Benefit Of Natural Vitamins
Question: what company can i go to if i want to sell natural vitamin supplements from my home? I am interested in finding a reputable company to work with. I want to sell all natural products out of my home for extra income as well as the health benefits...vitamin supplements as well as herbal.
Answer: www.vitaminpower.com
Question: what are some natural skin supplements? so i wanted to know if there are any natural skin supplements that i can take ? like for instance, vitamin or antioxidant capsules?
if so, what can benefit my skin?
& is it better to just break open the capsules & apply it directly to my skin, instead of taking it orally?
thanks<3
Answer: the antioxidant vitamins A,C and E... vitamin C applied topically is wonderful for the skin but I don't know if you can just open a capsule and apply it; you might want to check with your pharmacist. Green tea as suggested by the answerer above is also great for its strong antioxidant content protecting from free radical damage, green tea applied as a toner is also great for anti-aging and in some cases anti-acne. Selenium and niacin as well as vitamin B6 and omega 3 are also quite good. You might want to consider just taking a multi-vitamin if you already don't as it will contain all of these great things (minus the green tea and omega 3). Lastly make sure to keep your skin well-hydrated by drinking lots of water and using moisturizer appropriate to your skin type. Oh, and I almost forget make sure to exercise regularly as it will increase blood flow to the skin and help eliminate toxins that might otherwise try "escaping" through the skin through forms of acne. Do not do overly strenuous exercise as that would stress your body and thus come out through the skin. You don't need to worry about breaking out from sweat as long as you pat the sweat off or shower after exercising. And don't skimp the beauty sleep get at least 8 hours!
Question: Vitamin intake/good or bad ?? if i want to be healthy, is it ok to take or is it worth taking vitamins even if i am eating most of the right foods which contain the same vitamins. also will i still get the same benefit from vitamins if i take every other day.
if i do it both the natural way and the vitamin way will i have a higher chance of getting too much vitamins and be at risk with poisoning etc.
Answer: Getting vitamins from the natural sources is the best. These can be assimilated better. If you think you food contains all the vitamins and minerals in the right proportion, then you need not take a supplement. You might have heard of ' hypervitaminosis'. This is a condition in which the body suffers from excess intake of vitamins. Excess intake of each vitamins has some bad effect in the body. Some of them may cause swelling in the body and make your bones fragile. You may feel tired as a result of excess intake of some of the vitamins.
Question: Should you still take a vitamin if your getting a full serving of fruits and vegtalbes? Im big into eating healthy and drink 100 percent natural drinks that have a full serving of fruits and vegetables, and I also take a multi vitamin. Am i getting any benefit out taking the vitamin?
Answer: Over the past several decades the farming techniques of the world have begun to deplete the soil so food grown on it is not as nutritional as it once was. And store bought produce loses a lot of its nutrients between harvesting, shipping, time spent in stores and in your home before you prepare them. And they could lose a lot more nutrients depending on how you prepare them.
The 1992 Earth Summit Report indicates that the mineral content of the world's farm and range land soil has decreased dramatically.
The percentage of mineral depletion from soil during the past 100 Yyrs, by continent show:
North America 85%
South America 76%
Asia 76%
Africa 74%
Europe 72%
Australia 55%
Some US farms are showing a 100% depletion and some a 60% depletion. The average is 85% depletion as compared to 100 years ago. This is worse than in any other country in the world because of the extended use of inorganic fertilizers and mass farming methods being used today.
You don't need to go out and buy a mega-multi but I take a multi just to be on the safe side.
The second source is a company, but it has a good report on the study.
Question: Do you know what is the benefit of eating bananas....? Bananas are a great food for all round health benefits, for the average person, dieter or even athletes bananas may provide greater benefits than most fruits. The combination of carbohydrates and B vitamins present in a banana helps provide an energy boost which makes them great to eat 30 minutes before a workout, or even at breakfast to help boost energy at the start of every day.
