you might have. Sensitive skin cream for shaving and you're set.
Question: Can anyone give me some skin care tips for males? hello. im Nyl. well i just wanna ask some tips on how to care for my face specifically on how to deal with pimples. what are the effective ways of preventing pimple growth (ways i can do at home) as far as dermatology is concerned. and is it ok to put some anti-inflammatory creams on inflamed pimples? how do artists make their face flawless?
Answer: first start with washing your face more often, pimples are created from the oils in your skin. washing atleast twice a day will greatly reduce the outbreaks. Another way is to use an astringent on your face, you can use pure rubbing alcohol but not all skin types can handle it, if you need a gentler one try using 1 part witch hazel and 3 part water to make your own which is alot cheaper than buying clean and clear from the drug store but still the same effect.
An easy way to cover up and outbreak is to use eye drops on your pimple. Use the drops that are meant to reduce redness, I am not sure why this works but I read it in a magazine and have been doing it since. It only lasts for a few hours so you will have to do it atleast 3 times a day, but it makes them not noticable long enough to go on a date or whatever.
And I do not know of anyone using anti-inflammatory cream on pimples, so I cannot help you there!
Question: I need facial stuff and skin care tips? I'd ask in Skin/Body, but no one will answer, since I never answer there.
So, I started school a few weeks ago, and my skin has really turned bad because I've been so stressed out and I haven't had time or energy to do any good skin care, and I need some major face stuff and stuff for skin in general. Help, anyone?
I just need a small list of some cleansers, masks, scrubs, toners, and moisterizers/lotions for sensitive skin. I've heard that the St. Ives stuff works well. Your opinion? I don't need a huge list. Also, what are some good skin care tips that don't involve too much.
Thank you. :-)
Wow. I got a lot more answers then I thought I would. Thanks everyone!!! :-)
Answer: St. Ives really does work.
Neutrogena, I believe? has an oil-free moisturizer. The "top" of mine is orange, if that helps.
I don't use much apart from those two.
EDIT: Clean & Clear products are a hit or miss, or at least to me.
One of their products is great when my face is really oily, but otherwise, it's too harsh & removes too much.
The only one I trust no matter what is the pimple cream thing. I can't think of the name. It comes in a small tube & is usually about 5 bucks.
You didn't name this, but oil strips/oil-blotting strips, which I believe are by Clean & Clear too, are great for during the schoolday. It removes excess oil without smudging anything.
Question: Anyone have skin care tips or info on skin care for women age 50+? I've had oily skin but it's been dry lately and espescially during the winter months. I eat right and exercise but want to avoid wrinkles and eventually age lines. I sometimes do face workouts on youtube also.
Answer: I agree with mukunda. Most skin care products are damaging to your skin. Not all are, but the well known ones are often quite nasty. Unfortunately the skin care industry is unregulated and there are ingredients in skin care products that you wouldn't want to know about. Some are known to cause cancer.

Question: Any skin care tips to keep my skin looking fresh and pimple free? I wash my face daily with acne wash and I only get pimples sometimes, but when I do get them, they are sometimes hard to get rid of, what should I do to prevent them? Also, what should I do to stop them from getting larger when they first start out? What will make face look fresh and that kind of dewy look (without anything that will clog my pores)? Thank you.
Answer: why dont you try a mask to pull some of the oils in your face out and like the other girl said try not to touch your face a lot...
i went to the doc for mine because i had the same thing and he prescribed me Benzaclin...im not sure if they still make it but after a year of using it i dont get pimples any more (well maybe just 1 or 2 around that time of the month)
Question: Do you know of any good, simple skin care tips? I am going to a party tomorrow and my skin looks pretty bad. It's dull, quite dry and I have a bit of acne. I can't really go out to the shops, so was wondering if anyone knew any thing that is found in the home that is good for the skin??
For example..(Not sure it works..) but people say to put toothpaste on spots.
Thanks a lot.
Answer: toothpaste is suppose to dry out pimples, but i never tried it. just make sure your hands are clean when you touch your face. try using coco butter. if got get pro active or clearasil.
Question: Anyone have any good make-up/skin care tips? Does anyone have any useful make-up/skin care tips?? i have an oily complexion on my nose and forehead. and i want something that can help me get rid of acne and stuff on my face and make-up tips. do you put eyeliner on the top lid or do you line the bottom lid?? what colour goes well with brown eyes? foundation? bronzer? PLEASE answer my questions!!! thankyouu!!
Answer: For the acne you should try a skin cleanser that has Saylicilic Acid in it, it will help clear up the acne and keep your pores clean. I use a Biore pore cleansing face wash (green with exfoliating beads)
I have an oily complexion as well and the foundation that works for me is called CoverGirl TruBlend whipped foundation. It goes on like a cream and smoothes out to a powder finish. If you would like to try it I would also reccomend Bare Minerals (I can't use it b/c I had an allergic reaction to an ingredient). Bare Minerals gives great coverage and the powder helps with the oily skin, it's also light and healthy for your skin which will help keep your pores clean.
I use eyeshadow for my eyeliner normally. I use a thin shadow brush and line the top lid (without going past the eye to create wings). I also use the brush and line the bottom lash line starting from the outside corner and going about 3/4 of the way in.
You are lucky you have brown eyes, because you can wear any color to match them. However you want to go with the color of your skin tone. I have an olive complexion so i use a lot of warmer colors. Just try experiementing with lots of colors and see what you like. Also a good tip, and something I do, is to use a darker color on the outside and crease of the eyelid and then use a lighter shade of that color for the inside of the eye, it creates great dimension!
