Cuticle
Question: How can you get rid of cuticles without cuticle cream? Yeah I don't have any cuticle cream but I have cuticles that seem to be coming back every day. They're getting so annoying. How can I get rid of them without cuticle cream?
I don't have cuticle cream so that won't work. But they seem to be coming back like every day. I cut them with a nail cutter FYI but that doesn't work 'cuz they keep coming back! I think if I just cut them off, they'll just keep coming back so is there any other household cream I could use like Vaseline or something?
Answer: Use a cuticle cutter! Take care not to cut yourself.
Question: Is it bad to paint all the way to the cuticle when applying nail polish? I always paint all the way to the cuticle and sometimes over it, but i've noticed that manucurists don't, they start about a milimeter away from the cuticle. Also on the instructions that came with a bottle of opi start to finish base and topcoat it says to start painting 1/32 inch away from the cuticle.
So is it bad to get nail polish on the cuticle?
Answer: Hi yes it is bad, if you paint all the way to the cuticles you will 'flood' the actual cuticle which can cause damage, it won't seriously harm you if you get nail polish on your cuticles, but its always best to avoid, try painting one stroke down the centre of the nail and then a stroke either side. Hope this helps. xx
Question: Is a bleeding cuticle that is controlled properly an automatic fail for the Wisconsin Manicurist Practical? I just took my practical exam and my model's cuticle bled a little while I was filing one of her nail extensions. I controlled it by using 70% alcohol and discarded any materials that may have had her blood on them. Everything else went smoothly.
Answer: Im no expert but causing any kind of bleeding in a job that requires none is kind of bad.
Thats kind of like being a chiropractor and giving the patients bruises.
Question: How do crustaceans grow in the rigid cuticle in the period between a molting and next one? Do they loosen joints for growing or have spaces inside the cuticle?
Answer: Once formed, the arthropod cuticle does not grow, unlike the shells of molluscs and tortoises. Therefore, before an arthropod can grow, the old cuticle has to be shed and replaced by a larger one, a process known as moulting. During the moulting cycle, a new soft and high folded cuticle is deposited below the old cuticle. The arthropod then inflates its body with either water or air, causing the old cuticle to split along pre-formed lines of weakness and the old cuticle is usually cast off in one piece. Another inflation of the body expands the new cuticle before it hardens.
Another handicap of a rigid cuticle is the problem of insensitivity. This is overcome by the possession of bristles at the appropriate parts of the body. Most of these bristles are sensitive to bending (mechanoreceptors), though some act as chemoreceptors.
Question: What is the crescent pale circle near the cuticle on fingernails? I've just been noticing this on people's hands and I know I used to have them (I still do on my thumbs and big toes) but there is an inverted pale crescent shaped part near the cuticle on fingernails, which I don't seem to have on mine. It's bigger on some peoples nails than others. What is this and why is it a more pale color than the rest of the nail and why don't I have them?

Question: What happens if the fingernail has a bubble next to the cuticle? It is on the nail, but close to the cuticle. When you push down on it it is soft and squishy. It doesn't hurt, but I don't understand why there is an air bubble in the nail. Why did that happen? Is it an air bubble?
I discovered that is it a digital mucous cyst. What treatment would someone go about if it is under the nail?
Answer: It could be that there has been an infection in the nail bed and that part of the nail has died. It will eventually fall off and new nail will grow. If you are worried about it then see a doctor
Question: My cuticle on the sides of my nails turned orange, what should I do? I finished up with the Master Cleanse Diet 2 weeks ago (10 days of exclusively 8 oz purified water, 2 tsp maple syrup, 1/10 tsp cayanne pepper). A couple days of fresh OJ and water, then back to salads, and more traditional foods.
During it and afterward, I've noticed my cuticle on the sides of my nails turned orange.
I used to take a multi-vitamin daily along with B, C, E, which I haven't taken since.
I do eat some fruit daily now.
Everything else is the same. Thanks.
Answer: go to a doctor

Question: How come one little scratch on the nail cuticle causes it to fall apart? Does that happen to you?
I'm actually referring to the lunule, the part part of fleshy skin in front of the cuticle, but same diff.
Jerry D.... ummm... Okay... I think you're not exactly getting my question.
My nail is not dead and falling off.
Just referring to the strip of skin that wraps the base of the nail.
Answer: the cuticle is made up of thousands of protein cells, and the damaging of so many of them causes the protein in the outer membrane to die, and the nail's roots (protein in the outer cell membrane) come loose/apart. Then the nail falls off, having no more living cells which can function properly in it.

Question: How do you use cuticle remover? The cuticle remover that i have is sort of a jell or thick nail polish. I have no idea how to use it.
Answer: well I went to beauty scool but that has been years ago honey but I used cuticle remover from avon now and actually it comes in a small tube and a trace my cuticles with it leave it set for maybe 2 minutes then rub it into my cuticles only doing one hand at a time and then I have the cuticle cutters because I bit my nails all my life and quit and my cuticles grown over my nails all the time now so I cut them off which is tricky but they ususally on the lid of the tube you use the tip to push them back I use the cutters but this cuticle remover after setting a few minutes removes it for you when you push them back it just comes off which would be good for you if you only have a little bit of cuticles to remove . I have alot so if you are going to cut them and you must start at one end and try to cut it in a single strip edging over just a little at a clip which I can never do anyway so I end up going over them alot in return, a few days later the spot above your cuticles where your finger begins will get hang nails and you immediately have to cut them off I use my cuticle cutters. The better the job you do the less hangnails you will get. Hope this helps you this is just what I do
Question: How does crustaceans' soft tissue grow in the rigid cuticle in a period between a molting and the next one? Do they loosen joints or have spaces inside the cuticle?
Answer: There is some extra room after the last molt for additional growth. As that space is taken up, hormones inside the crustacean change and the next molting process starts.
Question: What's wrong with my finger, puss is coming out. The cuticle is gone, and the top looks bigger? My finger hurts when i push down on it, some liquid stuff is coming out where the cuticle used to be. At the top it's a little bigger than what it used to be. What's wrong with my finger?

Question: How do you use a double ended cuticle stick?I know one end is for pushing the cuticle back. What about V-shaped? I have a cuticle stick that has a metal end on it that is V shaped. What do you use it for?
Answer: Hi
I presume the one your talking about is metal and plastic. Your right that one end is to push the cuticles back and the Vshaped end is to trim the cuticles or hang nails.basically to just remove any dead skin cells that are unsightly. but be careful you don't wanna take to much off.
