Drinks
Question: Drinks?.......? One of my cousins is getting married in the fall, and by then [the day before is by birthday] I will be 21!!!
So I was wondering what sort of drinks I shhould try and what they taste like.
Or the best beer or something.
Answer: Favorite Drinks to make:
Long Island Ice Tea:
1/2 oz. Vodka
1/2 oz. Light Rum
1/2 oz. Gin
1 oz. Triple Sec
1-2 oz. Sour Mix
1-2 oz. Cola
Lemon Wedge
I don't put Tequila in mine...
Vesper (007 James Bond's Martini):
3 oz. Gin (usually Gordon's Gin)
1 oz. Vodka
0.5 oz. Lillet Blanc or Dry Vermouth
Lemon Twist
Shaken...not stirred..and served extra chilled.
Top Shelf Margarita, Rox, Salt:
1 1/2 oz. "top shelf" Tequila
1/2 oz. Cointreau
1/2 oz. Grand Marnier
1/2 oz. Rose's Lime Juice
3 oz. Sour Mix
Rim glass with salt and add a Lime Wheel. Sometimes I just go with an ounce of Cointreau or an ounce of Grand Marnier depending on the customers preference. Or if just making a regular margarita go with regular Triple Sec in replace or the Cointreau/Marnier.
Favorite Drinks to Drink:
Rum and Diet Coke:
2 oz. Bacardi Superior
4 oz. Diet Coke
Good for watching the weight/dieting.
Captn' N Sprite:
2 oz. Captain Morgan
4 oz. Sprite
Tastes like Cream Soda.
French Vanilla White Russian:
1 1/2 oz. French Vanilla Kahlua
1 1/2 oz. Vanilla Vodka
Fill rest of glass with French Vanilla Creamer or Half & Half
mmmmmm.... so good.
Question: What drinks should I offer at my wedding reception that don't require too many ingredients? I'm having a wedding reception and offering free beer and one free mixed drink or shot. After the one drink I'm going to charge $2-3 a drink. I wouldn't ask people to go in their pockets but all my family is drinkers and I can't afford them. Anyway I'm trying to think of drinks that don't require too many different ingredients. Just basics like vodka, gin, or some brandy's. I don't know. Anyone have any suggestions?
Answer: Hawaiian punch. Everyone likes it and it's cheap.
Question: What drinks can I order from a cocktail waitress in a casino? I am visiting Atlantic City this fall and don't want to look like an idiot when there. I don't really drink that often and I don't know what to ask for. I usually drink wine or mixed drinks but someone has always gotten them for me. I want to be able to KNOW what to say to the waitress!
Answer: Ask for whatever you want, If your gambling, Their Serving....
Question: What drinks can be kept in a stainless steel hip flask? I have a stainless steel hip flask and am wondering if any kind of drink can be kept in it. Is it just non-fizzy alcoholic drinks? Could I keep juice or tonic water in it? Beer or cider? I have been told i can't keep beer, cider, juice or fizzy drinks in there, is this true?
Answer: Hmm, i've kept juice in one before, but it stank after wards. Tea also begins to smell... All that was normal and didn't have an after task of steel was water...
Question: Is there a difference between carbonated drinks and soft drinks? I have heard that soft drinks contain carbon dioxide dissolved in water, and thus they are called carbonated soft drinks. But are carbonated drinks only limited to soft drinks and how are they different?
Please help! Thanks! :)
Answer: All drinks these days with a fiz in it is Carbonated they also do it to water too. It just gives a different feel to the drink rather than drinking flavored water
Question: What persuades you to drink non alcoholic drinks at home? Or what would persuade you? Given the vast array of alcopops, beers, spirits etc, what makes you buy non alcoholic drinks like Shloer and Appletiser? Obviously it might be because you don't want to be drinking alcohol, but what other reasons is it? What makes such drinks so appealing?
