Question: calorie intake? i know this is going to be a dumb question but when it comes to this calorie crap i am up the walls lost so please help me to understand this better, ok so my calorie intake is 1400 now am i supposed to be eating 1400 calories a day in order to lose weight? and i have read that in order for me to lose weight i need to burn more then what i am intaking? is that correct, so if i am supposed to be taking in 1400 calories a day i have to work out more then that? i'm so lost please helpp thanks.. oh b.t.w i'm 5'9 and at 184 am looking to drop 40 lbs thanks
Answer: Assuming that you do have a routine fitness cycle, then you could be eating more than 1400 calories per day. BUt since you want to loose weight That seems like a reasonable amount. YOu are constantly burning calories, even as I'm typing you're burning calories. When we lose weight we are using more calories than we have taken in. That requires the body to use exess fat for energy. Here's a web sight that tells you how much calories you burn by doing certain excersizing.http://www.weightlossresource.com/tools/exercise/calculator1_2.cfm
Good luck on losing weight! Remeber that its okay to cheat sometimes, if we completely deprive ourselves form the stuff we love we won't last long in the diet
Bye!
Question: Calorie Intake? I'm thinking of reducing my calorie intake to like.. one meal a day, with one snack a day, and drinks of course. Any comments on that? I seriously dont know what to do to lose weight! Ive tried EVERYTHING! Strict dieting, excersizing, counting calories. Nothings working :(
How would I go about doint he six small meals a day thing? What kind of meals would they have to be?
Answer: You could have a hormone imbalance or a thyroid problem. If you can honestly say you gave the diet and exercise your very best shot, and you truly are overweight, you may want to consider a doctor. And no matter what the situation, your body benefits MUCH more from six small meals a day rather than one meal.
Think of your metabolism like a campfire. If you want it to burn really hot and really fast, it's better to throw a bunch of small sticks on it multiple times instead of one massive log.

Answer: trying to put on 100 lbs as quickly as possible is not a good idea. most of it would be fat. just lift weights and eat a butt load of food.
Question: What should be my calorie intake be if I want to lose weight? I'm a 14 and 9 month year old female, 5 feet tall and 135 pounds. I'm going to start a daily workout routine of working out for about an hour swimming and riding a stand still bike but i dont know what my calorie intake per day should be.
Answer: Don't worry about your caloric intake. Instead, focus on your fat and sugar consumption. Fat is the true source of being overweight, and it is not caused by calories. Here is what you do:
-Wake up, eat a light breakfast (banana, yogurt, etc)
-Exercise
-Eat protein (eggs, milk, etc) This helps to build your muscle faster. Having more muscle increases your metabolism
- Don't worry about every little thing you put in your mouth. Don't count calories. Simply eat healthy, drink water, and eat only when you're hungry. Don't eat out of boredom (thats everyone's downfall).
Good luck! (Oh, and you're 5 feet and 135 lbs? Honey, you're not overweight!
Question: What is the average daily calorie intake for a 12 year old girl? Well my question is pretty simple... I just want to know what my daughters daily calorie intake is... she is 12 years old and is relatively active.

Question: What should my calorie intake be while I am trying to lose weight? I am 5'4 and 147 lbs. I would like to get down to 125-130 over the next few weeks. I am not going to starve myself, I just enjoy food too much. I will be walking 3 times a week, for a least an hour. What should my calorie intake be? I always see a mention of a 2,000 calorie a day diet, is that to maintain your weight? I kicked the fiber up in my diet too. Any suggestiona on the best way to do this.... and the healthiest?
Answer: 2,000 calories is based on a diet for men. If you are a woman, that should be 1,800 calories/day. If you are a woman trying to lose weight, you should drop that down to 1,500 calories/day - 1,600 calories//day.
I would add resistance training to your routine, and up the number of days that you walk to 5 or 6. As you get used to that routine, increase your intensity by jogging.
Eat a balanced diet of fruits and veggies, lean protein, low-fat dairy, whole grains, and lots of water.
Question: How can you calculate your Calorie intake? I want to be on a LCD (Low calorie diet ), but how can i calculate my calorie intake if i eat out? I work as an Executive Assitant to a Boss who's always on the move, and he requires me to be with him at meetings. So most of the times, we eat out. And the waiters can't help me by giving me information about what i am eating, such as the carlorie and carb. So is there a table where i can look up the calorie for each type of food?
At the moment my diet consists of a full glass of Low Fat Hi-Calcium Milk with 2 slices of multi-grain wheat bread for breakfast. Lunch is usually at some high-end restaurant, then there would be high-tea at 3pm and followed by dinner at another high-end restaurant. This is somewhat the daily routine.
Answer: http://www.calorie-count.com/ is a great website to find the calorie content of just about anything. If you sign up(which is free) You can calculate the amount of calories you need, your BMI, create a food log, graph your progress, etc. It's really great.
