Answer: If you are trying to get pregnant it is a good idea to be taking prenatals now. A friend of mine had a baby with spinal bifida, which is from a lack of folic acid really early in your pregnancy (like the first two weeks before you even know you are pregnant) which could have been prevented if she had started prenantals while trying to concieve. You can buy prenantal pills pretty much anywhere. I am pregnant and even though my doctor gave me a prescription, the pharmacist told me it would be cheaper than my copay to just pick up a bottle off the shelf. I know they have them at Walmart, Target, Rite-Aid, Walgreens, etc. Headaches are a sign of many things, but all of my pregnancies have started that way,so maybe you are pregnant. Usually once you start having symptoms you will test positive within a week or so of them, so you shouldpick up a EPT or similar early test. Good Luck

Answer: Truth be told, any answer given here will just be personal opinion (I can give you my opinion if you'd like). There are many higher quality companies out there that are readily available and well priced... just make sure the company has a good rating with either the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) or USP (U.S. Pharmacopoeia), as those are the main quality assurance organizations (USP is for the U.S., GMP is for the U.S. and worldwide). Technically, the FDA actually does evaluate vitamins and supplements, but not directly. They do require certain limitations on the companies (that they can't make claims that aren't based on facts and research, that they have to meet at least what the bottle says is on it, etc)... if they don't meet the basic quality requirements and/or if there are enough complaints or contamination issues, the company can and will be shut down by the FDA. Most all of the companies with even halfway decent quality will have some testing to keep the FDA at bay. Canada does have different laws and regulations (plus they are outside the FDA's jurisdiction), so it's more important to look for the GMP label if it's made outside the U.S. (although you're likely to see some with USP anyway). Another thing to note is that there are some supplements that the Canadian government won't allow to be sent in or sold in Canada without certain restrictions (a prescription, for example).
