Question: What are the essential tools and supplies I need to start building golf clubs? Hello,
I really want to get into club building but I'm overwhelmed by the amount of tools and equipment available.
What are the essential things that I need? I'd like to start by building a driver, a putter, and a couple of wedges.
Is someone willing to make me a list of what REALLY is essential to get started? I have a lot of basic tools but I know there are some specific things that I need to purchase.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
John
Answer: What a reply from him! At a minimum you will need a cheap rubber shaft holder, a vise, a razor knife, 30/60 shaft epoxy, ferrules for the size shaft you are using, a fine tooth hacksaw, medium sandpaper, grip tape and grip solvent. I use spray brake parts cleaner for grip solvent as it leaves no residue, dries fast and is cheap. Take a look at golfsmith.com/clubmaking or /tools. Good luck, have fun and make sure to measure yourself to fit them properly. There are many measurement charts around. Do a search. Golfsmith has a club making forum that has a few on there.
Question: Can you mix essential oils with peroxide for cleaning ? I have been trying to wean myself off store bought chemicals for cleaning. So I've been exploring the use of natural alternatives for cleaning, like peroxide (H2O2). I've also read that essential oils, like lavender and tea tree, are useful if cleaning and sanitizing, in addition to smelling nice. So my questions is: is there any reason mixing peroxide and a few drops of essential oils would be toxic? Especially around small children ?
Answer: No problem mixing eo's and peroxide. There are lots of 'natural' cleansers to use. Vinegar, baking soda, peroxide... But...you need something additional to emulsify the oil and water. Dish detergent is fine. Alcohol works too. A squirt of soap, a few drops of eo's and warm water. Citrus oils are cheap and are great for using this way because their smell is nice and familiar. Eucalyptus and Tea Tree and Lavenders are fine as well. Can leave a mess on glass, you'll need to adjust your percentages. Other eo's are appropriate if you are using them to keep down specific pathogens. Good for you!
Question: What essential oils are best for laundry? I read somewhere that you can use essential oils to scent your laundry in the dryer by placing a couple of drops on a piece of cloth and throwing it in the dryer with your clothing. I was wondering what would be the best scent to use for this. I don't really like flowery scents.
Answer: You need to be careful using oils in the dryer. Instead of doing this, get the following:
One sprayer bottle
One Gallon distilled water
One ounce WATER-based fragrance
Put the water and fragrance into a spray bottle and you now have linen water to spray on fabrics, use with ironing, or just to freshen up carpets and clothes. You will want to test on really delicate fabrics like silk or satin before using, but on most other fabrics, no problem. You can buy water-based fragrances online for about $1 per ounce.
Question: What essential oils would you recommend for an ocean fragrance? I want to make my own bath salts and am trying to find a nice ocean fragrance. I would prefer to use essential oils but can't find any blend lists for the smell of the sea. Any help would be great!
You seem to have misunderstood me. I know where to buy them. I am looking for specific names of essential oils that I can mix together to make an ocean scent.
Answer: Second Nature Aromatics at http://www.SecondNatureAromatics.com
Question: What are essential oils and who says they're essential for good health? My wife is interested in Young Living essential oils. I did a little research and all I can see is a mulit-level marketing scam with people keeping supplies in their garages and patios until some sucker decides to try them. One thing I read was that someone said oil CURED HIS MOTHER'S CANCER! I think the seller sees it has an "essential" way to increase his economic standing in the Mormon community. Maybe the seller will show up with a buckboard and team of horses, drop the tail gate, and give you a free sample of snake oil with each bottle of "essential oil" (at least I hope it has some EVO in it)
Also, why have I not seen an infomercial on TV at 1AM.
Answer: All a scam. P.T. Barnum was right, "There is a sucker born every minute." People buy bottled water too.. fools.
Question: How essential is it to have a cocktail hour at a lunchtime wedding reception? My fiancee and I are getting married in March. Our ceremony is at 10:30AM and the lunch reception is from 12-4. How essential is it to have a cocktail hour during the reception time? We're trying to keep things inexpensive and not having hours' devours would save about $1500. Any advice is appreciated!
Answer: The reason for it is that there is enough time for all guests to arrive and also for the wedding party to have the pictures taken. Yes, prior to the ceremony you can take the brides party and the grooms party seperately prior to the ceremony, but the pics of all together are usually done durring this time. It is just nice to have a period of time in between for the guests. It is not necessary, but in my opinion makes things easier for the bridal party and guests. Good luck in any decision you make.
Question: How do I apply essential oils to bacillus subtilis? Hi! I'm doing a somewhat advanced science fair project as it is required by my school, and I have never worked with bacteria. I'm only in 7th grade so it's understandable =D. Anyway, My experiment is to see if essential oils, like cinnamon oil, lavender oil, and so on can be used as antibacterials against the bacteria. I really have no clue how to get the essential oils on the bacteria, is there a special disk I need to put over it or something? Thank you soo much! Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.
Answer: Your science teacher should be able to tell you, but...
