Answer: There is nutritional value in uncooked protein, and eggs are a very good, safe way to get it. Eggs from commercial sources in developed countries have extremely low risk of Salmonella contamination. Care for them properly after purchase, and your risk is negligible. The protein in uncooked eggs is less bio-available.
Question: What exactly are the health benefits of eggs? And what are the disadvantages, if there are any?
Answer: 10 Health Benefits of Eggs
Some of you may have eaten eggs over the Easter weekend so I thought I'd post ten health benefits of eggs (and it doesn't count if they were chocolate eggs!)
1. Eggs are great for the eyes. According to one study, an egg a day may prevent macular degeneraton due to the carotenoid content, specifically lutein and zeaxanthin. Both nutrients are more readily available to our bodies from eggs than from other sources.
2. In another study, researchers found that people who eat eggs every day lower their risk of developing cataracts, also because of the lutein and zeaxanthin in eggs.
3. One egg contains 6 grams of high-quality protein and all 9 essential amino acids.
4. According to a study by the Harvard School of Public Health, there is no significant link between egg consumption and heart disease. In fact, according to one study, regular consumption of eggs may help prevent blood clots, stroke, and heart attacks.
5. They are a good source of choline. One egg yolk has about 300 micrograms of choline. Choline is an important nutrient that helps regulate the brain, nervous system, and cardiovascular system.
6. They contain the right kind of fat. One egg contains just 5 grams of fat and only 1.5 grams of that is saturated fat.
7. New research shows that, contrary to previous belief, moderate consumption of eggs does not have a negative impact on cholesterol. In fact, recent studies have shown that regular consumption of two eggs per day does not affect a person's lipid profile and may, in fact, improve it. Research suggests that it is saturated fat that raises cholesterol rather than dietary cholesterol.
8. Eggs are one of the only foods that contain naturally occurring vitamin D.
9. Eggs may prevent breast cancer. In one study, women who consumed at least 6 eggs per week lowered their risk of breast cancer by 44%.
10. Eggs promote healthy hair and nails because of their high sulphur content and wide array of vitamins and minerals. Many people find their hair growing faster after adding eggs to their diet, especially if they were previously deficient in foods containing sulphur or B12.
The only disadvantage I can think of is they are very high in colesterol
Question: What is the benefit of buying organic eggs and organic milk?
Answer: The other advantage is that you are buying from people who actually care about their land and their product.
Organic farming methods are much gentler on the environment and so in the future we may be able to continue getting food when more commercial growers have poisoned the land.

Question: What is the healthiest way to prepare or cook eggs to get the best heath benefit with least drawbacks? i.e., Fried usually means butter or oil, soft boiled may have health risks, hard boiled means using salt most of the time. Question: What are the benefits of laying eggs opposed to live birth? The Australian Echidna lays eggs into a little pouch then once the babies are born they drink milk and are cared for by their mothers as if they were live born.
What are the benifts of this?
Answer: Typically, the main benefit of laying eggs is that it allows you to have larger babies that you would if you carried them all in a womb. Imagine a sparrow trying to fly with three golf-ball-sized babies in its body! However, monotremes like the echidna are a bit of an oddity. They are like mammals, but still lay eggs like most other animals. Also, they carry the eggs around inside a pouch, thereby eliminating any size benefit they might otherwise have had. It is possible that laying eggs gives the echidna the option of dropping and abandoning them in an emergency (like to avoid being eaten herself). However, the fact that there are so few extant monotremes in the world today suggests that their style of birth has been surpassed in efficiency by marsupial and placental mammals. Basically, whatever advantages the echidna may gain are probably small in comparison to the advantages of live-birth.

Question: What is the benefit of an egg whites only omlette ? And isn't it just a waste of half an egg?
Answer: The egg whites on their own are pretty healthy.
It's been a big debate over the years though wether the yolk is. Some say it's full of fat and cholestrol, but other say it's the good kind of cholestol, etc etc.
The Egg yolk can be used for other things, but i'd imagine that people who eat white omlettes just throw it away, which I think is a waste.
personally, I think Egg beaters or another egg substitute which is pretty much the same thing as egg whites are a better solution. And taste less like flavorless jelly.
Question: Whats the benefits of eggs to your body?
Answer: Well there is some new research that claims that eggs are good for your cholesterol, unlike what older studies have found. They claim also it can help stop heart attacks, strokes, and blood clots. Eggs contain lutein, which is great for your eyes (as a diabetic I take lutein supplements to help with my eyes). The high sulphur content helps hair and nail growth.
Question: Is it a dumb idea to eat raw eggs? I know lots of people who eat them and say that they are good for you, but im skeptical. Doesn't the risk of getting salmonella outweigh the benefit of the egg's neutrition?
Answer: you can eat raw eggs when you really know where they come from and how old they are. eggs to be eaten raw should not be older then 10 days. from the day the chickens layed them and NOT when they were sorted, that is the stamp on the boxes. and that can mean 3-5 days in the chicken farm....
it is assumed that you do not suck the egg out from the shell, but put it first into a cup and drink it from there.
if you are worried about salmonella:
soak the eggs first in cold water for 10 minutes, to soften any feces or other dried bits and pieces. then wash them.
next soak them for 10 minutes in a 11/2 % chlorine solutin. household bleach should be fine. look at the lable, and dilute if needed.
next move the eggs into a solution of water with household soda(1 ltr water, 1 table spoon soda) soak for 10 minutes.
the nwash the eggs again in clean water. NO salmonella bacteria will survive that. i am a chef in russia and by our sanitation law we treat eggs like that.
