Answer: Low Carb Dieting Tip
Your rate of metabolism dictates how many calories you burn. Heredity, gender, age, body size. diet and nutrition, activity level, and your overall health factor in on determining how high or low your metabolism is. It is normal for metabolism levels to lower as a person ages. Because of this it is important to begin stepping up your exercise routines in your thirties and forties.
Ways to Boost Your Metabolism
Eat Regularly - Eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day will give you energy throughout the day--helping you to burn calories. Whereas, calories eaten during larger meals tend to get stored as fat.
Maintain a Balanced Diet - Not only how often you eat is important, but your food choices are equally as important. Nurture you body with the appropriate balance of protein and carbs.
Eating whole foods rather than processed food gives your digestive system a workout that burns calories. For example: choose an apple over apple juice.
Workout with Weights - Building muscle mass will replace stored fat. As you build muscle tissue your metabolism increases.
Don't Forget Cardio - You need to get that heart rate up and breathe a little heavier. Twenty to thirty minutes of cardiovascular activity 5 days a week is recommended. Brisk walking or swimming are good. Or utilize exercise equipment (exercise bike, treadmill, or elliptical trainer)
Fruits and vegetables are clearly an important part of a good diet. Almost everyone can benefit from eating more of them, but variety is as important as quantity. No single fruit or vegetable provides all of the nutrients you need to be healthy. The key lies in the variety of different fruits and vegetables that you eat.
Some basic fruit and vegetable tips:
•Try to eat more fruits and vegetables. If you need 2,000 calories a day to maintain your weight and health, aim for at least nine servings (4½ cups) a day.
•Choose a variety of different fruits and vegetables. It's easy to get into a rut when it comes to the food you eat. Break out and try a wider variety - include dark-green, leafy vegetables; yellow, orange, and red fruits and vegetables; cooked tomatoes; and citrus fruits.

Question: what is the best diet program to go on? i want to reduce my weight 10 kilogram to be more healthy, what is the best diet program to go on.
Answer: Weight Watchers is the only diet scientifically proved to lose weight in a healthy way.
Question: What is the best diet program for vegetarians? I really want to lose like 10 to 15 pounds before summer. All the diet plans I've seen include meat. I am a vegetarian and need a good plan to follow. (If you're going to tell me to eat fish, then don't answer because you don't know anything about being a vegetarian. Not trying to be rude but I get sick of explaining that you are not a vegetarian if you eat fish)
Thanks!
In response to the person who said I shouldn't feel guilty for eating meat because it's in the bible. I know what the Bible says about eating meat, believe me I scoured the pages befor ei decided to go veggie. What finnaly did me over was the fact that the Bib;e was written thousands of years ago, way before factory farming or the needless abuse and cruelty of the animals that are killed for food today. Back then the animals roamed around in a pasture and lived happy lives until the were killed. Today things are much different. Please head on over to www.goveg.com or www.peta2.com and check out the videos they have there. I highly suggest "Meet your meat."

Question: Which would be the best diet program for me? I'm 15, 5'3", and 135 pounds. I've been down to 122 about 4 months ago, but I got it all back again plus more.
My goal weight is 110. I LOVE food. I plan to be a chef when I grow up and I know (and NEED) good food. I have no problem eating healthy foods, as long as they're flavorful and not in tiny little portions (like some diet foods are).
I HATE excersing. I know, I should just suck it up and excercise, but I cry when I get on a treadmill. I really can't do it.
I know what foods are fattening and what are not, that's not my problem. I need something concrete that will motivate me and help me stay on task with my dieting (something like Nutrisystem, where you don't have to make any decisions yourself).
I've thought about Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers, and eDiets, but I'm still not sure...
Any ideas for a diet program?
Answer: you do not need a fad diet
follow good healthy eating habits and work out 3 times a week for
30 min.
Question: What is the best diet program for a stress eater who needs to lose a few pounds? Slow weight loss is OK. Nothing unhealthy, please.
Answer: I would suggest getting rid of every unhealthy snack in your house. If its not there then you won't eat it right? :) Instead buy healthy snacks that you enjoy and that are low calorie too. Limit yourself to a few a day whenever you are feeling stressed or hungry.
Question: What is the best diet program you have tried? What did you think of Weight Watchers, NurtiSlim, MediFast, Jenny Craig, ect. Pros and cons? Thanks!
Answer: Weight Watchers: tried and true, sensible, effective. You can eat normal food just like everyone else. Therefore, you are learning real skills as you lose the weight. You can apply what you learn to everyday life. There is no "special food" that teaches you nothing once you are finished losing the pounds you hope to lose.
Good Luck!
Question: what is the best exercise or best diet program to lose weight? i've been wanting to lose extra pounds and been buying books and equipment for it but nothing really worked...eating a little and even tried diet pills but still no effect
Answer: I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.
Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.
First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...
This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.
However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.
Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.
Question: What is the best diet/program to help you lose weight? I would like to lose 20 lbs but also in a healthy way. I go to the gym 3-5 days a week and eat pretty healthy but nothing seems to work. I'm getting a lot more muscle but that is making it to where my jeans won't fit so i prefer to tone out. Any suggestions?
Answer: This one is working for me, it teaches you a healthier lifestyle:

Good luck!
Question: What is the best diet program/pill you have tried? Don't bother with a generic answer such as "eat right and exercise".
Answer: For diet, I have found that Atkins Nutritional Approach has worked best for me because I am a carb addict. I've lost almost 40 lbs so far and feel great. And those myths about it being bad for you and ruining your cholesterol are lies, the diet is perfectly healthy. I also did Weight Watchers for a while and it's a very good program (just didn't work for me). Most programs are good, it just depends how well you can stick to them. I liked Nutrisystem too, but it was expensive and the food became boring for me...but it definitely worked. Try a few things out to find a program ideal for you. As for exercise, find something that is fun for you. I love TaeBo and I also use an elliptical machine often. Good luck :)
Question: What is the best workout / diet program for me? My background: 25 year old male, 6'2", 180 lbs, basically fit and trim. I've been doing Matt Furey's combat conditioning, eating less than 2000 cals/day and doing about 30 pull ups daily. I look and feel fit, but I have kind of a wiry look.
My objectives:
1. exercise no more than 30-60 mins a day.
2. eat well, but on a budget(!) approx. $10/day
3. gain strength, size to arms / torso
4. put on a little muscle weight/size without having to consume too many calories
5. avoid using free weights / machines, if possible, as I don't have them
I'm not a crazy anorexic or anything, but I believe that consuming as few calories as possible will lead to a longer life.
So I really want a lifestyle that is healthy and sustainable. IE: I don't want consider the consumption of 5000 calories worth of expensive placebo supplements sustainable.
What is the best workout and diet program for me? Thanks a million!
Answer: The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm
Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.
Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm
Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html
It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.
*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:
http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/carbohydrates.html
Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/PyramidLRG.gif?osCsid=26a424be471d1337e7c2f105d5c64d9d
*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.
Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. A great book to buy that teaches you the resistance training basics is “Weight Training for Dummies”. A superb magazine to buy with resistance training routines that will not get you bored is "Muscle and Fitness". Signup for the free newsletter. An excellent free online resource is at http://www.exrx.net/
A good book to buy that teaches you the cardiovascular training basics is “Fitness for Dummies”.
*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.
*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A superb book to read is “You The Owner’s Manual”. An excellent periodic publication is the “Nutrition Action Health Letter”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com
Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier. Send me an email or yahoo instant message to "gainbetterhealth" if you want an indoor air purifier recommendation and if you have any questions.

Answer: Well first off calories are actually defined as energy. Empty calories are what you need to be concerned with. (Beer/alcohol, processed foods, sugars etc.)
Eating too few calories per day can also be bad for you. Especailly if you are active. I suggest you figure out your daily caloric needs before starving yourself.
Eating too little can lead to lethargia, muscle atrophy, poor energy levels, depression/mood swings, just for starters.
If your strength training for 30-60 minutes per day it is very important you consume your daily caloric needs as well as sufficient protein/carbs/fats. Otherwise your just waisting your time in the gym.
I consume 6-8 meals per day, consisting of 3-4 protein shakes which are cheap and full of vitamins and low calories. I suggest Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold Standard Whey as it is low calorie/fat plus it's cheap and tastes great.
I weigh about 170 and am currently around 8% body fat. My caloric needs are between 2400-2800 in order for me to maintain/bulk without adding body fat. My protien consumption is around 250-300g MAX per day.
Visit www.bodybuilding.com or www.forum.bodybuilding.com and search for daily caloric needs, etc. Play around in the forums also you'll learn a lot of beneficial knowledge. Here you will also find great deals on supplements as well as free info on training.
As far as training, look into the Body for Life program for starts. It will give you a great foundation
Question: What Is The Best Online Diet Program? I need to lose about 25 pounds this year and I'm planning on starting a new diet program. I've been looking around at some of the diets available online and I'm wondering if anyone has had success (or not) with any of them?
Answer: I think it has to be The Day Off Diet and I don't only say that because it worked for me, I also just think it's the diet that will most likely work the best for anyone else too. And it's just got the coolest features of any diet I've ever tried. The "day off" really does make the diet easier to follow because you always have that day to look forward to every week. And it's amazing how taking the "day off" actually made my weight loss speed up. So yeah, I'm definitely glad I found The Day Off Diet last summer.
Question: What is the best diet program out there that actually works? I am looking to loose 25 pounds
Answer: You're looking to lose 25 lbs by when?
You want a diet program? It's difficult because everybody is different, and what works for one person may not work for you.
The easiest thing to do is to make sure you consume less calories than you burn. That means that just diet alone, is probably not going to help you lose the 25lbs you want to.
You should start eating food low in calories and high in protein. Chicken and salmon are two of the best foods to eat.
You should also try to incorporate some kind of cardio routine on a daily basis.
One very important thing to do is drink plenty of water. Water will keep your body hydrated, which in turn will cut down on your body's desire to want to eat.
Question: What is the best healthy diet program and sport for fitness ? My length is 163cm and my weight is 55Kg , i want to slim down with a healthy diet program and great sport , please help me
Answer: The best advice I can give is not to eat any convenience food. If you can't prepare it into something proper then it's probably not good for you. (except for obvious things like vegetables)
For exercise, cycle everywhere
