Question: aching muscles and joints all over body after swollen glands for two days? I had swollen glands for two days and is still hanging on a bit now and over the past two days my whole body has started to ache and the joints all over my body are aching and it is hard to get around. i have no fever or anything just my whole body aches ,what is this and what can i do. i have red marks over my body which are very sore but have no infections anywhere and right side of chest is starting to hurt a bit also.have clear head free breathing just my whole body is aching and is very uncomfortable
Answer: GO 2 A DOCTORS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
You might have something VERY serious or the "FLU"???? you should get checked out by a professional not YAHOO!
Question: Is there anything i can do to help my aching joints and muscles? Well, not breaking down, but they hurt all the flippin' time
my knees kill me in the cold, when i run and every time i bend them
i get shin splints every time i go running
my ankle also hurts when i go running
and my shoulders back and ribs hurt all the time because i work at safeway
Im only 15, and i don't get much calcium (i can't stand milk)
Answer: Instead of taking showers take a bath and soak in some warm water and epsom salt. Also use ben-gay or something like that directly to the painful areas. I work at a job all the time where i stand up most of the time. It hurts for awhile but you learn to channel the pain. you go to the doctor and ask him to prescribe you some flexorall its a joint pain and muscle reliever and their not addictive either which is good. if you dont like drinking milk then you need to take a calium suppliment or eat yogurt or cheese or something with calcium unless you dont like products made out of milk either.

I called the Dr office and there saying its not from the medication it has to be that is the only thing I have taken!
Is this an Allergic Reaction to the birth control pill ?
Thanx for any help
I'm only on the pill to help with my PCOS
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome !
Answer: Well, I have no medical background, but if this medication is the only thing you have taken, then this must be the cause of your reaction. I would suggest that you stop taking it, and contact your doctor again, or find a new one.
Question: what causes aching in joints and muscles when you have the flu? as there isn't anything wrong, theoretically, with the joint or muscle.
Answer: A flu causes a systemic reaction, the white cells in your blood, release substances (called cytocines) that makes you feel pain all over, and yes, nothing's wrong with the muscle
Question: Why do my joints/muscles ache? My joints are very painful, and feel stiff. It's affecting my shoulders, elbows, knees, ankles and feet and especially in my hands. It's been going on for 3 weeks or so. I'm having trouble typing this, and with doing buttons or holding pens. My joints feel swollen, but aren't. The pain is worse when I've been asleep and when I've been using the joint. I'm 22, female. I have seen GP who has done blood test, but I'm intersted to see if anyone has any ideas on what it might be in the mean time or how I can cope with the pain in my hands as I'm finding everyday tasks increasingly difficult. Thanks
Answer: Sound likes some sort Rheaumatism, or Arthritis. I have had Arthritis since I was 11 and its not nice at all, the pain is unbarable. Make sure you ask your gp to run as many tests as possible. I know the pain hun, try and keep positive and rest inbetween your daily activity. Keep Smiling. Claire
Question: Why Do My Muscles/Joints Ache When It Rains? There was a storm last night, and today also. Last night my joints and muscles were so sore in the knees, ankles, fingers, and my right arm where I once broke it. I often crack my knees, ankles, and fingers during yoga practice to become more relaxed and comfortable. Could this be why? And if so, why doe's it happen only when it rains? I've heard something about pressure.
Answer: It's a response to the changes in barometric pressure primarily. The other cause may be the amount of moisture in the air during the storm.
Your right arm may have some arthritis from the break. Folks with arthritis usually are very barometric and can tell you when it's going to rain.
Question: problems with prostate and bladder, joints and muscles ache now on amitriptyline & fluoxetine whats going on? 38yrs old and started to have prostate problems 3 yrs ago but have had bladder problems for about 5 yrs after kidney infection. So have taken every pill there is for the prostate from urology,no infection and not enlarged. Had prostate massage and all was ok. Have also had bad back, leg & neck problems and my calfs aways hurt so I'm seeing the chiro which helps but a couple of weeks later my back & neck goes again, muscles ache and joints click all the time. Urology what me to have injections for pain and I'm also taking dicofenac .Not having a great time and all of this is getting on top of me. Since I started amitriptyline & fluoxetine 10 days ago I have seen a improvement with bladder and pain....I'm taking zopiclcone 7.5 to sleep at night when I have most of the pain as I find it very difficult to sleep.Since taking the above I wake up in pretty good spirits and don't spend the night in the loo. Does anybody know whats going on with my body...? What should I do to help...
