Daily Complete Vitamins
Question: Do multi-complete vitamins really work if taken daily?
Answer: The funny thing is almost nobody feels any better when they take vitamins. And some people say that they aren't even absorbed by the body. Then some people say that one vitamin doesn't work unless you also get enough magnesium or calcium or phosphorous. It's a very difficult thing to sort out. I guess my answer is that I don't feel they've helped me.
Question: what is the best overall daily multivitamin or what vitamins can i put together for a complete daily intake?
Answer: I recommend Shaklee Basics. Contains Vita-Lea multi-vitamin/mineral, Vita-E, Vita-C, and B-Complex. Can also add the Energizing Soy Protein if desired.
I use these regularly and have had excellent results.
Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions.
Question: At 18 years old, should I be taking multi vitamins daily? I'm an 18 year old male, 6'4 185 pounds and I'm just wondering if taking a complete multivitamin daily is a good idea. I don't have a poor diet but, I don't have a remarkable one either. I just want to know if It could be bad for me.. especially an advanced multivitamin. If it is a bad idea, please recommend the best daily supplement I could take instead of the advanced multivitamin.
Thanks,
Answer: Yes you should; also, you can start taking an 81mg aspirin daily. This can help and prevent certain heart problems. Doctors advise this for people 30 and above, but it will not hurt to start now. Be aware that guys usually do NOT require iron..... Get a vitamin for men; they do not have iron.
Question: complete vitamin and fish oil? Can you take a "complete" daily vitamin and fish oil supplement together?
Answer: I do every day. Calcium should be taken alone........something about other pill interfering in the absorption. Take a lot of C, too! B complex is another good one.
Question: Would you take a single pill that gave you all your daily calories, and vitamins instead of eating.? A one per day complete food pill, nothing else needed.
Answer: No way. I enjoy the experience of eating - it is a time when I can sit at the table with my husband/ friends and talk about our life without distraction. I also enjoy cooking. It is a creative outlet for me which gives me a sense of achievement.
Plus I really hate taking tablets.
Question: Prenatal vitamins same as Flintstones complete vitamins? I went to my first OB appointment yesterday and when I was sent to see the nutrisionist, I told her that my prenatal vitamins are making me really sick. I didn't use to have any problem taking them before I concieved, but for the last month I have had a lot of problems tring to swallow them and I usually end up trowing up. I have been cutting them in half and it is much easier to swallow them but they still make me sick, so she told me to buy the Flintstones vitamins and she told me to take 2 a day. I did buy them yesterday and when I got home I compared the daily value on both, my prenatal vitamins have more daily values on each mineral an vitamin thant the Flinstons, however some match and some don't. Another thing is it says to take only 1 tablet for adults so I don't know if I should take 2. Has any of you done this before? My friend told me that the doctor prescribed her the chewables and they do taste better but I am afraid I will be getting too much or not enough. Serious posts.
Answer: No, prenatal vitamins are different from any other vitamins out there...even chewable childrens vitamins. The next time you're a the drug store, compare a bottle of prenatal vitamins to a bottle of Centrum. Prenatals are lower in several vitamins that can harm your baby in large doses. Vitamin A is one of them, but I can't remember the other.
Question: Which of the following vitamins is better for my 9 month old pitbull puppy? I have a healthy 9 month old, male, pit bull who weighs a 51 pounds. He's healthy, but tends to skip his food every here and there so we give him vitamins to make sure he's gets everything he needs.
Ever since he was 8 weeks old, we have given him 1 tablet of this vitamin everyday

However, now that we are out of that vitamin and my dog weighs 5 times more than he was at 8 weeks, I was wondering if I should switch him to this vitamin
http://www.petco.com/product/14947/Pet-Tabs-Plus-Daily-Vitamin-Mineral-Dog-Supplement.aspx?CoreCat=LN_Shopping_DogSupplies_VitaminsandSupplements
Could you please click on the 2 links above, and than click on the ingredients tab in the middle left of the page, and tell me which of the 2 vitamin choices is better for my dog? All input is greatly appreciated.