Bananas are not only a good source of B vitamins they also contain vitamin C, A and high levels of potassium. The natural fiber in bananas also contribute to the many health benefits
healthy bowels
cardiovascular health
protection from stokes
protection from ulcers

Bananas and losing weight
Bananas may be one of the best fruits to eat when attempting to lose weight. They are full of nutrients for increased energy and vitality. Bananas are also low in calories and fat, plus they have a high water content and potassium levels. A diet high in potassium* foods and lower in sodium-loaded processed foods can help reduce water weight.
SO EAT BANANA MORE PEOPLE, IT HAVE ALOT OF HEALTH BENEFIT!
Answer: You answered your own question. this info backs up what you wrote:
Bananas are rich in vitamin B6 and they are a good source of fiber, vitamin C, magnesium and potassium. Lack of B6 in a diet can cause weakness, irritability and insomnia. The potassium found in bananas helps to regulate blood pressure and may reduce the risk of high blood pressure and stroke. Potassium is also essential for helping muscles to contract properly during exercise and reduces cramping up. A medium-sized banana provides 400 mg of potassium -11% of daily value- and contains 110 calories and 4 grams of fiber. Bananas also contain plenty of carbohydrates which are the body's main source of energy. They are also easy to digest.
Because of their great taste, they can also serve as a substitute for sweets and satisfy sugar cravings.
Research also shows that serotonin and norepinephrine in bananas may naturally help sufferers overcome depression. They are the good mood food
Question: natural remedies for depression/anxiety.? i was diagnosed w/ depression when i was 14 and for the next 3 years i tried several prescription meds. i didn't want to but my parents made me and i didn't have much of a choice. i got nothing but side effects with no benefit from them whatsoever.
i'm 20 now and since then i've learned to live w/ my depression but over the past year or so i've been developing anxiety also and that in turn in making the depression hard to deal w/. i'm reluctant to go back on prescription meds, are there any natural ways to deal w/ my depression and anxiety like vitamins and the such?
i already take b-12. i think i eat pretty healthy (vegetarian, i dont eat fried foods and i eat foods low in sugar, sodium and fat) and i ride my bike at least 3 miles a day 6 to and from work, plus additional 6-7 mile rides 3 or 4 times a week. exercise does help.
Answer: do yoga and meditation

Question: Does anyone know or have a link to the biochemistry of tanning?!? Ok basically, i was wondering whether there was a product/drug out their that activates the receptors in the skin cells that are to do with tanning (ultra violet light receptors). This is because, by activating these receptors, you would get ALL benefits of a natural tan. in fact it would be just like a natural tan minus the cancer and skin aging!
when i mean 'all benefits' i mean
1. darker skin
2. clearer skin
3. more radiant skin
basically tans aren't just the colour of the skin, but also other enhancements of the skin. like i think vitamin D is produced as well?! but yeh i hope you get the drift that all fake tans may indeed give you darker skin but they don't give the other benefits because they don't activate the uv receptors!
so
1. is their a drug/product that activates these receptors?
2. does this melanin injection stuff just give you darker skin or does it do everything?!
thanks! sorry for the waffle!
Answer: the truth is those saloon for tanning makes your skin darker but i dont know if theres a side effect on it...why not try those products you find at the store it will take longer but safer tanning.
Question: Am I really allergic to MSM sulfur or NOT ? I am confused PLEASE HELP .. very confusing? Ok. I started taking MSM 2 days ago for personal health benefits. MSM has natural sulfur in it and it is said to be very water soluble. As far as I know , I am not allergic to eggs, garlic or onions and they're all said to have sulfur in it. So here comes the confusion now . I started taking MSM supplements 2 days ago that are each 1000 mg. The first day I took 13,000 mg and I never experienced anything but I hadn't taken any caffeine before that ... then in the evening when I was about to take my MSM , I took 7,000 mg with Vitamin C and right after I experienced shortness of breath .... it developed so badly that I could hardly breathe , I was really scared . However , the first day i took 13,000 mg of MSM , I never experienced anything .... So Could I really be allergic to MSM ? I eat eggs and garlic just fine .... Or is it the detoxification process or is it the fact that I took MSM after taking the caffeine ?