Answer: Hello.Whilst I can't help with prostate & bladder problems,I can help with the rest. I wonder if you have the onset of arthritis in your joints? I also wonder if you have the onset of fibromyalgia which affects the muscles? From the list of medication you describe,Diclofenac and Amitryptyline appear to be for the joint pain and muscle pain.
I would urge you to go back to your GP and ask him/her to refer you to a Rheumatology Clinic as a matter of some urgency. You need to have a proper diagnosis made as to whether or not you have arthritis. There are 200 types of arthritis that you could have and tests need to be done to establish what version of it you have. I won't speculate here as to what I think you. You would also need several x-rays of the affected joints to be taken. Once you have the results back of an extensive blood test and x-rays,only then can a proper diagnosis be made.
As you have muscular problems associated with it,you may well need a visual examination to determine whether or not you have fibromyalgia.I don't know if there are any current tests to determine the degree of your pain. Again, this is done by a Rheumatologist. In effect, you will be treated for both conditions by the same clinic.
For my own multiple osteo-arthritis, I take Volsaid Retard and Tramadol. For my own fibromyalgia I take Amityptylene to help with sleeping and to reduce the symptoms of the bodywide pain. I do also have Diclofenac tablets for when the pain is less.
Once you have got a diagnosis, the next step will be to work out the best treatment for you.I suggest you may be offered a short course of treatment in a heated swimming pool within a hospital to ease the pain of your joints and to reduce the pain in your muscles. You should also then contact Arthritis Care who are a leading charity on all aspects of this. They have many easy to read brochures which will help you make sense of the conditions when diagnosed.
I'm not sure seeing a Chiropractor or Osteopath is a good thing at this stage.I would urge you to do the above steps before undertaking this very useful but very painful treatment as it may aggravate the conditions you have further.
As a suffer of both since my late 30s, (i'm 53 now),I have every sympathy.I do wish you well and hope you will have a successful outcome to any tests you have done.
With all my very best wishes,
Alan L.
Question: My dog seems to have aching muscles : Poison ? My shepherd is 3 years old, playful and very quiet but my neighbors don't like him because when he plays in our fenced yard the neighbor's dogs visiously bark at him & at anyone who walks in our yard. The neighbors breed their dogs to sell & this has gone on since they moved next to us. Recently neighbors have been behaving very badly, yelling at me, throwing rocks in my yard, putting boards up against my fence.... I think they have drug problems cause they are unreasonable. Yesterday my dog started walking like his muscles/joints are sore, no other symptoms, I suspect my neighbors of poisoning my dog.
Today is Sunday and the vet is not open in my town. Is there something I could feed my dog to weaken the possible poison in his system ?
Answer: giving him some milk and crackers for absorption and coating of the stomach might be helpful.
considering he's still alive, more than likely cause he's a large breed and youthful, hopefully you can get him to the vet Monday to get some vitamin shots and possibly some cortisone injections as well.
I've got neighbors similar to you and the best solution is to not do anything at all but make yourself known to them as a kind person.
that way you don't sink to their level.
drugs make people crazy and you can't reason with them.
pray they move away or build a fence that the dogs can't see each other might help make their dogs shut up and keep their owners pacified.
peace comes at a price always.
freedom is never free.
good luck and god bless
Question: Why do our joints and muscles ache when we have flu?
Answer: Hey I just learned this.
So the flue is by a virus...when the virus infects a cell to the point that it pops (called cell lysis) it releases toxins into your body. These toxins cause your body to react with swelling. This swelling in your joints and muscles make you sore!!
Question: What are some products I can soak in a bath to help my muscles, joints, etc? I'm more curious about muscle products.. But I also have aching joints and if there is anything I can add to a bath to help relieve or relax the pain I am willing to try it.
