Alkaline Foods
Question: Why are alkaline forming foods more valuable for the sick person? How many of you have ever tried using alkaline forming foods to solve health problems?
Answer: alkalis are better for indigestion and things like that because they neutralise the hydrochloric acid in your stomach! ^_^
Question: Is the human body really "designed" to digest alkaline foods and not acidic food? What foods can actually be considered "safe" to maintain normal body pH?
Do you know any foods that carry myths that they are "healthy" but actually are risky for our bodies?
Answer: everyday eat rice.
Question: how to have a good diet of acidic/alkaline foods? So I'm trying to cut down on my acidic foods as i am told they can damage your teeth, except it seems alkaline foods are the ones high in sugar which also damage your teeth!?
So which should I cut back on, which is worse for my teeth acidic foods or alkaline foods?
Are there any foods that lack both, which i can eat freely with no fear of harm to my teeth?
Answer: There are no foods that are either high or low in either, all foods are either right in the middle or more one than the other; it's not a quality anything can be low or high in.
Water is RIGHT in the middle of the acidic/alkaline scale, also known as the pH scale. You may already know that that's the most needed nutrient humans get, so enjoy water!
The more alkaline food is the better, so no need to shy away from those.
Some highly acidic foods you should moderate how are:
Animal protein (ESPECIALLY red meat)
Simple Carbs
White Sugar
Caffeine
Etc...
This page has a very comprhensive and detialed list of acidic and alkaline foods.

Question: Can eating alkaline foods help if u r suffering from acidity?
If so, which foods?
Answer: Im a true believer in alkaline vs acidic foods. I had chemical poisoning about 2 months ago in which I accidentally inhaled a chemical and it burned up all my organs inside. If I ate something acidic, I was in constant pain. All my organs let me know that it was acidic and it was horrible. The minute I ate an alkaline food, the pain went away instantly. I mean, this was unbearable pain and I went to the emergency room twice for it and I discovered all of this about alkaline foods. The 2 best foods that I found for reducing acidity is apple cider vinegar and bananas (fully ripe bananas, if they are a little green, they can be acidic). Apple Cider Vinegar is hard to eat because its such a strong smell and taste, but I made salads and put it on there and it was the best thing for acid out of all the other alkaline foods I ate and made the pain go away right away. It's like a miracle food the way it works. Here is a list of acidic and alkaline foods http://www.essense-of-life.com/info/foodchart.htm
The only thing about this list, is that they are wrong when it comes to mustard. Mustard is highly acidic and my stomach let me know it.

http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/ad77/equake-/alkalinevsacidic.png
alkaline foods are listed under green headings (left)
acidis under red (right)
Thanks heaps!
Answer: I'm guessing you just want to get the percentage of each? If you are, then
28+16=44 as 100%
28/44=x/100 ; x=64%
100-64= 36%
64% alkaline, 36% acidic.

If you want to create a neutral balance (like water is) you balance the two out, if you have something acidic, have something that is an alkaline
I would also think about talking to a doctor, if you think you are sensitive to alkalines and acids, then there may be some more information he could give you
Question: Supposedly cancer cannot grow in an acidic environment, do you know any alkaline foods I can get into?
Answer: The question of whether cancer can or cannot grow in acidic environment aside...
If you want to attain an acidic environment in your body, why the heck would you be eating alkaline foods? It will just make your body alkaline, not acidic.
Question: What's the difference between alkaline and acid in foods? What makes the difference?
Answer: Alkaline means they have pH lower than 7 (a base), while acidic foods have pH higher than 7.
Alkaline foods usually have hydroxides in them, such as green vegetables. The hydroxides (base) have a bitter flavor.
Acidic foods are usually sour because of the acid, and these include fruits, vinegar, coffee, etc.

Although it might seem that citrus fruits would have an acidifying effect on the body, the citric acid they contain actually has an alkalinizing effect in the system.
Note that a food's acid or alkaline forming tendency in the body has nothing to do with the actual pH of the food itself. For example, lemons are very acidic, however the end products they produce after digestion and assimilation are very alkaline so, lemons are alkaline forming in the body. Likewise, meat will test alkaline before digestion, but it leaves very acidic residue in the body so, like nearly all animal products, meat is very acid forming.
Question: What foods are alkaline in the body-is there a site with a list? And which are highly acidic?
Answer: there are a few comprehensive lists on the internet. if you put "acidic alkanline foods" in your search engine, you should find it no problem.
cheers!
