Question: Can you have a balanced vegetarian diet without nuts? I have two daughters, one hates meat and the other has said for some while that she would like to be a vegetarian because she can't bear the thought of eating animals. I really like vegetarian food so it would be no problem for me.
But the daughter who hates meat (and also most vegetables) is very allergic to nuts, both peanuts and some tree nuts. Does anyone know if it would still be possible for her to have a balanced diet, and how?
Answer: Yes, easily. Nuts are a fairly good source of protein but they mostly get their calories from fat. They're a good snack but shouldn't be the staple source of protein in anyone's diet - too high in fat and calories.
Try switching all the white and refined grains (white bread, white rice) to whole grains and brown rice. Try new types of whole grains like barley or quinoa. Whole grains are made from the entire grain - most white pasta is made from wheat that has been stripped of the most nutritious, high fiber and high protein layers. In fact, it's so unhealthy that there are mandates for companies that use white flour to refortify it after the processing takes place. Whole grains are naturally high in protein and fiber and are the natural state of the grain and are head and shoulders above refined grains and "white" bread and pasta products.
Beans and legumes are VERY high in protein, fiber and nutrients. Try different kinds - kidney beans, chickpeas, lentils, split peas. Make soups, stews, chili. You can make burger-like patties out of black beans. They are so versatile and wonderful.
Try soy products - soy is a complete protein that the USDA and FDA both admit to being as substantial and nutritious as animal protein. Buy a few trays of tofu, or go to Whole Foods or another natural foods store and try tempeh (which is a brick of fermented soybeans).
Look up recipes - this is vital to learn how to work with these foods. Just like someone that has never cooked with chicken breast before or has no idea what to do with it would probably cook something that's a total, hideous mess, the same would happen with never finding out how to use tofu or tempeh. If used properly you can have a huge range of delicious meals - I make tempeh stroganoff, tofu and veggie stir fry, tofu nuggets, etc.
Question: What constitutes a healthy and balanced diet in general and specifically for the elderly? What constitutes a healthy and balanced diet in general and specifically for the elderly?
Answer: The term "elderly" doesn't really say how elderly. There are many factors involved; How active? Any aerobic work and how often? Medications currently being taken? Current height and weight? Any kind of "resistance" workout? These are factors should be considered because they all could have an adverse effect on any diet.
Question: How nutritional supplements can affect a balanced diet? How nutirtional substitutes can affect a balanced diet? I really need help with these tow questions, answer me briefly please. Thank you.
Answer: Supplements may provide you with too much of one nutrition which counteracts anything else!! try to avoid them unless you have an iron deficiency or something like that!
Question: Where can I find information on a normal balanced diet? With so much emphasis on all of the different diets for losing weight (low carb/no carb, low fat/high fiber, high protein, low protein), I was wondering whatever happened to the normal daily requirements and the food pyramid theory? Does anyone know where I can find some guidance on how to just eat a well balanced, healthy diet without having to load up on one specific food group or cut out an entire food group? Just a normal, balanced diet?
Thank you for any information you can send my way.

Thanks in advance
Answer: Well you feel healthy and good about yourself.
Also the right foods make you stronger, physically and mentally!
Question: How do I have a balanced vegetarian diet on a low budget? My parents aren't supportive of my diet, or at least they won't go out of their way on the grocery list. So how do I have a balanced diet on basic stuff? will fruit and dairy products work?
Answer: Black beans have lots of protein and are very inexpensive. Salads with some lot-fat dressing, add some nuts and cheese on top -- can be done cheaply.
Of course, pastas and rice are cheap -- toss with your favourite in season veggies and you have an easy dinner!
Question: Why is it important to eat a balanced and healthy diet? Also what does a balanced diet consist of.

Question: Why are chicken breast and bread part of balanced diet? If they are not tell me one you know they are.
P.S: But that has to be 2 things including bread. Example: Hot dog and bread, etc... And you have to tell me why they are part of a balanced diet.
Thanks in advance for answering my question.
Answer: The chicken has high protein (the good, muscle-building kind) and low fat.
The bread is a good source of carbohydrates to keep energy up.
Hot dogs generally aren't the best thing for you, dude. Turkey dogs, however, are much better!
Question: How can I eat a more balanced diet? I eat lots of fruit, but I don't feel like I am eating a balanced enough diet. What kinds of foods should I be eating?