Answer: I don't drink nonalcoholic drinks like that because they taste like crap, and they are full of sugar (or cancerogenous matter, if they are sugar free). They are anything but appealing
I drink lots of coffee, tea, a cup or so of milk, juice once in a while, and energy drink or Pepsi once in a blue moon. I drink coffee because I need it to survive, herbal tea to relax me, juice because it tastes good, especially when it's hot outside, energy drinks to stay awake, and Pepsi when we're grilling hamburgers because it just tastes right with fresh hamburgers.
Question: What alcoholic drinks do women enjoy drinking? I am throwing a party and I want to make drinks that can be easily mixed from home so details would greatly be appreciated. Also if anyone has any good/new ideas for drinking games that wouldnt mind sharing it with me; that would also be great!
I have some good ideas but its always good to diversify creativity.
Answer: I personally like jack daniels and coke, southern comfort and lemonade and also love baileys. I would say vodka and red bull but its actually been made illegal to sell because aparently the vodka slows your heart rate down whilst the red bull speeds it up and could cause a heart attack!!! Just a bit of information for you :) lol
Erm....drinking games....I've played a couple of fun ones like 'have you ever' you ask questions like 'have you ever... gone skinny dipping' (questions can get mutch more interesting lol) and whoever has, has to take a drink, so its a fun way to find out what people have been up to, as people seem to be much more willing to share when they've had a few drinks down them! lol
Another one called 'flip, sip or strip' its best with like 3 to 5 people, but more people and the game will last longer. Basically what happens is you flip a coin and while it is in the air, call heads or tails. If you guess right, pass the coin to your right. If you guess wrong, pass the coin to your left and either take one article of clothing off (anything that is a pair counts as one item) or drink a shot. Thing is, you cannot do the same thing (sip or strip) more than twice in a row!
Final one: Beer Pong!! you need a ping pong ball and 12 glasses of beer. you arrange six glasses of beer on either side of a table as if you're setting up bowling pins. You get in to two groups and sit opposite the other group with 6 beers in front of them. When it comes to taking your turn, youve gotta throw the ping pong ball in to the opposite teams glasses. If it lands inside a glass, the opposing team must drink the beer immediately. Once done, rearrange the beers so they are all close to each other. The winning team is the team that manages to make the opposing team drink all their drinks. At the end of the game, the losing team must drink all remaining beer on the winning side.
I'm sure you could find a load of drinking game ideas on Google if your still a bit stuck, hope you have a great night :)
Question: What drinks/snacks are good to eat throughout the day to gain weight? I've always had trouble gaining weight. Part of it is because I don't eat breakfast, and my other meals aren't too large, part of it is because I do a lot of heavy cardio. So I am wondering what kind of drinks or quick snacks there are that I can drink throughout the day in/ between classes or at work.
Please exclude it if it has dairy in it, I am lactose-intolerant.
Answer: Chocoate soya milk because it's high in calories and weight gain bars from health food shops and just anythig high calorie but with nutrientsl like cereal
Question: Is drinking red and white wine considered mixing your drinks? I know that mixing drinks is not a good thing. Every time I switch drinks majorly, say from beer to champagne to bailey's, I can feel severely unwell and fall to sleep. I have also seen bad examples of people in the pub drinking steadily and then switching to a completely different drink and that will switch them into a completely different character.
I'm just wondering, does switching from white to red wine have a negative effect? Should you stick to exactly the same drink?
Answer: Mixing drinks is about drinking alcohol made from different sources. Red and white wine both come from grapes so they are not mixing your drinks.
Question: What drinks do they use on soap operas? Like, do they use sparkling cider to look like it is champagne? What are the "alcoholic" drinks that they use on the shows?
Do they use malt beer on the soaps?
Is it allowed on the soaps to use real alcohol or is it against the rules?
What do they substitute for drinks to make it look like beer and wine?
Answer: I am sure they use soft drinks in place of the alcohol. Did you know that weak ice tea can look similar to many mixed drinks or even straight shots? Apple juice with seltzer water or club soda could be a beer. That is how they do it. The alcohol rules a long time ago concerning TV were stricter than they are today. I remember when you couldn't drink alcohol on TV even to toast someone. They have loosened these laws a lot since then. Shoot, even Martha Stewart drinks on her show.
