Question: Ways to boost immune system? I get sick far too often. I am looking for natural ways to boost my immune system. I take a women's health vitamin every day, along with allergy medicine and a probiotic for digestive health. I am just sick of being sick! This is the third time in like 2 months that I've been so sick I had to stay home from work. Anyone have any advice on good immune system remedies?
Answer: I never get sick, sleep with someone with pneumonia once and didn't even get a sniffle.
I start my morning with a vegetable juice and throughout the day I drink powerded Vit C up to 5,000 - 10,000 mgms in doses of 1,000-2,000. If you start to get a little diareah that's a good thing, back off your dose as that is the body's way of saying I'm up to scratch now and stick to aroun 3,000-5,000 per day as a matter of course.
I eat lots of vegetables at both lunch and dinner and lay off processed foods and non organic animal products so I can steer clear of genetically modified ingredients, animal hormones and synthetic chemicals which laden the body down too much.
Eat an organic apple every day. You know the saying "An Apple A Day Keeps the Doctor Away".
I've dropped a good blog on immune vitamins below:
Question: How do I boost immune system the most? I have Bell's Palsy and apparently a strong immune system helps cure it, any advice (that's good) is welcome...

Everyone else thanks for all the advise, I'm very grateful.
Answer: The two natural antibiotics colloidal silver and garlic oil are both good immune system boosters.
Echinacea is only suitable for short term use and if you use it for a long term it is likely to actually weaken your immune system.
Question: How to boost immune system? I catch everything, seriously. I had mono in the past and since that time, I catch everything that goes around and it lasts twice as long as the average person. Any and all advice appreciated on how to boost my immune system.
Answer: To boost your immune system, you need to first avoid the things that weaken it such as junk food, toxins, stress, drugs, and sugar are some examples.
To boost it, here are many suggestions.
1) Keep practicing good personal hygiene care, wash your hands! The great plague of 1918 could have been avoided by practicing good personal hygiene.
2) get plenty of rest. During deep sleep, our body release potent immune-enhancing substances that strengthen your immune system function. By not allowing our body sufficient rest, the immune system will sputter, and as a result, not function at full capacity. We then are more likely to become ill with common illnesses. A healthy, deep sleep allows our body to release a significant amount of growth hormone that boost the immune system and aids in the growth and repair of the body.
3) get moderate and regular exercise
An increase in blood flow associated with moderate exercise helps to circulate antibodies along with white blood cells necessary to fight infection more quickly. As a result, this provides our bodies with an early warning system to ward off potentially damaging germs. In addition, the increase in body temperature as a result of physical activity may aid in inhibiting the growth of bacteria; thus allowing the body to fight infection more effectively.
4) Receiving a Regular Body Cleansing.
Body cleansing is essential because our bodies need to properly eliminate the toxic build up that has formed in our intestines (colon), which may lead to sickness and disease. Our body organs and tissues must be free of toxins for the immune system to function optimally thus enabling our bodies to receive the essential nutrients our bodies need.
5) Boost immune system by drinking plenty of filtered water.
Water is essential for all living things and keeps our immune system operating optimally while improving the way we feel, look and live. Without sufficient amounts of water, you may experience routine fatigue, dry skin, headaches, constipation, and a decrease normal bodily function which may lead to your body unable to fight off diseases. Without water we would literally dehydrate which could result in the shutting down of vital organs and ultimately end in death.
6) Eliminate all sugar and allergens from your diet.
Just a small amount of sugar has been proven to impair white blood cells up to 50% for very short periods of time. By discovering what our personal food allergies are, then eliminating or desensitizing them will help strengthen your immune system. By removing these triggers, our immune cells are strengthened in order to combat other invaders such as influenza rather than the allergen. The elimination of sugar from your diet can also strengthen immune system.
7) Eat nutritiously
Good foods to eat include organic fruits and vegetables, chloretta, medicinal mushrooms like maitake, shiitake, reishi, or turkey tail. Besides water, wheatgrass juice, aloe vera juice, or green tea are good drinks. If it doesn’t rot or sprout, do without.
Stay away from junk food like pop, bake goods, any processed foods. Bad foods contain stuff like refined sugar, sodium nitrite, Trans fats, Mono-sodium glutamate (MSG), Artificial colors, preservatives, and flavors.
8) Take supplements
Supplements are needed because our bodies can not produce the nutrients necessary to maintain optimum health. There are many nutrients needed in order to maintain a strong immune system. It is very challenging in the world we live in to obtain sufficient nutrition with the foods available to us. They are over processed and void of many essential nutrients. Additionally, food is grown in soils that have been over-planted and saturated with synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Vitamin and mineral deficiency subjects us to more diseases, aging, sickness, and the weakening of our immune system.
Best herbs include echinacea, goldenseal, garlic, olive leaf extract, elderberry, or astragalus.
Best vitamins include Vitamin A, C, or E. These are a good source of antioxidants, which will boost your immune system.
The minerals zinc and selenium also help with boosting your immune system.
As you can see, there is no one magic cure, one supplement, or one way to boost his immune system, but there are many things you can do to help yourself!