Answer: Each balanced meal should contain a portion of wholegrain carbs(eg brown rice, potato, porridge), lean protein (chicken, fish, beans), good fats (nuts, avocado, fish) and either fruit or vegetables. Add in a couple of healthy snacks like fruit or yogurt and you have a perfectly balanced diet. X
Question: How can I keep up a balanced vegan diet? Okay so I just recently became a vegan and its been 3 weeks worth of fruits/veggies, wheat tortillas with salsa/fake turkey slices, soy milk, and some more fruits/veggies. I am constantly hungry and I really would like to stay vegan but I just don't know what I can do to have a balanced diet while getting all the vitamins and other stuff I need to be healthy...any tips would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Answer: i follow the 'eat to live' diet by joel fuhrman. you can read his book. it's life changing... or you can just follow this simple list:
each day you need to eat 3 servings of fruit (i have one for each meal, breakfast, lunch & dinner), 2 servings of raw veggies (like a big salad... i have 1 for lunch & 1 for dinner), 1 serving of cooked starchy vegetable (potatoes, carrots or something starchy like that), 1 serving of omegas (i usually throw a handful of walnuts on my salad and that takes care of that. you can also use flax oil in your dressing to get your omega intake or even add ground flaxseed to a smoothie.), & finally 1 serving of beans (this can be your traditional beans-pinto, navy, etc.-or tofu which comes from soyBEANS).
this combo of food will ensure you get everything you need. if something is missing, your body can tell and will create "cravings" to get you to eat more in hopes of getting what it needs. if you eat the wrong thing... meaning you don't eat what it is that your body is missing, you will just be hungry again because your body will still try to get that thing it's missing. i follow this diet everyday and by the end of the day my body is soooo satisfied that i literally am tired of eating. i don't want another bit of food. that's the part that is life changing. in the past, i'd always go to bed feeling like i still wanted something, but would feel guilty if i ate right before bed.
i think one of the keys to this diet is that it contains lots of fiber. fiber makes you feel full & keeps you feeling full longer.
give it a try for a week. i know you'll be satisfied.
btw, i do add a "cheat item" in every other day or so to maintain my sanity. occasionally i will have potato chips or a cupcake or something like that.
Question: Some people say drinking milk and having a balanced diet will make you taller others say it wont.Who is right? I have been looking around yahoo answers and seen that any question asking how to get taller usually has answers like eat food and have a balanced diet and you will grow taller or its all up to genetics. Who is right? I need actual proof, like a website or whatever.
Answer: You can't get any taller than nature makes you - and milk isn't very good food - it's full of sugar - better not to drink it.
Question: Can anyone recommend a multivitamin for a woman who has a very balanced diet? I eat a very balanced diet and get most of my nutrients from my food anyhow. But I would like to take a multivitamin to be sure I get enough. Is there a good vitamin supplement out there for someone like me? I do not want to have too much of some vitamins as I know that can do more harm than good.
Answer: Well if you have a 'vary balanced' diet you will be fine taking a simple multivitamin every other day. You don't want to overdo it.
Question: What does it mean to have a balanced diet? What does it mean to have a balanced diet? How do you know your diet is nutritious?
Answer: Hi Mason, a balanced diet is one with which you get all of the nutrients and fibre that an individuals body needs to function at optimal levels. Additionally that diet should contain sufficient calories to service the bodies physical requirements in a healthy weight range.
If a diet is supplying the recommended daily and longer term allowances of vitamins and minerals then it would be considered nutritious.
Question: Name 2 other food substances that must be in breast milk to provide a balanced diet for a baby? Babies are usually fed only on milk in the first few weeks of their lives. Fat, protein and sugar are needed in a balanced diet.
Answer: IRON IRON IRON. and fibre
Question: What Is WELL Balanced Vegan Diet For A 13 Year Old Girl? I turned to into a vegan because i don't think its right to kill animals for our own need but anyways i would like to know what is a well balanced diet for a 13 year old girl. I hope to get good information thanks in advanced
I would also like if you could give me some good recipes.
Answer: Basically I am vegetarian, but have to get some minerals and such from range-free, organic bison. As for vegans, my cousin is, and has had to supplements a lot of her meals with proteins mixed with various other veggies and even vitamins and oils to stay on track with her health. She has had some medical problems with anemia and other things from only consuming plants.
But note, she laughed when she thought of this, "Does a plant scream when you pull it out of the ground?"
Who knows, but there are life's spirit in all of creation, including good and bad bacteria. Like the stuff in yogurt help a body's intestines get back the good stuff in it when you have to be on a drug to fight an serious infection.
Also, a lot of veggies have had their DNA changed including: all corn products, plastics that hold them, tofu, gluten free flours, vegetable oils (also are adulterated), nonkosher gelatin (animal product), yellow & red dyes (some made from animal products and some reds are from crushed South American beetles), carab beans, black beans, lentils, peppers and rice too. Most out of town veggies are coated in lard or oils that are not vegan and some are grown in animal or human waste as fertilizers. Dried spices are mostly irradiated, so in dried fruits and veggies.
Need to get to a dietician that specializes in vegetarian and vegan diets and know their food science and sources of food to understand the chemistry involved in seed to table production and also knows the various kosher sources for totally vegan products including your meds and vitamins that are in capsules made from animal gelatin and I have to buy vegan ones and change each pill into a kosher one as Muslim's do also.
Being so young, you are growing and your body has it's greatest needs now (and also when pregnant), then you can imagine. So, choose wisely and spend the time to even wash outside and inside of all you eat because bugs like strawberries as much as you do and even some are so infested being organic, we don't eat them. Buy FIT on line to wash everything.
Good luck.