Thank you.
Answer: muscle magazines say salt baths is good but i know if you shock your muscles by taking a really cold shower and then switch it to hot works
Question: Why do muscles ache when you have a fever? I'm coming down with a cold or flu or something. I have a low fever and I ache all over, joints and muscles both. Why do muscles ache with a fever? I feel like I can hardly move.
Um, "chowbaby", the question is WHY. You didn't adress the question. Try again.
Answer: I'm not an expert, but I think that your body goes into overdrive to fight the virus as it perceives it as a foreign body that has to be removed at all costs. So your normal functions for dulling pain like your nerve ends and releasing adrenalin into your blood stream, goes on the back burner to deal with the foreign invasion. The pain is just purely the exact side effect that the specific virus has.
I have heard it said that the reason they have not found a cure for the common cold, is because it attacks on so many fronts that the body doesn't know what do deal with first and what is the first priority to fight off. I think with fever, this becomes even more important, because the body knows that fevers can be potentially life threatening.
Question: Muscle joints aching...? Hello all,
On wednesday at school we did some fitness training (ergos, weights...), and we did a station session where we spend 3 minutes at one going 100%, and then to the next one.
On Thursday I was ok however, but then Friday came and my muscles started to ache, aswell as my joints. It is NOT my legs, just my arms...
They are not hurting so much that I can barely pick things up, but still...
Please help, is this bad? sign of an injury?
Answer: I wouldn't worry, especially if you haven't been doing those types of exercises before. Those muscle groups wouldn't have been exposed to them, so you're just feeling that. It usually takes a couple of days for the pain and stiffness of a new workout to wear off. Take some ibuprofen if you have to.

Question: Why are my muscles aching? All of my muscles ache, my joints hurt, and Im really tired. What can I do to feel better?
Could it just be possible I'm getting over the flu?
Answer: If you are taking prescription medication it could be side effects from the medication.
Alternative medicine, in general, is free of side effects and that is why some people are turning to alternative medicine.
You may perhaps be suffering from some sort of illness that may need to be diagnosed by a doctor.
Question: I think I have swine flu. I checked out what the symptoms are and I have some of them. What should I do? I have a headache, chills, aching muscles, joint pain, sore throat, runny nose, and sneezing.
Answer: Go to your doctor and try not to sneeze cough or anything like that on anyone .
Question: For year's my joints and muscles have ached Now that I'm older much worse with allot of swelling around the joints
and pulling muscles and I'm extremely tired all time.
My doctor just thinks I'm lazy hypochondriac.
But wont test me for things
Answer: Sounds like you need a new doctor.
I don't doubt that your pain is very real. I deal with chronic pain daily and it took them about 10 years to find the sources of the pain. Be persistent and keep trying new doctors until you find one that will listen.
Good luck.
Question: Aching Muscles, Fatigue, Dizziness? I am 17 years old and am having problems with my muscles aching, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, and joints hurting. I have endometriosis and I just had surgery for that, and I wasn't sure if that was associated at all. Everyday I have to try to deal with feeling terribly. It seems like it effects me the most when I first wake up, after sitting for a while, right after showering, and right before I go to bed. Sometimes if I'm lying or sitting down and get up and try to walk somewhere everything will go completely black for a minute and I'll get really dizzy then be okay. I can't always do too much physically because doing something simple like getting out of a chair, taking a shower, or climbing up stairs will make my heart start pounding. In the middle of the day I can normally do anything I want no matter how physically demanding and be fine. I do not understand what is going on, and I don't know if it is something I should do something about or not. Any ideas?
Answer: yes,, see a dr, & get blood tests,
in addition to the Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, ..
you also can be looking at lyme, babeosis, and a -bunch- of other stuff.
Find either/both an "infectious disease specialist" and " rheumatic" specialist...
check with them for a diagnosis & treatment.
For now, just break up your day into manageable chunks.
Take warm baths, ibuprophen, massage.. for the aches and pains,
try to exercise a little - strecthing, walking, swimming,
and take naps when you need to.
If you overwork -- and get worse -- then you can't help anyone.
Get better! My prayers & good thoughts are with you.
