Question: About a cold and green mucus(sorry for the words but I need to ask)? I have been sick and getting better is not happening any time soon even with medicine.
There is a lot in the nose and green mucus; sorry I have to use the word to ask.
How does one rid of it and if it gets to be more than before does that mean one is healing or getting worse?
Why does it build up that you feel you cannot breath properly or hardly?

I am taking Echinacea, Dry cough syrup, Nasal+Sinus decongestant relief and acetaminophen because head aches did not go for few days.
Sometimes there is a bit of blood but not much.
When I cough is so dry that I hardly can cough, ?
Answer: Your problem is that you are self medicating. See a doctor. Green mucous is a sign of infection. Let a doctor treat it properly or it'll just get worse.

Question: i need cold/flu advice? I started feeling sick on monday...?
with a cold/sinus/flu who really knows thing. on tue i went to the doc, got abt shot and 3 scripts for medrol dose pack and a z pack and cough syrup.im taking sudafed to breathe, vicks to not cough as much, echinacea, zicam and multi vitamins with water.and i have a humidifier.i still feel like crap and am running intermittent fever.its so important i be better by sat as i work 16 hour shifts on weekends.any advice?

Answer: First of all, for your cough try taking Delsym. It is nasty but it really works and it lasts twelve hours and most others are only around six. Keep taking lots of vitamins. Drink loads of water because it is good to filter and clean out your body. In other words drink more water than normal so you'll pee more. Any doctor will tell you, the best thing you can do when you are sick is to rest. I like to sleep as much as I can when I'm sick because then I can't feel any part of being sick for a few hours and when you wake up, you are just that much closer to being all better.

Answer: Better sit this one out, take time off, don't make others sick by being sick in
their midst.
Question: can stress be a cause of chronic bronchitis - does yoga help? i do not smoke (never even tried in jr. high), have no allergies that i know of & i don't live in the city where pollution is a problem. when i was very young & my parents divorced i would cough continually only at night. my mom took me to many dr's & nothing worked - the 4th or 5th one said: is anything bothering her - that you might wanna talk to her about? (ding - lightbulb moment).... anyways now i'm in my 20's & every year i get chronic bronchitis lasting 4-6 months (a couple of times actually spanning more than one calendar yr). Zpacks have stopped working (now my doc. gives me inhalers). i'm also currently taking vitamin C, echinacea, zinc, & a couple of other natural syrups my mom got me to help immune systems & it's progressed like it always does - especially bad at night (i'll wake up 2-3 times a night in coughing fits where i struggle to breathe) does anyone think i should try a beginners yoga class...please help i'm so tired (literally - i'm kinda sleep deprived) bekah

Question: so, ive had this cough...? ok, so in the last days of may i got sick, and ever since then i have had a bad cough every night around 1 or 2 in the morning and now that school started i really dont want to wake up every night coughing so much that i have to drink a nice warm cup of echinacea to calm it down... Help this cough hasnt gotten any better or worse :P What can i do to help it go away for good??

Answer: I've had the same thing for close to a month now. i'm assuming it would have gone away by now if i hadn't smoked anything.
A good solution that i haven't gotten around to trying yet until today is to (not smoke), and spit a lot. I mean A LOT. Have a spitting cup or bottle. And drink A LOT of water.
And the classic lots of vitamin C. it'll help get rid of more of the phlegm (gross white stuff), but you'll still have to cough it up. So if i were you i'd try to just rest and do all these things until it goes away.
Drinking tea with honey soothes the throat.
You don't live up in Montana area do you? thats where i picked it up, and brought it back home to santa cruz :/
