It has to be 'melted' before it can be used, right? My coconut oil is hard in the bottle!
Answer: Coconut oil is so good for you. It can protect against heart disease, help with digestion and help the immune system. Its one of the only oils in the world that stays good for you when its heated. Millions of Asians use it daily and they have the lowest rate of heart disease in the world. I use it also as a moisturiser on my face and hair because its natural - no toxic chemicals. I've started using it for all my cooking, even frying eggs, baking cakes etc. I even give it to my dogs.

Question: what is the difference between coconut oil and virgin coconut oil? im looking for a new remedy for my hair and body and i've finally come across something that i can really depend on.. COCONUT OIL!
but i've been googling and youtubing and i see that there two differnt types of coconut oil.. one looks like its an actual coconut oil, you know, all transparent and stuff. and the other one is very condensed and white and thick... and i was wondering if the condensed coconut oil is just plain coconut oil and not the virigin type..
help!
Answer: Virgin coconut oil is made from pressed fresh coconuts. Non virgin coconut oil is made from coconuts which are dried first and then pressed. The main difference is that virgin tastes and smells like coconuts while non virgin does not. Either type will solidify into a white solid as it cools or can be processed so that it stays solid.

Answer: No less oil then butter compare with chart below.
Question: What healthful oil would be compatible with coconut oil, so I can mix and lower the melting point below 76deg? I want to apply the coconut oil on the heels of the feet to kill a fungus.
Also, I want to use the coconut oil for oral oil pulling to improve gum health.
Answer: It will melt when you put it in your hand (body temperature will melt it quite quickly) - so you can apply it right out of the jar....
Though I dont know that it will do much for either of those conditions.
Question: What is the difference between Raw Coconut oil and Extra Virgin Coconut oil? Looking for good natural oils for my skin and ran across raw coconut oil and extra virgin coconut oil? Also if you know any other oils that are good for the skin that would be great!
Thanks!
Answer: Raw coconut oil is not as refined and pure as extra virgin coconut oil. Extra virgin coconut oil is from the first pressing and collection of the coconut oils. Whats left over after that is raw coconut oil, and the rest goes on to other uses as well.
Question: What is the difference between coconut oil capsules and the regular oil itself? Is their a difference between the pill form from the oil form. Which type should I get to help have a bowel movement everyday also. Sorry I know TMI! Is there a difference between virgin coconut oil and the regular coconut oil? Any info with someone that has used it would be great! Please tell me if it has helped with anything! Thanks
Answer: I have used virgin coconut oil. I love it!! It does help with digestion. I do not suggest the pill form. Take it natural, out the jar.. U just have to get used to the texture. You will need a little juice after you take it at first. Good luck!
Question: What is the difference between virgin and pure coconut oil? I have heard really great things about using Virgin Coconut Oil on your skin. BUT when I went to look at my local grocery stores they only carry "Pure" Coconut Oil. I bought some but I am afraid it will clog my pores or something. Can anyone tell me if it is ok to use or should I go to the health food store and find Virgin Coconut Oil? Thanks so much!!!!
Answer: Virgin and pure coconut oil are the same. Although if its labeled virgin you can be sure that it has no chemical process.Virgin coconut oil is the best for your skin,it absorbs quickly and helps skin retain its suppleness.

Question: What is the difference between regular coconut oil and MeritVCO extra virgin coconut oil for your hair? I was told to leave in some coconut oil for a few minutes everyday before getting into the shower to rinse it off. I just want to know what's the difference between regular and extra virgin coconut oil and which one would be more beneficial for my hair.
Answer: Don't be mislead by the term "extra virgin" when used in conjunction with coconut oil. This term is borrowed from the olive oil industry and there is no such product or existing standard that can be applied to coconut oil production. If you see the term "extra virgin" be assured that it is simply a marketing ploy to encourage you to believe that the oil has something more to offer than virgin coconut oil.
Question: Where can I buy palm oil, coconut oil, or palm kernel oil? The Save-on-Foods closest to my house carries Dulhan brand coconut oil 500 mL and it is quite hard and almost waxy/flaky. I believe it may be hydrogenated. What I would like to know is where I can purchase a larger quantity of this (maybe a few liters), preferably in a store, but if not, online. In other words, I don't want the health industry's extra virgin coconut oil; I want the coconut oil shortening. Also, where (again, preferably in a store) can I find palm and palm kernel oil? Thanks a bunch.
Answer: Any Indian or Thai grocery store will carry all of these in larger quantites. Also, some brands of coconut oil do have the tendency to be hard and waxy when at room temp. Check the ingredients to see if it is hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated. When it hits the heat, it will melt.
The "Dulhan" brand is definitely an Indian brand, it actually means "bride".
You can do a Yahoo/Google search for non hydrogenated coconut oils:

Question: does coconut oil and vinegar really work to keep spiders out of your house? someone told me that this works, but where do you buy coconut oil? I'm in Pittsburgh, PA.
Answer: It is said to work. Also, below are some other home remedies for spider control.
A Natural Spider Spray Formula for inside the house:
Dr Bronners Peppermint or Lavender Soap, or any other natural soap.
1 ounce of Neem oil
You can also add 1 to 5 drops of any of these Essential Plant Oils (depending on your preference) to 1 quart of water:
Catnip Oil, Citronella Oil, Lavender Oil, Cinnamon Oil, Peppermint Oil, Citrus Oil, Tea Tree Oil, or other essential oils.
Add 5 tablespoons of the soap per quart water. Add one ounce of the Neem oil to the water which you have added the soap and label it. Shake well and spray inside house where spiders are seen. Test for strength. May be done as often as needed. This is not a long term solution but will provide you immediate help. Oils may stain some fabrics or light colored furnishings, test first.
Spray outside the house:
Use the same formula to spray the foundation, eaves and soffits, and the areas around doors, windows and crawls space, or attic vents, or any area where you see spiders congregating. You can also use any citrus based cleaner like Citra Solv at 1 oz per quart water. Spray around the outside of the house or where spiders congregate.
Spiders are actually quite beneficial and we should try to get used to them.
Question: Is coconut oil good to use for ear stretching? I usually use jojoba and holy butt'r, but I was just curious about coconut oil.
Answer: A naturopath would be able to properly consult with you on this matter.
Although I have heard of people using it for stretch marks. That said, it may be more useful to stick to what you've been using and just consume some coconut oil daily. The book "Eat Fat Lose Fat" ( http://www.amazon.com/Eat-Fat-Lose-Healthy-Alternative/dp/0452285666/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1277053774&sr=8-1 ) goes into detail about the possible benefits of using coconut oil.
Question: Is it hygenic to use coconut oil as a lubricant? I have been using some Jelly as Lubricant during my bedtime. I wanted to know if using Coconut oil or any kind of natural oils is hygienic and can be used without any side effects. Expecting answers from medical practitioners or some body in Gynach field.
Answer: I wuld cunsult a Dr. just to make sure. But I believe that you should be good to go. Coconut oil is very healthy and natural... So it can be used for a lot of things...
Thanks

Question: What are the benefits of using coconut oil? I heard coconut oil is healthier. I have started cooking in it and it is sweeter and do not absorb in your food like other oil.
Answer: The health benefits of coconut oil include hair care, skin care, stress relief, maintaining cholesterol levels, weight loss, increased immunity, proper digestion and metabolism, relief from kidney problems, heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, HIV and cancer, dental care, and bone strength. These benefits of coconut oil can be attributed to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid, and its properties such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, soothing, etc.
Coconut oil also has less calories than other oils and doesn't accumulate in arteries as much.
Question: What benefits have you experienced from using coconut oil? Have you had any benefits from comsuming coconut oil? I've heard of the benefits of coconut oil and I'm curious about what benefits people who have used it have found. I'm looking for info from people who actually consume coconut oil. I know that there is some controversy about coconut oil not being a good fat.
Answer: I eat virgin organic coconut oil every day. I've heard great things about it, but I haven't felt these benefits yet - probabaly due to the fact that I am already fit and healthy.
