Answer: Red Wine is high in antioxdinants, spirits are full of sugar and increase your heartrate, beer full of carbs and increase your waist size..if you have to have a drink 2 glasses of red.
Question: What is the underage consumption punishment? I got an underage consumption charge in Athens, Ga in September and I have a court date scheduled. What is the normal punishment for first time offenders as far as consumption goes? Will I have to go through a program involving community service or what? I don't want to get a lawyer but might need to. My court date is actually very soon, is there a way to ask the judge to continue the case and meet at a later date if I can't get a lawyer in time?

Good Luck
Question: Is the consumption of alcoholic drinks legal in cooking or travel shows? Is the consumption of alcoholic drinks legal in cooking or travel shows. The Travel Channel and Food Network shows (such as Racheal Ray's $40 a Day) show the hosts drinking. Are they really drinking or are they drinking apple juice and water?]
I was always under the impression that they are drinking real alcohol because the purpose of them being there is to tell us about the food and drink of certain places.
It's the same with reality shows correct?
Answer: Why would it be illegal? Provided the show's hosts are old enough to drink, they should be allowed to do so whether they are being filmed or not.
It's possible that aren't actually drinking though, because often they'll need to do several takes, and if they keep drinking the wine in every take, they might end up to drunk to do the next scene!
Question: What is the overall current consumption of a computer for one hour? I want to know what is the overall current consumption of the computer for one hour. Is it less or more. It would be more convenient if i get data based on the current consumption of each hardware with numerical data.
Answer: Purnima's answer is almost correct except the fact that she totally forgot to add electricity consumption of Hard-disk drive, RAM, CPU fans, CD/DVD burners, Graphics cards etc.....
and one more thing, these days the processors(CPU) are highly energy efficient, they work on just 10% of their total potential consuming a lot less energy when you are just web browsing or chatting or reading e-books etc(in short, not doing anything that requires extensive CPU utilization)
for exact consumption, you'll need to install a meter in between your PC power chord and the power outlet, and the your 1 hour consumption can't be taken in just one hour, you'll need to make a statistical data of how long u used your pc and how much it consumed that time, and 10 days record will be enough to get you what you need(this is how i done it, mine uses an avg of 130 watts and during the night time when monitor is turned off, it just uses 45 watts, less than a tubelight)
Question: What is the relationship between consumption and disposable income? What is the relationship between consumption and disposable income, called the consumption function and the one between saving an disposable income, known as the savings function.
Does somebody know some good wesites where I can read about this topic?
Answer: Consumption function _is_ the relationship between consumption and disposable income, namely it's a function that gives you the consumption amount given any disposable income. Same for savings function.
Consumptions should add up to disposable income. Consumption cannot be negative, but savings can be, if we allow for borrowing or have an open economy. If savings are can be negative, consumptions can exceed disposable income.
Finally, it is commonly assumed that consumption is an increasing function of disposable income.

Question: How do LED lamps reduce consumption of electricity if they are connected via resistors? I have read that LED lamps reduce the consumption of electricity to a great extent. But are they connected to the circuit along with resistors? In such case how they reduce the consumption of electricity?
Answer: Despite using resistors and making some heat, they are efficient, in that more of the power goes to making light rather than heat.
Question: How to measure the consumption of the paint applied on a car body in kilogram? How to measure the consumption of the paint applied on a car
if the area of the car is 70 meter sq, with 20 micron thickness on it.If the paint consists 18 % solid in it,and 2 % solvent, and 80% water ?Tell me the way and the formula with explanetion.( dip painting process)
Answer: weigh the car before and after it was painted. LOL
Question: What is the power consumption of a PC? I am becoming more & more into energy saving & know that domestic appliances etc have different energy efficiency ratings etc. Does anyone know what the power consumption of an average pc is (Not necessarily in units of electricity but as a comparrison with other electrical items) Also anyone have any other tips other than the generally known ones?
Answer: well generally speaking, about 350 watts
however, this can e controlled by the manufacuring tech- like 65 nanometers- the lower, the better energy efficent
intel new core cpu are based on 65 nm and they are planing on 45
AMD are offerimg both 65nm and 90 nm and says they well produce 45nm in2008
if you are running om pentium its probably 130 nm
from that propective new chips consume half the energy
of older ones for example, i have a pentium4 pc with 320watt
and a dedicated graphics card
while my macmini with integrated graphics is 110watt
graphics card are THE consumers
a sli or crossfire system needs a lot more, some need 1000watt
you know, another processor on the card
and a fan, a realy big one with all the new cards
so you will be more efficent if you only buy what you need
from a cpu to a gpu.
