Vitamin Tablets
Question: vitamin tablets???????? my doctor put me on beta blockers last week for palpitations,i was just wondering if anyone knows if its safe to take vitamin tablets with the beta blockers...thanks in advance
Answer: Why take vitamin tablets at all? In the UK no one on a normal diet needs or benefits from them anyway. There are also increasing concerns about what is effectively vitamin overdoses. However they do not interact with beta-blockers.
Question: Vitamin Tablets? Is it okay to take vitamin tablets which have expired, if they had been kept in a cool, dry place?
Answer: expired vitamins are ok as long as it is not years after the expired date. the only thing is that they will not be as potent or not effective at all which means that your body will just pass them through. most manufacturers use expiration dates that are too short in order to "turn" the product and make a profit. your best bet is to use "fresh" vitamins but in a pinch old ones will have some effect.-blurey

Question: Do vitamin tablets beneficial to aquariums? I have 2 red claw crabs and the female has babies under her belly, is it beneficial to put vitamin tablets into my aquarium?
Answer: For the most part, no. For many fish, people suggest mixing baby vitamins into the food mix (for people that make their own fish food, usually of beef heart or shrimp), but putting them directly into the water will have little affect. You could try giving them a diet higher in calcium (spinach, broccoli, etc.) as well as adding some calcium carbonate to the water (crushed coral, shells, limestone, marble, concrete, etc.) to benefit their shell development, but I wouldn't put vitamins in the water.
Question: are there any vitamin tablets i would need to take if i went vegetarian? so if i was to go vegetarian would i need to take vitamin tablets? and what ones?
Answer: If you are eating a properly balanced diet there is no need to supplements. It is far better to get nutrition from real food. There is nothing exclusively in meat that cannot be obtained from a vegetarian source.
Some people prefer to take a supplement as a safety net(even those who eat meat), but remember a supplement is just that, an add on to supplement proper nutrition. I a simply multi-vitamin is fine to take, there is no need to load up on multiple pills.
Question: I have taken 20 vitamin B12 tablets, 3 multivitamin tablets, and 7 multi vitamin tablets what will happen? I have taken 20 vitamin B12 tablets, 3 multivitamin tablets, and 7 multi vitamin tablets what will happen, will i over dose ?
Answer: Probably nothing, assuming this is a one-time thing. If you're concerned, call Poison Control and ask (1-800-222-1222 in the U.S.). If the multivitamins contain iron, that could be harmful, especially for a child.
If you took that much every day, you would develop health problems due to overdose of certain nutrients. B12 is one that the body is able to get rid of excess amounts, but others, like B6, can build up & become harmful.
Question: Do vitamin tablets work or are they a waste of money? Hello,
When i was young i remember taking those chewy vitamins now and again but as ive got older ive stopped taking them.
Do you think vitamin tablets are a waste of money and don't work?
I do take evening primrose tablets and i have done for a while but i haven't really saw any improvement to my skin.
What do you think?
Thank you xx
Oh and im 16 :)
Answer: Most of us these days do not eat a well balanced diet and so may be lacking in minerals and vitamins. If you follow any diet ie vegertarian or vegan then I think that makes the use of multivitamins more important as it is easy to miss out on some of the important minerals and vitamins if you do not eat a particular group of foods. So I feel that it is worthwhile taking a good quality multivitamin tablet that includes minerals and iron. But as a lot of vitamins are dangerous in large amounts all my family(including my teenage daughter) take a multivitamin every other day and this seems to benefit us. (I have actually found the ones from superdrug to be quite good my opinion that is all)

Question: Anyone tried hair vitamin tablets that work? my hair is nearly up to my collar bone and i cut some layers in myself so now its healthy. But i want my hair a little longer, Scalp massages have worked on me but ive heard that vitamin tablets are also good. Im 15 so i dont want to spend allot of money.
Just anyone tried any that have worked on you? how good/bad were they?
Answer: Hi Stacey:
The best thing you can do for your hair is go all natural. Period.
I have seen this so many times. Stop using chemicals to wash and condition your hair, and start using all natural bars and rinses, and you will see a fantastic difference in the health of your hair.
You will never go back. I am a shampoo bar maker, and I have many hairdressers recommending my shampoo bars.
I have attached a site you may want to read. This woman has tested many shampoo bars from online stores. You can also google shampoo bars, and you will get many choices.
It is not expensive; in fact, this is a less expensive way to go, but oh, the benefits!
Question: Where can you buy chewable/soluble vitamin tablets in the UK? I bought some multi-vitamin tablets from Boots a couple of months ago, but I found them very difficult to swallow, even if I cut them in half. So in the end I gave up on them.
Is it possible to buy chewable multi-vitamin tablets, and if so, where can I get them? I know there are chewable vitamin tablets for children, but I need ones which are suitable for an adult.
Answer: Both Tesco and Boots sell chewable vitamins. Studies show that providing you are eating your '5 a day' fruit an veg, added vitamin supplements on top of this are of no added benefit.
Question: Travelling to the US vitamin tablets allowed? I'm flying to the US for a week, I'd like to take my vitamin tablets, is this going to cause problems getting through security?
Answer: A friend of mine had the same problem a few years ago. There were no problems going, but when he came back he had to wait while the pills were identified. He was later told that in the future to make sure the pill are in their original bottle.
Question: what happens if you mix vitamin tablets with cakes? If you crunch up a vitamin tablet and put it in with your cakes that you bake yourself, what happens.
Are their any health risks or side effects.
Answer: It depends on the type of vitamin and the ingredients of the cake, it's usually fine though.
Some cakes have special ingredients like alcohol, special herbs and such. Those cakes are dangerous.
Just bake the most ordinary cake you can with the least ingredients for the best safety. Also, according to your vitamin type, you can check the internet for materials that can react with the vitamin.
The best thing to do if you don't like the taste of the vitamin(I'm guessing that's the case?) is putting it in bread. Ordinary, white bread.