Question: What are some drinks that have been referenced to in songs? I'm a big music freak, and for my 21st birthday, I want to have a party and make drinks that have been referenced to in songs.
The only one I know of right now is Brandy Alexander, which is both a drink and a song by Feist.
Does anyone know of other drinks, and the songs they come from?
Answer: Why not listen to a great drinking song by Dean Martin called "Live and Drunk".
Red Red wine, Neil Diamond.......Tequila Sunrise, The Eagles,
Whiskey in the Jar, Thin Lizzy,......Sherry, Frankie Valli
Question: What kind of drinks make your kidneys work harder? I am doing a science fair project and I need help to understand your kidneys. What I am trying to figure out is which type of drink will make your kidneys work the hardest. The selected drinks are energy drinks, coffee, pop, juice, water, salt water, and milk. So our hypothesis is that coffee will definately affect the kidneys the most but what I do not understand is how we prove that. Does a more frequent urination mean your kidneys are working harder or does urine colour determine that?
Answer: Do some preliminary research. Caffeine is definitely a diuretic. Decide what you mean by 'work the hardest'.
Question: What drinks do guys usually get at a bar? I'm going to a bar for the first time on saturday. I don't usually drink anything but Grey Goose, Captain Morgan, Absolute, and etc. But I dunno what type of mix drinks guys usually get at clubs or any open bars. Someone help me out thanks!! I don't wanna look like an amateur.
Yea I don't really mix my drinks. I never liked mix drinks. Takes the point out of drinking.
Answer: Drink whatever you like man. Don't worry about looking like an amateur. It sounds like you know what you like, so just get those, mixed with whatever you like. I'd go with Rum and Coke. Also try a Rye & 7 (7-Up). It's very smooth, and is fun to say. Have fun.
Question: How many drinks does it take to make an average woman drunk? When I go out to pubs and clubs I never seem to pay attention to how many drinks I'm having so I tend to drink all night and too drunk. How many drinks can I have without getting too drunk but still drunk?
Answer: Depends on your weight and how often you drink.
For example: I weigh about 100lbs and I drink a few times a week and 4 or 5 shots get me drunk, but I am still functional at that point. Someone at the same weight as me who doesn't drink as often as I do would be much drunker than I am at this point.
However, your BAC level does not change according to how often you drink, that stays the same according to your weight. So what ever is a deadly amount of shots according to your weight will stay the same, even if your tolerance has increased.
Question: what kind of alcoholic drinks should a person have if they never drink alcohol before? i would want a drink that does not have so much alcohol by volume! since I like certain fruits, i heard that some drinks that are flavored with fruit are good to start off.
Answer: Well, you're goal is to not become an alcoholic. If you want to drink socially and responsibley, then start with wine coolers. Then, Kalua is a social drink that is not supposed to be for getting drunk. You drink a couple of shots and that's pretty much it. It's a mixture of straight Kalua, then 7UP. A couple of 3.2 beers, or one 6.0 beer is good. Keep in mind that it is very EASY to get drunk and out of control. Be with people you trust who aren't going to let you drive drunk or "play a practical joke," and leave you to your own devices. Using your OWN brain and not bending to peer pressure is the smart thing to do.
Never drink to be cool. Never get drunk to impress your friends. And don't listen to some of these nutcases on here that WANT you come up with a case of alcohol poisoning. I drank what my brother gave me the first time out...and it caused me to have siezures and popped both shoulders out of place. It wasn't worth it.
Question: Are energy drinks unhealthier to drink than soda? I'm asking because I tried to convince my Dad to drink one a few times but he always says that they're really bad for you. But he drinks soda. I used to drink them all the time, but stopped because they're expensive. Now I only drink one every once in a while and just drink coffee a few times a week.
Answer: energy drinks are bad for your thyroids.they are trying to prove that it will cause obesity when you are older if you drink them constantly right now.sodas aren't much better.i try to drink sugar free sparkling flavored water instead, but i'm sure those aren't that much better.
