Sonoma Diet
Question: sonoma diet? Is the Sonoma Diet a good diet to try?
Answer: Yes the Sonoam diet is a good safe and healthy diet program.
The Sonoma Diet was invented by Connie Guttersen. The Snoma ddiet is a low-carbohydrate diet / low sugar diet. The core of the diet plan is eating approved "power foods" that are healthy and intensely flavorful. Another key concept behind the diet program is managing portion sizes and eating approved foods.
The 10 power foods are: Almond, Bell peppers,Broccoli, Blueberries, Grapes, Olive oil, Spinach, Strawberries, Tomatoes and Whole grains.
The Sonoma Diet has three phases also called waves. The first phase lasts 10 days and is the most restrictive phase, allowing the smallest number of foods and the smallest portion sizes. During this phase carbohydrate and sugar consumption is greatly reduced. In the second phase a wider variety of foods are allowed. You remain in Phase two until you achieve your target weight. Phase three is the maintenance stage and you are allowed to eat a wider variety of foods.

Question: Has anyone tried the Sonoma Diet? What do you think? What were your results with the sonoma diet? I am a sugar addict, will i survive? Will my sugar cravings go away?
Answer: The Sonoma Diet is based on the Mediterranean Diet and probably not a good choice if you have a real sweet tooth. In fact the first ten days you go out of your way to eliminate sugar from your system. Once you are past that you start to get into the ten power foods that are part of almost every Sonoma Recipe.
Question: Can anyone sum up the Sonoma Diet for me? I'd hate to read this book only to find yet another version of the adkins diet. Thanks
Answer: I've only heard a few things about this diet but it seems to focus on very small portions and very strict guidelines. I'm sure you would have to be very careful & disciplined to accomplish this eating plan.
Question: Is the Sonoma Diet book a good one if you just found out you have diabetes type2?
Answer: There are several great books about diabetes. I don't think the Sonoma Diet book is one of them.
Books I recommend:
Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution by Dr. Bernstein
Diabetes and Heart Healthy Cookbook
Diabetes and Heart Healthy Cookbook by American Diabetes Association and The American Heart Association
First Year--Type 2 Diabetes: An Essential Guide for the Newly Diagnosed by Gretchen Becker

Question: has anyone tried the sonoma diet? did it work? looking for any good diets that really work. i heard of this one diet where you can lose up to 5 pds in the first week but im not sure what it was called.does anyone know and good fast diets? i only need to lose about 10 pds.
Answer: No it did not.
My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.
On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.
Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!
Question: Has any one ever tried the Sonoma Diet? How was it? How much weight did you lose? I trying to find a diet that will help me lose 15 to 18 pound a month? Please help me if you ever tryed it.

Answer: What diet is that?....eat everything in sight and get as big as a Chevy Sonoma pickup truck?
Question: Sonoma Diet or Mediterranean Diet? The Sonoma Diet does the plan recommend supplementation?

Question: sonoma diet review? I'm thinking of trying the sonoma diet.
Where can I find a good Sonoma diet review?
Answer: I found a good Sonoma diet review at the following website:
http://www.wanna-know.info/sonoma-diet-review.html
It provides a good overview and info on the sonoma diet.
PS. I have had great success using the Sonoma diet.
Let me know if it works out for you.
Question: Can I safely go on the Sonoma diet while nursing?
Answer: I would consider it fairly safe, because it's mainly sensible eating. However, I know they allow wine, so I would be careful because you don't want to pass alcohol on to your baby. As well, I know in the first wave they don't allow any fruit to try to break you of the "sugar habit," and I would say that you still need fruit while you are nursing. Try to stay healthy and keep your energy up, you will need it. Good luck. Also, if you're not sure, I would still run it by your doctor or the baby's pediatrician before you really went on it!
Question: sonoma diet safe? Is the Sonoma diet safe?

Although meal preparation can be a little costly sometimes, and time consuming. But you really do take off the pounds.
Question: Should I try the Mediterranean / Sonoma Diet or the Anti-Inflammatory / Zone Diet? Okay, so a little background: I'm 24, healthy, slim, love to be outdoors, etc. My boyfriend and I also love cooking and baking together at home, but a lot of times we go out because it's faster (both busy with work, etc.). We're trying to eat at home more often to save money and be healthier, and I wouldn't mind dropping a few pounds as well if it's more of a "lifestyle change."
I'm thinking of trying one of those trendy eating plans out there, but I'm not sure which is better. The first one is the Mediterranean / Sonoma Diet, and the second one is an anti-inflammatory version of the Zone Diet. Keep in mind, this is more for health than for weight loss, I would really like to learn a new way to eat that's not meat-and-potatoes like we both learned growing up.
Can anyone recommend which of these might be better? Here are two pages I read with a review of each, they also recommend the books I'm thinking of checking out:
Mediterranean - http://www.epicurious.com/articlesguides/healthy/news/diet_mediterranean
Anti-Inflammatory - http://www.epicurious.com/articlesguides/healthy/news/diet_antiinflammatory
I want to be alive, healthy, and happily eating for a long, long time, so I'd appreciate hearing any responses, reviews, advice, etc! Thanks!
Answer: I don't recommend on going on any "diet" per-say, especially not a "trendy diet" as you put it. It is important to watch what you eat & exercise if you want to live a long & healthy life - so making any necessary lifestyle changes would be good. I recommend doing your research, definitely, before you decide what lifestyle changes YOU PERSONALLY need to make, as everyone is different.
Really, balance is the key, however, there are foods we can definitely live without, because they're not healthy for us or our digestive system. Cut out dairy, sugar & salt. Also, you don't need bread. Consume as many raw fruits & vegetables as possible, or steam your veggies if you don't enjoy them raw. Try to keep your meats to being grass fed & free range (not fed w/ grain - and stick to white meat whenever possible), same w/ your eggs. Everything should be organic where you can get it, and if your budget allows for it. Wild caught fish has a lot more Omega-3 fatty acids than farm raised. Eat seeds & raw nuts.
Those are just a few tips. But like I said, do some google searching for "anti-inflammatory foods" and maybe even "gluten free foods." I get a lot of my info from MERCOLA.COM which is a great website for health conscious people!
Best to you & your health.
Question: Has anyone ever been on Sonoma diet? Any feedback please?
