Question: Bodybuilding supplements? I body build. Just wondering what supplements work the best and have the best results. Feel free to add your input.
Answer: I'm going to back-track a little bit because it's very important to understand the BASICS and misconceptions (while you may know this already). Supplement do just what the name implies; supplement the body. If you're serious about working out then you know protein and water are your best friends. You have to eat. Without eating you will get nowhere. When I started out I was working out and taking everything on the market (from creatine, to amino acids to gluatime etc.) I got nowhere. I took some advice from a freind and dropped the supplements and just ate really high quality food (with tons of protein) and I got MUCH better results then I had with supplements. Then I added the supplements and it all went hand in hand. Don't be fooled, keep it simple. As far as which supplements to go with (if your diet and work out regime is in check), stick with the basics creatine (great for energy), amino acids (once again aids proteins your already eating), protein drinks and bars (dont rely solely on them, but they are great for getting extra protein), glutamine (aids protein synthesis), and a good mulit-vitamin (to make sure your not missing anything). Once again eat, eat, eat and plenty of water. Good luck.
Question: Are there any bodybuilding supplements other than Creatine and Whey Protein that are worth it? Are there any bodybuilding supplements other than Creatine and Whey Protein that are worth it? That actually make your muscles bigger?
Answer: Tuna is the best for .49 -.69 a can its a great buy.
To gain muscle consume at least 2 -3 grams of protein per pound of body weight.
Be prepared to eat like a hog. lol
Next best is raw whole eggs put vanilla or cocoa & splenda, milk with eggs in a blender.
When reading food labels buy anything with the most protein & least calories & fat for the $ and eat like a hog!

Question: Can bodybuilding supplements like creatine and BSN's AXIS-HT negatively affect fertility in men? My wife and I are trying to have a baby, so I will lay off my bodybuilding supplements if there is any adverse affect on fertility or health of sperm/fetus/etc. Thanks for any guidance.
Answer: I don't think it does. I know a guy who has gotten his wife pregnant twice while taking a cocktail of that stuff, and everything was fine.
Question: Do you really need supplements for Bodybuilding? I have tried lifting with and without supplements and have seen minimal to no difference with or without them. Do we really need bodybuilding supplements to build muscles? What about Protein ? Do we really need to take 1 gram of it per pound of body weight?
Answer: You don't *NEED* supplements to gain muscle. It may help speed up the process, but they aren't necessary. The other thing to remember is that supplements are, by definition, something that is added to something that's already there.
For example, you ask about whey protein. If you are getting enough protein in your diet, you don't need a protein supplement.
Another thing, you need to make sure you're eating correctly. If you are trying to build muscle, you need to make sure you are getting enough calories.
And, finally, if you are doing intense weight training to build muscle, you should aim for between .75g and 1g of protein per pound of body weight each day. This doesn't mean drinking enough protein shakes to get 200g of protein. This means that all of your protein for the day should add up to that much.

Question: Does anyone know of any good bodybuilding supplements that can help you pack on mass? I am looking for a good bodybuilding supplement that will help you pack on alot of mass and muscle.
I want to get back in shape but I also want my muscles to build up and peak. any advice?
Answer: Unless you are actually going to compete in bodybuilding competitions, I would definitely not risk your health by taking some insanely potent testosterone, pro hormone, steroid or whatever supplements. These things can just positively be bad for your body, look at ex body builders, they have poor health in their later years because of the harsh supplements they took. I would suggest doing it the good old fashioned way by lifting weights, cardio, eating properly, and supplementing your diet with a good source of protein. If you are interested in good, high quality protein, then this is the site for you ---> http://www.buybulkwhey.com/?c=2279 Best of luck in your fitness goals, be healthy, be safe, be happy!