Question: How to calculate energy consumption of a refrigeration unit of a truck? To determine the fuel consumption of a refrigerated truck...
E.g. the energy required for a refrigerated unit to cool 25 m3 of space, how will the energy consumed reflect on the fuel consumption of the engine of the truck? And by cooling 12.5m3, half of the full volume, how do I determine the cut-down on energy consumption of the refrigeration unit?
Answer: it will seriously depend on how good the insulation is, and what is outside temperature is.
halving the volume will reduce energy by less than a half.
Question: How do you calculate the aggregate consumption function? I have a table of data listing the consumption (in dollars) of five individuals at 3 different income levels. I know how to calculate the individual consumption functions but how do I obtain the aggregate consumption function to describe the consumption for all the individuals of this economy?
Answer: Go here:
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumption_function
hope it helps.
Question: What should the average electricity consumption be for a 4 bedroom house? The electricity company bumped my price up to £120 per month - it is slowly coming down, but I wonder what the average consumption should be - the electricity company wasn't able to tell me!
Answer: We are a family of 4 living in a four bed house. We pay £50 per month for electricity and £50 per month for gas. I do turn off lights and use energy efficient bulbs. We are with Powergen for both. But I think the companies are all roughly the same.
Question: What is the difference between consumption externalities and production externalities? I'm trying to make up examples of consumption externalities, but I'm having trouble figuring out how they differ from production externalities. Any help? (Not asking for examples, just a way to figure them out myself)
Answer: An externality is something (event, action, combination of things) that exist despite the production or consumption itself.
When you buy a car you expect transportation; but it comes with head achy taxes, emissions, maintenance etc. You do get transported.
When you produce a car you expect to sell for a profit the process also involves proving that it is reasonably safe: having to crash test; reasonably emission free: emission testing; and perhaps getting a faulty reputation for something beyond your control. Cars do get produced.
Another way of looking at externalities is the Global effect of consumption, production. Burning coal for fuel harms the atmosphere. Eating a steak, causes a demand for cow, causing the rearing of cows which emit as much as 30 pounds of methane a day (flatulence and oral emission) which causes, adds to global warming. Interesting question.
Question: What attempts to limit alcohol consumption have been made in recent years ? What attempts too limit alcohol consumption have been made in recent years ? How efficent have they been ?
Answer: Cannot speak for all: But states have been force to stop people from enjoying alcohol all with poor (IMO) results.
People should learn how to consume alcohol. Best in the family where control is near absolute. Wine with dinner, Home Brewing.
Alcohol is a food.
One attempt that I have not seen advocated by the new Prohibitionist, is PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY with SEVER Consequences.
Driving impaired on whatever Loses your license for 2 years! No, need for work BS. If you need your car for work, then you did NOT need that last drink.
I acknowledge that women ought to be punished for drinking while pregnant, abuse to a minor (in uteri) ---
People ought not have to report to police/government about getting a drink. I read that beer kegs must have an ID tag on them and that the seller must take ones name/address/and ID # and be kept(60 days, in the non computer days), now it is forever.
States like to demonize sellers of alcohol --- but avoid the drinker. Heaven forbid that some psychology major at some state social agency will be out of a job, if she/he would admit the problem is not with the substance, nor its seller, it is with the drunk individual and not state program regardless of money spent can fix that.
Question: What is the average heating oil consumption for a home during the summer months in New England? I am trying to figure out if I am burning an unusually high amount of heating oil during the summer months. I had my 250 gallon tank filled in mid April and it ran out of oil today (10/12). 41 gallons a month seems like a lot of oil for heating water during the Spring, Summer and Fall. It is just my wife and I living in the house and we take average length showers once a day. Please let me know if my consumption is too high.
Answer: If you have your hot water heater as one of the zones of a hot water Central home heating system, your whole house furnace is running just to heat your hot water, in which case, that consumption would be about right.
If you have an oil fired hot water heater that consumption rate is way high.
Also you should check for leaks, and if the fill pipe is accessible to strangers, you may have a theft problem- get a locking cap.
Question: How do you calculate the Energy Consumption for recycling batteries vs. producing new ones? I need to find the energy consumption for both and compare using calculations. I can't seem to find any resources that explain this. Thank you so much in advance!
Answer: If you are talking car batteries they are heavily recycled, almost 90%. If your talking cell phone and computer batteries then it's not very successful.
There was a program on the "science channel" called "How things are made" . They had a show on recently about how lead is made and used in car batteries. If I can recall they said recycling car battery lead saves about 72% of the energy required to get new lead from the ground ore.
You might want to look up the website of that program and see if you can get the online program on lead production.