Answer: Ok-so if you havent stopped taking these you need to. Just because they are 'natural' doesnt mean they cant do you harm. You need to be reviewed by a medical dr -sudden shortness of breath is not to be taken lightly
good luck
caz.
Question: If you had to choose between these 3 foods for your dog (say dog has GI issues) which would you choose? Why? I have two dogs I have a Terrier mix who is perfectly healthy (she is around 20-25lbs) and I have a little poodle with Gastrointestinal issues, he has had them since he was a pup so we have to be careful with what we feed him.
They are currently on California Naturals Herring and Sweet Potato and my poodle is doing better than ever before, very few issues.
But there is the thing, we have been advised in the past to make sure he is eating a food with a very low fat content. So even though I don't want to switch, I swear by Naturapet products. If there is something out there he might do better on, its worth a try, right?
Or is it not worth the risk?
And sometimes I think my Terrier would benefit from a different food. It was suggested to keep feeding our poodle the same food and just switch our Terrier, but right now we can't afford to feed them two different foods.
So we are either looking at keeping them on the same food or switching to one of these.
If you were in our situation which food would you choose (You can only choose 1)

Legit: Also is it true that acupuncture is a sucessful way to manage a dogs arthritis?
Answer: I would stick with what you are giving him unless there's a reason beyond the GI issues they want him to have a lower fat content (and I can't imagine what that might be). He's doing well on it, and it is by far the most limited in ingredients of the three you listed (and with a dog with digestion problems, limited ingredient is best). California Natural is an excellent brand with a great reputation. You've found something that works well for your dogs- why rock the boat?
Question: What is the best alternative/natural anxyolitic you know? I have tried lots of presc. drugs for my anxiety but really I get the worst side effects. Im traveling to Australia in Feb to study and it seems there is a big deal for alternative medicine there, I might as well benefit from that .
So..what is the strongest / longer lasting anxyolitic you know? Something I can take at breakfast/lunch/dinner and that lasts me pretty much all day.
You see, I feel anxious almost all day. Its not sporadic like panic attacks. And it gives me twitches so I need something strong.
Please list any root/leaf/vitamin/combinations/etc... Any help is appreciated.
Also i have bipolar disorder so no St. Johns Wort, thanks.
Answer: My favorite thing for anxiety is an herb called Zizyphus spinoza seeds (roasted) or Suan Zao Ren. It is made as a tea with licorice root. Unfortunately it is calming to the central nervous system. I say unfortunately because if you use enough of it to control severe feelings, it may have some side effects like short term memory loss. Not good for a student.
I would not recommend it for you unless you see a Chinese Medicine practitioner who can address more of your imbalances. Just treating this one symptom of what sounds like a major disease is not likely to help you in the long run. Chinese Medicine is not a normal approach for what we would call a psychological disorder, but because it is not based on pharmacology, but on visible and testable signs, there is a chance that some underlying physical imbalances may bring about supportive changes for you. My opinion here, not based on published journal articles or Gold Standard studies at all. But I have seen some folks helped with the approach of Chinese Medicine who had a combination of what we would call psychological and physical problems.
Question: Why is the medical community so hyporitical? I have frequently heard medical professional make public statements that Vitamin C does not necessarily prevent colds, that coffee and wine may cause cancer, that the benefits of anti-oxidants is unproven, and then turn around and say the exact opposite. Is it way of toying with the general public? Is it because pharmaceutical companies want people to use synthetic drugs instead of natural remedies? Enlighten me.
Answer: No, it is because LIKE ANY OTHER COMMUNITY, they definitely don't always agree!
Question: can vitamin A taken as a suppliment weaken the efficacy of minoxidil? cuz i was taking spirilina natural that has 1000 iu's of 'A' in it for it's antioxidant benefits, but notice a thinning of my brows/lashes that minoxidil 5% made dark & thick, till i started using the spirilina natural.