Question: How would I naturally boost my immune system? Because of my chronic pain I have a very low immune system and I'm constantly feeling out of it and getting sick. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can naturally boost my immune system to help make my day to day life more fulfilling and healthy?
Answer: Pain does not cause a low immune system. Whatever ailment causes the pain might. But not pain itself. And pain is a symptom that something is wrong. It is your body saying 'Hey wake up I am not working right'. You need to address the source of the pain first and foremost. As for your immune system, eat your veggies and fruits and take a multivitamin and limit your salt and sugar intake. If your not big on fruits and veggies, get a juicer and make a veggie juice with a fruit to make it palatable and drink it down. Make sure you get your protein and carbs too. And find exercises that you can do and do thirty minutes a day.
Basically just eat a healthy diet and find a doctor that can properly address your pain issue. Second, third, 4th opinion and so on until you get results.

Question: How can I naturally boost my immune system? I've been sick for over a month! First it was a mild cold, followed by a horrible ear infection then my ever lasting horrible migraines, after that bronchitis and now a sinus infection. GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!
I hate being sick!
I don't eat meat, or eggs, I have milk and cheese about 3 to 4 times a week, but that's it.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can change my diet or what I need to take to be healthier and boost my immune system?
I'm tired of being sick =(
Answer: As long as you are having these types of infections, you should limit or cut out whole milk until you feel better, because it can help create excess mucous in the body. 70 % of our immune system fighters are created in the intestines. That being said, you need to be taking probiotics - especially since you probably have been taking antibiotics. They kill all the good flora in your intestines as well as the bad, making your health worse. Go to your local health food store and pick up probiotics and also can pick up DanActive in your local food store. Take both. I don't know what you are eating to replace the proteins and minerals you are not getting by avoiding meat and eggs but you need good quality protein and minerals etc. If you don't know about combining vegetable based foods to create full proteins, get a book called Diet for a Small Planet, by Frances Lappe. It will show you how to create full proteins from food combos like rice & beans etc. Last but not least, take 4,000 mgs. Ester-C daily until you feel better, also a B50 complex, and a good multivitamin. Lots of juices of both veggies and fruits. Herbal teas or just regular tea is good too. Also try no-flush niacin for the headaches.
Question: Is there anything I can feed my cat to boost her immune system? My cat had a lot of complications when she had her kittens and ever since has seemed to have a very weak immune system. I've tried to find something (through searches online) to give it a boost, but all I can find are herbal remedies. I was sort of hoping for something she would actually want to eat.
Answer: Cat food that does not have by-products or corn in it for a start. Giving 250 to 500mg of lysine powdered over the food once a day can help a bit, it's an amino acid. Having her eat some raw meat or baked chicken (no skin, coating or bones) is another.
Transfer Factor is one thing you might look into, but usually it's the diet that gives the biggest immune system boost.
