Question: Vitamins/minerals? Can anyone tell me where to find a complete list of vitamins/minerals and what they do for the body?

Question: vitamins/minerals? Lately I have been taking multi- vitamins, iron, zinc, vitamin A, calcium and amino acids. I'am 17 years old, is it bad to take 6 tablets a day?.. will it affect my growth or are these vitamins okay for me to take?
by the way I'am only taking 1 of each tablet listed daily.
Answer: Unless your multi-vitamin doesn't already contain Vitamin A and Iron, I would lay off those two additional supplements in particular. An excess of either of those can be dangerous to your health (unlike Vitamin C, for example, that you can take pretty much as much as you want.) Seriously, unless you have some sort of deficiency or are an elite athlete or something, just a good multi-vitamin with minerals is really all you need. Anything beyond that and you're just wasting your money and potentially threatening your health.
Question: What vitamins and minerals for a healthy life? I excercise and study very hard. I dont get to have a healthy meal so I guess im lacking some important nutrients in my diet. However, Im taking in a lot of protein.
I hope to get some tablets from the pharmacy.

Answer: I take more supplements than anyone I know, but I am a woman so I won't bring up the ones you wouldn't need.
You should at the very least take a good multivitamin. In addition:
Vitamins C and E
B Complex
Calcium
Beta Carotene
Lecithin
deodorized garlic (Spring Valley from Walmart is the only one I've found that is truly odorless)
Ginseng if you are lacking energy
There wll probably be enough iron for a man in your multivitamin if you get one with iron.
Cinnamon capsules
Some of these are for cholesterol control to prevent problems later on.
Question: What are the most important vitamins & minerals your body needs? I try to get my daily amount of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, and Iron. Are there any really important ones im missing? A full list of all the vitamins and minerals would be good 2 :)
Answer: Unfortunately nutrition science is a long way away from determine a list of all the nutrients which are important. At one point they thought it was just protein, fat and carbohydrates. Then they broke it down further into the major vitamins and minerals that we know about now (Vitamin A, Iron, etc). But now there's a lot of research going on about antioxidants and flavonoids suggesting that they are also very important to our heath. Who knows what science will discover in another few decades. An apple has over 200 compounds in it - science hasn't studied all of them to know which are important and useful and which are not... and that's just one food.
The best thing to do is to try to eat a variety of foods. Refer back to the food pyramid and just try your best to get the different food groups covered and try a variety of foods within each. (e.g. picking different colours of fruits and veggies instead of eating the same ones over and over).
If you're having problem eating all of the food groups, talk to your doctor about if you're missing any major nutrients.
Question: What vitamins/minerals are good to take for working out? I go to the gym everyday and run 2 -3 miles then i go on the elliptical for 10 minutes then weight lift. What would be some good vitamins/minerals for a workout like this everyday? i usually just take a multi-vitamin, but was wondering if I should be taking anything else?
Answer: A good multi-vitamin is all you really need. Doctors recommend Centrum multivitamins. Once a day.

Answer: I'd be more concerned about the brain cells I would lose from drinking too much. The vitamins and minerals can be replaced from vitamin packs and/or food.

Answer: There's not really a way to get bigger boobs without surgery, but certain exercises can help. get some 5 lb weights, lay flat on the ground, arms extended to the side, slightly bent. spend 10 minutes lifting the weights to touch in front of you. Another thing you can do if you're wearing a low-cut top is put a little bit of bronzer between the girlies.
Vitamin B supplements are best for hair and nails.

Answer: You would need to not only take a multivitamin and have a balanced diet, you may also need to replenish with electrolytes as well, a kind of an energy drink after every session.
One would have to ask about the chronic masturbation, as that could be signs of a larger problem

Answer: 1 shot of Bacardi is about 95-110 calories depending on whether the shot is 1 oz or 1.25 oz. Obviously, Diet Coke has no calories. Just drink plenty of water if you choose to drink alcohol so that the next day you won't feel like poop and you can do some extra cardio.

Answer: Try a good quality multivitamin with some extra C to kick the cold. Maybe drink some green tea.

Answer: How old are you because most of those things are for older people or people that have ADD or forgetful.
Your not taking any minerals that are worth much. Liver detox should not be on going .

Answer: Depends on which vitamins and which minerals. Some are totally harmless even in big quantities, like vitamin C. Some can be deadly in too high a dose, like vitamin A. Most minerals have to be ingested in huge quantities over a long period to be a problem. Some things like calcium, can be taken in large doses safely by most people, but cause bones spurs and problems for others. So there is no absolute answer to your question without knowing exactly which substances you are worried about.

Answer: You can purchase prenatal pills over the counter. If you have a Trader Joe's somewhere close by, I would say get them there. Prenatal pills have been known to "back you up"...but the ones from Trader Joe's has something in it that umm...makes you more regular. Hell...what woman doesn't need that?? HA!