Answer: Your best (and safest) bet would be to ask a pharmacist if there are any interactions listed between the drugs and supplements you're taking. Doctors and pharmacists both have access to a database of drug and supplement interactions and they can tell you quickly if you can safely take them together or not... anyone here will just have a best guess from searching on the internet (which isn't always accurate, as we all know) ;-)
Good luck!
Question: How do keep African American hair moisturized and maximize it's growth potential? I currently use Aubrey Organic's products and they generally work pretty well in keeping my tresses moisturized and plus the added benefit that they contain all natural ingredients. But a couple of days after I shampoo I find my hair dry, especially on the ends. I oil my hair and scalp with almond seed oil and jojoba oil mixed together on a nightly basis and I clip my ends about every month. I also take flaxseed oil supplements as well as a daily vitamin. I also have a roughly healthy diet which is rich in leafy greens and other veggies and low in fats. The only area I may lag in is my water intake is not as high as it should be. I generally consume about 5 glasses daily rather than the 8-10 as most professionals suggest. Beside increasing my water intake, what else can I do to ensure my hair remains moisturized as well as reaching it's maximum growth potential? Thanks!
Answer: African American hair is extremely dry...You sound like you are doing a good job, but you didn't mention other factors such as how you style your hair, what you use to wrap it up at night, and how the air conditions were you live are. Those factors have to be taken into consideration as well.
Also, you mention that you oil your hair and scalp, but do you do the same to the ends of your hair? As you know, that part is the first to dry out.
If you wrap your hair at night and tie it up with a silk scarf, that should suffice, in addition to what you currently do.
Question: need advice about low testosterone levels? alright long story with a short question..
im just trying to stop all of the follow up questions in advance.
back in 2005 i was working in louisiana after huricane katrina. i work for the govnmnt but do not have insurance, its kinda like a contract job. but whenever i am at large operations like that i always have the benefit of having a doctor on site for free treatment. ..soo...
by the way I am 34 now, and was 29 almost 30 then.
after i was there for a few months i was really tired and run down. and extremely grumpy. almost hostile at imes. very unlike me. i thought it was a stress issue due to the long hours and a few other things. i didnt really notice i had no sex drive because i was away from home and my significant other. but either way i hadnt woke up with a Mr. happy in weeks, maybe months. my sex drive at home was pretty much nonexistant also before i left. i was looking for excuses to get out of my manly duties.
mostly the problem was that i was feeling very short tempered with people i had to work with at this point. so i went to the doctor and told her the symptoms, she asked me some questions. "sex drive stuff i hadnt thought of" and said i was expereincing low testosterone. i was also getting pretty out of shape. my arms were getting skinny. my gut was getting flabby. but i noticed it mostly in my usually very well developed legs. they were starting to look like female legs. no hair. hardly any muscle tone. and i was getting fat deposits on them. i thought it was because of long hours, and no exersize. but the effects were too dramatic.
anyway.. its pretty clear my testosterone levels were low. she told me she could do a blood test to determine whether i should use injections or gel or patch. and i asked her some questions. mostly about side effects.. we have all heard the horrible things about steroids in the media.. shrinking balls, baldness, cancer! she said i would probably need testosterone therapy of some sort for the rest of my life. i was mortified.. i had been the picture of health my whole life.. very active, ate right. low blood pressure. reasonable body fat to muscle ratio. didnt smoke, drank in moderation.
this type of thing only happened to people who didnt take care of themselves right?
i told her i needed to think about some things and look into some different options.
so i went back to my office and started looking at different treatments online. different symptoms.
natural treatments. i ran accross hundreds of "natural" remedies. herbs.. root extracts.. vitamin combinations. im sure if you are reading this you have ran accross several yourself.
so a few things led me to my decision to try some natural remedies. firstly the doctor told me it was possible that my test levels were low because of the long stressfull hours and lack of sex..
so maybe just a few little things here and there could help out right..