Answer: You don't need to give your puppy any vitamins. The reason is.. in the food you give him..all the nutrients and vitamins he needs are in them and in the right quantity.
By giving him more you are actually over doseing him.
Question: Vitamins: Is taking Super B Complex & B-12 together OK?!? I just started to take vitamins to get healthier and start to eat more because i think im a little underweight for my height...i take a chewable multi-complete vitamin daily...and i started to take vitamin b-12 and also super b complex....will i overdose at all?! im jus afraid of what im taking, i know its good for me but am scared because i hear alot about vitamin overdose. Is the combination of what im taking ok?
Answer: You can't get too much of B12 because it breaks down in your digestive tract. Most of the other B vitamins are water soluble, so the excess will be urinated out. You're safe. Keep up the good work!
Question: Is my 47-year old menopausal aunt consuming too many vitamins? Hello, can someone help me out? My aunt takes several vitamins daily, she is 5 feet 4 inches tall & weighs 175 lbs even.
She eats 3 well-balanced meals per day including a salad & 2-3 pieces of fruit as well.
She works out 3 times a week, for 1 hour at Curves.
These are the nutrients she takes daily/every other day:
2-Multi-vitamins: 1 tablet with breakfast & 1 tablet with lunch daily
2-Calcium-magnesium tabs daily
2-Complete B vitamins at 3:00 p.m, every other day
4-Omega 3 tabs @ 400 mg. ea., daily
1-50 mg 5-htp @ bedtime, every other day
Is this overkill? Thanks for your help!
Answer: No, she's not. Her body is now losing these nutrients, and she needs to replenish them. Many supplements, like the calcium, etc., the daily dose is actually two capsules. I'm not sure why, probably so the body can use them over the course of a day, but more likely to charge more for twice as many pills than if they put the RDA in a single tablet and made it time-release.
As far as the working out, her metabolism is slowing down, she either exercises or puts even more weight on her small frame.
Don't worry, if she's doing these things, she's read up on them and talked to her doctor.
Question: Is it ok to take Iron pills AND a multi-vitamin containing iron? I am severely anemic and I feel fatigued and sick all the time. Is it ok to take a Daily Complete Multi-Vitamin with 18mg of Iron and a separate vitamin that is 27mg of Iron?
Answer: That is OK as the upper tolerable level for iron is 45 mg per day.
Question: what are some things i can start doing daily to get healthy? I know Flinestone's vitamins are for little kids, but my doctor says they are one of the most complete vitamins, and recommends that I take two a day. Is there anything else I can do to get healthy?? such as drinking so much water a day, certain drinks, vitamins, calcium, stuff like that?
I am also trying to grow out my hair. are there any good vitamins to take for that?
Answer: WATER! drink 100 ounces of water a day and you will notice that you will feel great in about 2 weeks. I know from experinece that it works wonders. It helps with weight management, body cleansing, and clear skin. Try not to drink too many fruit juices, most are loaded with unhealthy sugars. Carrot juice is also great. It is good for healthy skin hair and nails. For calcium drink the 8th continent soy milk. Low in calories and great source of calcium. Also honest tea is great. They make all different kinds and tea is loaded with healthy antioxidants and the sugar they use is natural like can juice. Hope i helped. Good luck!!!
Question: Do I need to eat if I take a Daily Vitamin Multi-Pack? I just bought the Daily Multi-Vitamin pack that claims to give you not only 25 key vitamins and minerals, but it also gives you your..(and yes it is in caps too) "COMPLETE DAILY nutrition".
If given your entire daily nutrition, you would think you wouldn't have to eat... this is me thinking nobody TOLD me I didn't have to... but I would like to know.
If this gives me everything I need, do I NEED to eat... please site your sources so I can double check, and let me know your opinions on the product.
Yeah drinking water is rather obvious.
