Question: What are xanthones supposedly ,found in the fruit mangosteen?

I have been taking XanGo(a mangosteen juice) for a few months now and have had some good results. My father has also had some excellent relief from his arthritis. Xanthones are "super anti oxidants" that combat free radicals in the body. Plus the mangosteen has excellent anti-flamitory properties. Hope this helps!

Answer: Very,very expensive I thought.... I found it for sale at Sam's Club which avoided the MLM marketing aspect of buying it from private sellers. I didn't give it enough of a chance given the cost, which was about $30 a bottle.

Compared with the next fruit down having only 3000, I think it beats all fruits. Answer: Xanthones (Mangostin compounds) have shown some promise in anti-microbial clinical trials, and some improvement with invitro lukemia cells. They are highly active anti-oxidants and anti-radical agents. However, only the rind of the mangosteen contains these ridiculous amounts of xanthones, and dosages have not been established, assuming that drinking any of them would make a difference. Pure Xanthone in mangosteens is used by the plant as an insecticide, and people have extracted it from mangosteens (and from phenyl scalicylate) for this purpose. In other words, while it may be true that the mangosteen has some beneficial chemicals for mankind, we have no idea how great those benefits are that can be made into a juice, and there is no guarantee that that's what you're getting in the juice.

Answer: There's a lot of hype about this new product and although i have not tried it personally i know quite a few who have and I have heard wonderful things about it. Answer: Micro means very small and you would need a microscope to see anything of microscopic size as it is not visible with the naked eye. Macro means a size that can normally be seen with the naked eye.

Answer: Yep, you pretty much covered it. Mangosteen is grown in parts of Asia, has Xanthones (which are great antioxidants), the antioxidant support helps to protect the cells from all sorts of troubles. As far as the Xango, it is basically just like any other Mangosteen juice... just some different "other fruits" for flavoring and likely more than twice the price as the others (you seldom taste a lot of the Mangosteen itself). That being said, Mangosteen in general is very beneficial for overall health, and we have hundreds of customers that buy various Mangosteen products. Most Multi-Level Marketing companies jack the price way up to pay for all the people that were hired above the person that sells it to you, not to mention all their advertising.