well first i tried some stuff i ordered off the internet. it was a liquid drop you held under your tongue. tesocurlone i think it was called. i also increased my b complex vitamins.
well that did it.. after about 3 or 4 days i woke up with a raging rock hard erection. i thought - hell i should be a doctor.. i felt better. my muscles felt stronger.
the affects however were shortlived. after about 3 months of this, i started to see a decline in my sex drive and energy. also since i work out semi regularly i could tell my performance was fading. weaker, and less stamina ..
so on to another remedy... then another... then another...
the results over the past few years have almost always been the same. i have tried different combinations of herbs... nettle root, vitamins and over the counter remedies from health food stores.
they seem to help for a while until my body kind of "runs out" its almost like its sputtering. up and down.
so now im about to change jobs and have insurance in april. to celebrate i went to 2 different doctors here in town to try to maybe get my testosterone levels regular and steady. i have decided that everyone grows old but at 34 i want to be able to enjoy the time i have and its very hard to do physical activities like riding mountain bikes and playing basketball when you feel like you are 64 instead of 34. i dont care about performance enhancing, only enjoying life.
so the first doctor i went to i told him all these things. he asked me about my job and personal relationships. asked me how much i worked out. which is always 2 hours of full court basketball on sunday and light weight training once or twice during the week during winter. but summertime im always outside, riding, hiking, building things, whatever i can do to enjoy the outdoors.
he took my vitals and tested my blood, but for cholesteral and lipids and stuff rather than test.
he said i thought i was depressed. he rattled off a couple antidepressants he thought i could have some success with. he said steroids were basically the devil. they would kill me if i too
kill me if i quit taking them. low testosterone was part of getting older. i just had to accept it.
i was stunned at first. i didnt know what to say. i left the drs office feeling like an old man. like it was all downhill, i should just enjoy the ride. i started thinking about quitting basketball. since honestly it was becoming a huge struggle to keep up. i obviously needed to drastically alter my diet to accomidate about 1600 calories a day. i thought, well what can i do the Dr said this and that. i dont really have much choice.
then i had a novel idea. ill go to a different DR! and i did. i looked in the phone book. called. made sure i was going to see a doctor who was under 50. went and he proceded to tell me some of the same things the first doctor did. except that he was under the impression i was trying to use him to score steroids for performance enhancing.
i think he assumed since i am kinda muscular and bigger that i was looking for a legal way to get "gains". by the way im 6-1 about 230lbs. i have a 50 inch chest and a 38 inch waist. i got this big in high school while i was rowing crew except now my body fat is all out of whack and my arms are kinda skinny looking with very little tone. my chest is getting flabby. and my waist is reaching maximum density. and remember for the past few years i have been trying every over the counter and natural remedy combination i can find with mixed results and little success. the hardest thing to do when my testosterone drops is finding motivation to exersize or be active at all. i just want a steady healthy energy level that will allow me to live a healthy active lifestyle instead of basically rolling over and dying.
the second doctor said my test levels were low but within acceptable range. around 400 i think he said. he told me if i worked out naturally and watched my diet i could get them up
natuarally with out steroids. i tried to explain that i have been trying that for the past 4 or 5 years. but he was not swayed.
here is the problem. i live in a small town that is for the most part very conservative. most of the doctors here are older from the old school that seem to think steroid therapy is akin to witchcraft and cheating in some way. i have went to 2 doctors here and neither was willing to help, well the old guy wanted to put me on zoloft or welbutrin or something. and the younger guy though that i was trying to "get juiced" he was a smaller younger guy kinda skinny and i think he may have had a napoleon complex of some kind.
im tired of the erratic sex drive and energy levels. im tired of feeling like i just ran a marathon ofter sex if it does get to that point. (i take stamina RX, OTC) im tired of being grumpy and angry. and im tired of being tired. i live in the WV, OH, KY tristate area. does anyone know of a doctor that would be willing to help
alright.. couple of quality responses, but not what i am asking for.