Question: How safe are bodybuilding supplements? I'm unable to convince 2 of my friends who know nothing about bodybuilding that supplements are perfectly safe and don't harm you're health. What evidence can I use to back my argument that they are safe? are they safe?
Answer: spplements are usually not safe as they are not normal to the body.......good diet and a good exercise program is best for physical health.....growth hormones sold in health food stors are NOT safe.....they can cause heart problems and other physical ailments....plus they cause your body to stop production of testosterone....... and if you quit the growth hormone your body will develop female like breasts because your body no longer produces testosterone
Question: Alternatives to BodyBuilding Supplements? I want to get into bodybuilding. I don't have the money for all the expensive supplements. Are there any cheaper and more natural alternatives? Thanks!
Answer: The nutritionists I talk to generally frown upon supplements and recommend the route you're taking. From personal experience I've always done the same, which is eat a healthy balanced diet and worked out regularly. As a result, I watched all my friends who were taking supplements bulk up, while I stayed about the same, only modestly more fit.
Then I start taking creatine, whey protein, energry drinks, etc, and pow- I put on weight, bulk, and started being able to lift more. I don't take the recommended doses though. I usually take about half of what it recommends. For creatine I only take one dose an hour before working out. I don't take it all day, where you try to "satuarate" your muscles with it. Remember, the supplement companies are in the business of making money and want you to take as much of that stuff as possible.
To answer the unwritten question, you're trying to "get into body building." Take it sloooooow. Like work out three times a week to start, and don't push yourself too hard. Everyone always wants to be hercules right at first, but body building and working out is a long road. People who work out every day hard for two weeks burn out quickly and never get anywhere.
I buy supplements online but just stick to creatine and protein. They also sell them at Trader Joe's now too, which may be cheaper still. People will tell you to eat eggs, steak, or whatever. Supplements work, which is why people take them.
Question: What bodybuilding supplements work to make you stronger in the gym? Im so sick and tired of reading flex magazines seeing products that seem like they work but when i try them out I just use the bathroom and get bloated and feel fat. Are supplemens really crap does Jay Cutler and other bodybuilders use Steroids and just make money seeing phony products I thought steroids are illegal please let me know wha supplements will turn me into a pro bodybuilder I do workout and eat good.
Answer: Lots of the products on the market are truly junk and have a lot of filler ingredients. As far as i'm concerned all pro bodybuilders are on the juice.
But there are some staples in building muscle and getting stronger. And a supplements do play a roll in most of those goals.
Protein
Creatine
L-Glutamine
Multiple Vitamin
BCAA's
and one supplement i have have felt a huge boost of energy which turns into feeling stronger is from superpump 250. If you are not familiar with Gaspari nutrition products this is there most popular one. Its a pre-workout supplement. You can read more about its results and side effects here... http://www.superpump-250.net
One last thing to mention is water, sleep and there is no substitute for a healthy well balanced diet.
You will get stronger no matter what if you follow this formula .....eat train grow.
Question: What are the efects of taking bodybuilding supplements if you are under age? I'm talking about creatine, weight gainer etc. Why the age limit? All supplements say for age 16 and over. And what is the best supplement for getting big muscles fast?
And how fast will they work and how much bigger should they get? Interesting one this is!
Answer: There are lots of reasons
1. you are still growing
2. everything you put through your body get filtered through your kidneys and liver, creatine can be very dangerous to your body if you don't properly hydrate yourself and I think these side effects can be magnified if you drink alcohol while on creatine as well
3. weight gainiers are waste of money in my opinion, I am 6'5 and when I was in high school I weighted only 150 pounds, I lifted, ate 4 or 5 meals a day and took all of the weightgainers I could, you body can only process so much protien and most of it just ends of coming right on out of you
4. odds are you won't be able to legally and truly bulk up very fast if you are still 16
5. I now take muscle milk, it is NOT a weight gainer it is a supplement that is to help you gain lean muscle but I find it is the most effective supplement I have taken and really helps with recovery after workouts
6. Now that I am 30 and weight a solid 225 it just takes time for your body to stop growing and get the chance to put weight on ( I really didn't put on the muscle or the weight I wanted until I was 23)
Best of luck but be careful what you are spending your money on and if you are going to take creatine be very careful to hydrate and follow all directions, and in my opinion skip the heavy calorie weight gainers you will literally be flushing your money down the toilet
Question: What are the most safe and effective non-steroidal bodybuilding supplements? I work out regularly and have a healthy diet but I'd like to lose more weight and increase my muscle mass as much as possible with the aide of a supplement. Any tips? Recommended supplements?
Answer: well first off its kind one or the other! either build mass, or lose fat. very hard to do both together since losing weight consists of low calories, and building muscle consists of eating more calories! LOL
but the best thing ive done and people i know have done to try to get lean and build mass. is eat healthy calories, but not really low. then take protien, creatine and argine. for getting bigger. also taking multi vitamins and fish oil and glutamine will aid in this goal. the n after lifting , do cardio cardio cardio!!!!!!!! taking a caffine pill helps with cardio, plus caffine helps burn fat.
those are the safest supplments, all the other stuff is alittle scary to take, unless you really know what your doing, and are a big time lifter.
Question: What are some bodybuilding supplements that have dry skin as a side-effect? One of my friends has been getting REALLY bad skin problems lately, and he complains that his skin is always dry. I suspect it might have something to do with his diet as he is a bodybuilder and might be taking some weird supplements (I will ask him later anyway.)
I was thinking that it might be creatine, but what else?
Answer: He's probably exceeding the recommended dosage. Probably thinking if a little is supposed to help - then a LOT will do more. WRONG!
Question: What bodybuilding supplements do you use? What are your favorite supplements?
Where do you buy them?
Answer: Online from SNDCanada.com and Biotest.com
Protein Powders....Testosterone booster...Spike(the tablet and the shooter)...Protein bars...Weight Gainer
Hot Rox sometimes if I want to look cut up