Here are more facts, found the exact ingredients online that it shows on the box.

Answer: Uh YES!
Vitamins do not contain the myriad of phytochemicals that have not yet been discovered in vegetables and fruit.
Also you need some omega 6 and omega 3 fats which are best gotten from raw seeds and nuts. You need protein which is sufficient from the amino acids in vegetables but you must eat a variety of vegetables. You need calories for energy. Fruits are a good source.
In fact, depending on the vitamins you are taking, some vitamins, especially synthetic ones are actually no good for you.

Question: I smoked weed 10 days ago. will it show up in the next week if i drink alot of water for days? 5'11 190pd average metibolic rate, only smoked 2-3 hits 4 diffrent times through out a weeks time. i have been taking 3 complete B vitamins daily and plan on drinking 2 gals the day before and another gallon 2-3 hours before the test and taking about 10 B vitamins to keep my pee yellow.
Answer: Yes it will show up. Usually it stays in your system for a few weeks. And if you drink too much water a day or two before your test they can tell if you've been trying to flush it out of your system.
Question: What vitamins are designed for teenagers? I always see "women's complete"... etc. What vitamins should teenage girls take? I am healthy, although I probably under consume on calcium, and I don't always reach the recommended daily amount of fruits and veggies. If there is no one vitamin, what types of vitamins should I be taking? I'm just trying to get healthier :)
Answer: Ah, there's a bunch of them, just go to a GNC and look at the vitamins, there will be tons labeled "for teenagers" or something.. haha.
Question: Are all these vitamins healthy for me to take daily? I am 23 years old, am 5'6" tall, and am 128 lbs.
I currently take 2 Flintstone Complete Multivitamins and 5000 mg of Biotin every morning with breakfast.
I just bought 200 IU of Vitamind E (dl-alpha)
and Natural Calcium 1000mg, Magnesium 400mg, and Zinc 15mg which is all in one pill (not the vitamin E)
Is this okay for me to take daily? I just want to be sure I dont OD on vitamins lol
oh and please dont tell me to ask a doctor, I dont have insurance and cant afford to see one.
Also, every morning I drink a Carnation Instant Breakfast which has a ton of vitamins in it as well
Answer: If you're 23, I would suggest switching to an adult multivitamin because the children's doses often don't have the full amount that an adult would need and may leave you more deficient than you want to be on certain nutrients.
That being said, 5,000 mcg of Biotin is a good amount, as is the 400 mg of Magnesium and 15 mg of Zinc.
The only problems I see with that is the Vitamin E should be d-alpha tocopheryl... the "dl" form is synthetic and can actually harm the body. Also, with the Calcium, your body can't absorb more than 600 mg of Calcium at any given point in time, so if you're taking 1,000 mg all at once, your body can't absorb all of that and the excess could be deposited elsewhere in the body. I would suggest breaking that up into 2 or 3 doses.
Aside from that, it sounds like you're doing very good with that regimen... just make sure you don't get more than 10,000 IU of Vitamin A, 1,000 IU (2,000 during the winter) of Vitamin D, 400 IU of Vitamin E, or 100 mcg of Vitamin K unless a doctor says otherwise. Those are the fat-soluble vitamins that can build up in your system if you take too much of them. Good luck and congratulations on wanting to be healthier!
Question: what vitamins should i take daily? ok well im going on a health kick and i know that if you work out(or just to stay healthy) you're supposed to take vitamins in the morning. well idk what vitamins to take because im not sure which ones can be taken together.

i'm thinking just a one a day womens and a fish oil...?
also, should i lose weight? and any diet or exercise advice is welcomed :) i want to get new swimsuit but dont want to feel fat in it :( too much of that in regular clothes
Answer: As for your weight - it's fine, you can check it on the link.
If you are eating a good mixed diet you are unlikely to need any of those extra vitamins - you could be wasting your money.
Vitamin A can be toxic to the eye, vitamin D can be toxic to the kidney and vitamin E...