firstly, i am not seeking advice on the forum. i already have a pretty good idea of what is needed through research. i dont claim to know more than a doctor ofcourse, but a family practitioner over 60 years old might be a bit out of touch with up to date treatments. also let me just let everyone know right off the bat.. i am not depressed. i lead a pretty stabile life that is rewarding and active. i have tried treating this problem with every kind of extract, diet, food, or supplement i could find reason to believe in. and like i said, some have had some positive altho temporary results. i am asking.... DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A DOCTOR OR CLININC IN THE WV, OH, KY areaTHAT SPECIALIZES IN THIS TREATMENT. i do not need any more advice. i need real treatment for a real problem.i wrote the novel cover all possible facets so as to weed out the good advice givers and people telling me steroids are not the answer
Answer: Low Test, First of all let me tell you I have been taking testosterone injections and using Andro Gel for over 12 years and the Endocrinologist who prescribed Test for me told me I would have to use it the rest of my life and I fully intend on doing just that. Contrary to what you hear or read on the internet or from people who know nothing about testosterone replacement therapy, TRT - there are "absolutely no adverse side effects" from taking TRT. None! The testosterone in the injections is exactly the same as what your body makes naturally and all you are doing is replacing what your body is not producing. However having said that, there is one side affect if you plan on having children because it will lower your sperm count and you'll become virtually infertile. So if you want children have them first before taking Test. This infertility can be reversed if you stop taking Test but it will take awhile for your body to recuperate, at least 8 weeks or more, probably more like a couple months. The only way to find out for sure if your Test is low or why it is low is to have a blood test measuring several factors that could cause low test, e.g. your LH & FSH hormones, prolactin, the aromatase enzyme, & your testicles production. My diagnosis was "idiopathic hypogonadism" which means the reason is unknown why my testicles were not functioning normally. Ironically my doctor is in WV but might not be close to you since he is in Petersburg and also in Mt Storm. He's at the VA clinic in Petersburg and his private practice in Mt Storm, Dr. Alan Kunkel but my advice would be go see an Endocrinologist or a Urologist, not some general practitioner. There are also Hormone Replacement Therapy Clinics in some of your larger cities that specialize in this. If you need any more information you can contact me @ [email protected] I'm very familiar with TRT and also the use of steroids having used both in the past 20 yrs.
P.S. If you go to the following site they have a section on HRT where you can read about personal experiences from guys who are using Test & HGH.Hormone Replacement Therapy, Longevity, Wellness, Anti-Aging, Alternative Medicine < http://forums.steroid.com/ >
Question: GAIN weight??? but healthy???? My friend is trying to gain weight, so SHE wrote me this:
"only healthy food wouldnt be good for me, cos i am too skinny!"
that's just WRONG to say!!!! so i wrote her this:
"""well the right way to gain weight is the healthy way girl!!! there are so many things you could do!!!.. like eat more foods with proteins, carbs, and fat! but when i say that i mean it in natural products!!!... like you could eat more wheat bread, brown rice, wheat pastas, beans, tons of nuts (carbs and fat), avocadoes have natural fats too, potatoes (red potatoes are better cuz it has more vitamins or benefits).. now related with excersices, i heard that for gaining weight you need to do weights!! but im not sure of that.. maybe cuz it makes you build muscles... and of course you need to eat more... what you need to check is if your body is actually absorbing the nutrients it needs or if its just expelling it!!! cuz that can happen"""
WHAT ELSE CAN BE DONE (healthy)??? AND DID I SAY SOMETHING WRONG?
i also told her to go with a Dietitian to do a stool test and a blood test to see what nutriets she needs and what's her body expelling
Answer: I think what you said is generally correct. Eating junk food to gain weight is unhealthy - eating saturated fats, etc., can clog her arteries and cause other problems.
You can send her to sparkpeople.com (or if she's a teen, sparkteens.com) where she can set up a free account and get advice on how to gain weight in a healthy manner. (It's not just a weight loss site.)