You can use bronzer if you like, or you can use blush. I wouldn't suggest using both. If you are going to use a bronzer do not over apply it because you want your face to match the skin tone of the rest of your body lol!!! If you decide to use blush a nice light pink is always cute and natural looking. Or you could decide to use a color closer to your skin tone, like a light golden tan blush. Again it depends on your preference. Just experiment and have fun with it.
If you want some hands on teaching go to a makeup counter in the department store or a Sephora and get a beauty consultation. Or if you like get some girlfriends together and have an old school slumber party with make-overs!!!! Make-up is fun, don't forget that, just have fun!!!!
Question: Will someone give me some good makeup and skin care tips? Ever sense I've started wearing makeup it's just been dark dark dark, but I really want to be able to do this look properly. http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd188/filth_parade/743638796_2JLVe-O.jpg (GREAT mascara, and eyeliner but not too much..)
oh and also, my skin gets really red sometimes, and my pours are gross if you look close enough, any tips..? :/
Answer: It sometimes depends on the eyeliner you get. It comes out super dark, some can be light. BUt what i do, wich is kinda weird..is i use eyeshadow thats grayish black and a good thin makeup brush to..then jus use it like eye liner lol.ghetto..i know..but it surprises my friends and they try it ahha works hella good. It stays on and isnt so dark. another thing for red skin is the aspirin mask..
u get about 4 tabs of aspirin..put in tbl spoon water..then mix with honey if u want...rub on your face..leave for like 15 minutes..then rub off with warm water. Youtube has better directions lol

Answer: Many beauty products on the market have harmful chemicals in them; do your favorite beauty products contain any of these things?:
* Mineral Oil, Paraffin, and Petrolatum – Petroleum products that coat the skin like plastic, clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins, which in turn accumulate and can lead to dermatologic issues. Slows cellular development, which can cause you to show earlier signs of aging. Suspected cause of cancer. Disruptive of hormonal activity. By the way, when there’s an oil spill in the ocean, don’t they rush to clean it up – fast? Why put that stuff on your skin?
* Parabens – Widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic industry (including moisturizers). An estimated 13,200 cosmetic and skin care products contain parabens. Studies implicate their connection with cancer. They have hormone-disrupting qualities – mimicking estrogen – and interfere with the body’s endocrine system.
* Phenol carbolic acid– Found in many lotions and skin creams. Can cause circulatory collapse, paralysis, convulsions, coma and even death from respiratory failure.
* Propylene glycol – Used as a moisturizer in cosmetics and as a carrier in fragrance oils. Shown to cause dermatitis, kidney or liver abnormalities, and may inhibit skin cell growth or cause skin irritation.
* Acrylamide– Found in many hand and face creams. Linked to mammary tumors in lab research.
* Sodium laurel or lauryl sulfate (SLS), also known as sodium laureth sulfate (SLES)– Found in car washes, engine degreasers, garage floor cleaners… and in over 90% of personal care products! SLS breaks down the skin’s moisture barrier, easily penetrates the skin, and allows other chemicals to easily penetrate. Combined with other chemicals, SLS becomes a “nitrosamine”, a potent class of carcinogen. It can also cause hair loss. SLES is sometimes disguised with the labeling “comes from coconut” or “coconut-derived
* Toluene – Poison! Danger! Harmful or fatal if swallowed! Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Made from petroleum or coal tar, and found in most synthetic fragrances. Chronic exposure linked to anemia, lowered blood cell count, liver or kidney damage, and may affect a developing fetus. Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) contains toluene. Other names may include benzoic and benzyl.
* Dioxane– Found in compounds known as PEG, Polysorbates, Laureth, ethoxylated alcohols. Common in a wide range of personal care products. The compounds are usually contaminated with high concentrations of highly volatile 1,4-dioxane, easily absorbed through the skin.
Dioxane’s carcinogenicity was first reported in 1965 and later confirmed in studies including one from the National Cancer Institute in 1978. Nasal passages and liver are the most vulnerable. Dioxane is easily removed during the manufacturing process by “vacuum stripping”.
Warning: It is a synthetic derivative of coconut. Watch for hidden language on labels, such as “comes from coconut”.
IF SO, you should throw them away IMMEDIATELY and substitute virgin/extra virgin olive oil or a natural coconut oil to moisturize in the meantime until you find a better alternative!!! Tell ALL your friends and family!!!
Question: Can someone give me some skin care tips? In a couple of weeks I'm going on a overnight bus trip, the only problem is that I tend to get gross...Mostly a lot of built up oil. Any ideas how to manage that till I get a shower in?
Answer: I'd definitely suggest bringing along a toner ! Since they're made to deeply cleanse your pores (of dirt and oil), hydrate your skin, and remove dead skin cells, it would be PERFECT for you to use a few times a day to keep your skin clean &refreshed. Plus, this is one of the easiest products ever to use if you don't have much time because all you need to carry with it is a few cottonballs and you're set. :]
~Hope this helps.
Question: 18 year old asian guy here wanting some facial skin care tips? I'm not asking how to brighten my skin. I can get lighter if I wanted naturally and dark if I wanted. Actually i'm already dark from walking outside on campus too much lol... Anyways back on topic, I want smoother skin. I feel that my skin is too rough even though I do use facial wash and lotion. I'm kinda new to this so I might not even be using the right things.
O yeah another question. Like I said I can get light without bleaching. Is sunblock enough to prevent my new skin cells from darkening? I can't stay out of the sun because I have to walk outdoors on my college campus to get to classes. Please don't suggest an umbrella... lol too embarrassing to carry one of those.
Answer: well you could start by using a face wash daily. moisturize your face daily.... and use sunblock.. a good sunblock is important. then twice a week go for a facial for men... they will cleanse your face with cleansing milk and scrub it.... u could try natural products like basil and aloe vera...
