Dried Goji Berry
Question: what can i do with dried goji berries? can i try to rehydrate them? if so, how? thanks, any other uses welcome, they are too dry and ick on their own... ty!
Answer: i put them in my muffin mix. I like blueberry muffins with abut 1/4 cup of goji. Cant add too many to anything because of the bitterness, but they are suppose to be great for you!
You could throw a few in your cereal or yoghurt too.
I've never rehydrated them. i just eat em plain.
Question: What can I do with dried Goji Berries? I have some that are unsweetened, and not very good right out of the package! How do I eat them? Thanks!
Answer: If you're having trouble eating them dried (I personally love them that way) you can soak them for about 8 hours in purified water and bake them into whole grain muffins, pancakes or cereal. If you ad them to hot cereal they're pretty fab too! Even with these suggestions if you're still finding them a little hard to take just remember how incredibly good they are for you and eat them anyway!
Question: Are the dried Goji Berries just as good as the fresh version? Or have nutrients been lost because they are all dried out?
I love the taste of them on their own, but just wanted to be sure that what I'm eating has more nutrients than a cardboard box
Answer: yes dried just measn they wanted to preserve its lasting flavor and life expectancy but yes they are
Question: What are the health benefits of eating sun dried goji berries ?
Answer: No magic, it won't make you live for ever, loose weight or be irresistible to members of the opposite sex, ( or the same sex if that is your bag). Fresh berries of any sort are better than dried.
In the few months I have been answering 'Health Answers' I have had my eyes really opened. I had no idea that such a high percentage of the population are so naive as to believe in the myths, potty patent medicines, illegal drugs, illegally purchased prescription only drugs, charlatans and just plain crooks, purporting or pretending that they can fix them.
The problem is also that to be allowed on the market most of these preparations only have to prove that you are not very likely to drop dead soon after you take them! Once this is established they appear to legally be able to make any wild and unsubstantiated claim they like!
Question: have you noticed that they're starting to sell dried goji berries in gourmet grocery stores? at whole foods, they were 17 dollars a pound in bulk, but i got about one dollars worth, and they sure are tasty!
Answer: That's a good thing especially if they are raw and organic. Whole Foods and Fresh Market are my popular grocery store.
Question: Can i boil dried goji berries to make a tea? Will i get the same antioxidant properties? i just dont know what to do with these, i hate the way they taste.
Answer: I don't like the taste either - it's sorta weird to me. I put a few in my hot oatmeal along w/ a few tasty raisins. Also throw some in muffins. My daughter, who's married to an Asian, puts 8 or 10 in a big pot of soup.
Boiling them is not good. It won't change the taste any and will probably destroy much of the good stuff.
Question: Can dried goji berries be used instead of barberries in kuku sabzi? ( Iranian vegtable pancake)?
Answer: yes
Question: Is it healthy to feed Chinchillas dried Goji berries as treats? They are high in anti-oxidants
Answer: no they will have diherehha
Question: Recipes using dried goji berries? I bought a bag of dried goji berries to try and also to munch in my office as a healthy snack but I'm not really crazy about them. I don't want to waste them (they weren't cheap) so do you have any good recipe ideas to use them in? Thx!

Answer: If they look OK
eat them!
Question: Preparing dried goji/wolfberries? I have a packet of dried goji / asian wolf berries in the cupboard. They are a couple of months past the expiry date but the packet has NEVER been opened. Can I still use them?
Should I wash or soak them?
Can I mix them with raisins and other dried fruit to make deserts?
Should I cut them up into smaller pieces and soak them to make fruit teas?
I have never used goji before!
Answer: They will be fine from an unopened package. Here are a couple recipes:

Question: Why are goji berries supposed to be more healthy and nutritional when dried rather than fresh? Thomson & Morgan (plant company) say that they are most nutritional when dried!
Answer: i really don't know but so are tomatoes. except that tomatoes are more nutritious when "cooked". but i am looking for fresh ones to buy but never find them.... so if u know where to get them, pleeeeeeeease let me know! here's my email: miss_parsian@yahoo.com
Question: goji berries (wolfberry) okay to feed as treats? I'm always looking for healthy treats to give my 2 dogs. Has anyone tried dried Goji berries? Does anyone know if they're okay to give? I know raisins are popular, but I've been told they have a chemical that can kill dogs. I ask because my wolf mix will basically eat anything and I need to know what is okay to give her.
Answer: I wouldn't give your wolf mix that b/c it can cause diarrhea!
Question: Looking for a little info about these fruits? Starfruit
Lychee
Goji berry
What do these fruits taste like? I know it may sound like a strange question but i'm from a remote part of the UK and only recently has our supermarket been stocking these fruits.
I've tried dried goji berries and to me they taste vaguely of tea but what do they taste of when fresh?
Because of their appearance I have it in my head that Lychee's taste like grapes but i'm just guessing. And I have absolutely no clue about starfruit.
Sorry forgot one.
Rambutan.
Answer: Starfruit has a grape like texture only more firm and the flavor is like a grape with a slight hint of lemon. I've never had Lychee or Rambutan fresh, only canned and I love them in a fruit salad. They are a bit rubbery and have a flavor like a cross between a pear and a grape. I grow goji berries, they are very good for you, a great source of minerals, antioxidants, amino acids, and even give you a noticeable boost in energy after you eat a handful. Many consider them to be one of the worlds most perfect foods. As far as flavor goes, to me the fresh ones are similar to a very sweet tomato.
Question: is it legal to sell stuff from other countries back to your own? I am going to china on a business trip with business visa. Is it legal to go there and post things I find like dried goji berries online, and ship them back to make money? (to american, by putting on websites like ebay.)
how it will work i post on ebay when i find product, when someone buys, i go buy that and ship it.
Answer: Before you decide what to buy and sell you should look ito what you can ship to the US and what the import duties on it are. For instance there is no import duty o gemstones or jewelry parts (possibly jewelry also). I have no idea if you can easily ship berries without some special agricultural clearances etc.
Question: What are some good healthy breakfast ideas? Right now I am having oatmeal with some almonds, dried blueberries, goji berries, and dried banana chips thrown in. What do you like to have for breakfast?
Answer: I like oatmeal, blueberries, and honey, quinoa and jam, or vegan pancakes with 100% maple syrup. There's also a great recipe for vegan muffins in 'The Candle Cafe Cookbook' (the recipe for vegan pancakes is in there, too).