Are you using petri dishes? You could cut out very small squares of an absorbent paper, like water color paper, label them A, B, C, etc. with a waterproof pen, put a drop of each essential oil you're testing and put the paper in the petri dish. If the essential oil stops bacteria growth, then stuff will grow around it, in some distance away from the little square, and if the oil doesn't stop it, it will grow right over it.
Question: What essential oils are best to burn in a classroom setting? I had a friend burn essential oils in an electric burner and the class smelled like lollies. I'm hoping to a) increase alertness, productivity, harmony, quietness (haha) and b) a nice smelling room.
What are the best combinations of oils. And has anyone used them before with a positive result?
Thanks.
I know essential oils need to be used in moderation and I understand the strength in their properties. I'm asking for simple 'recipes'. I know this can be beneficial for a classroom but I have been unable to find information regarding a classroom online.
Answer: If it where me, I would use Frankencsense Rosewood, Clove, or Oregano Oils. All of these are very safe. I would NOT!!! I repeat: NOT! Use lavender or Tea Tree oils. The reason? Allergies! Some people are extremely sensitive to these 2 plants. And if you have any students with allergies you run the risk of allergic reaction including anaphylactic shock! And this type of shock can be FATAL! But Oregano, Thyme, and the others I mentioned are very safe. Oregano Oil can even be ingested with 0 side effects. It is a very powerful anti-microbial oil. It can kill any bacteria, parasite, virus, including (HIV and hepititis). And it also can help with mental function. Oregano Oil would be my pick for sure! Renegade scientists did a study on Oregano Oil and found out it can easily destroy MRSA. Mrsa is a mutated version of the Staph Bacteria. And Mrsa is resistant to nearly all anti-biotics. So, obviously it could help your students in more ways than one! It could possibly help keep them from getting sick from pathogens in the air!
Question: Are licensed Illinois Estheticians legally allowed to use essential oils on clients? I am a licensed esthetician in Illinois, looking at starting up my own holistic skincare space. As a licensed esthetician, am I allowed to use essential oils on my clients? I can't find anything that specifies one way or another... only stuff that says we can only work on the top layer of skin for purposes of skincare and relaxation. I don't see how using essential oils would be any different than using a product with essential oils as an ingredient... but I was wondering if anyone knows for sure. And where can I find proof that it is or is not allowed? Thanks!
Answer: drinked water

Question: What are the essential questions in a number recognition lesson? I have to create a lesson plan for a preschool math class. It is for college. What would be the essential questions that I would need for my lesson plan? I have "What do numbers tell?" and "Why do you need to know numbers?". Are there any else I should include?
Answer: see, the lesson plan is the plan which is called notes of lesson. Just a small note/tips to be written to every lesson in maths. This is a helpful notes while teaching the particular lesson. you ask about essential questions in a number recognition lesson...see, all lessons are important and essential and the connected questions too because, it is based on the syllabus. The syllabus will show the essential lessons and the questions of the lessons too.
The numbers are essential to maths and hence it should be included.
Question: What are some essential pieces I should consider for my home recording studio? I'm not going to be renting it out or anything(it is going to be in my house),which generally is just going to be my guitars, piano, and etc.Of course I will need a microphone,I will also be doing vocals in there.I'm only making the recording studio because I would love to have lots of room to play my instruments and sing. But what else are some very essential pieces I should have in my own home recording studio? Thanks everyone.
Answer:
In general you won't be using more than two or three mics at a time, so I would get a four track mixer. This gives you the best control over each mic, including a bit of reverb, level, etc. I tend to only use two mics at one time, so this works perfectly for me.
The L + R sends from the mixer need to go somewhere, so you have two options... either a good sound card, or a USB / Firewire interface. If your computer can support USB 2.0 or Firewire, this is essentially the way to go. Get an interface (or sound card) that can take two inputs, or a stereo line in, which is basically the same thing, although you'll have to set your software to record the L to one track and the R to another. Ideally, being able to record at 48khz at 24 bits is ideal. You don't need to go up to 96 khz... this is overkill for a home studio, and may actually degrade the quality of the audio if your computer can't handle it. 96 khz bitrate also takes twice the space of 48 khz, so consider that, too.
You can just use an interface/sound card if you absolutely need to use more than 2 mics at once. I prefer using a mixer because I crave as much control as I can get. I've seen interfaces that have up to 16 ins (Tascam). This is crazy, but if you really feel you need it....
Get an interface and/or mixer that supports phantom power. With phantom power you can use condenser mics, which are really good for capturing delicate treble detail that dynamic mics can't really accomplish. They can't be used live, and they're a little more delicate than dynamic mics, but dynamic mics just can't capture a piano or voice like a condenser. Try doubling them up, ie, one of each, then blending the results. Good stuff.
A studio-quality pair of headphones is a pre-requisite. I create a scratch track when I'm recording, then have everyone overdub it while listening to the track over the headphones, one at a time. It's slow, but I get the best sound quality that I can from a home environment.
Your computer should have at least 1 Ghz processor, 1 Gig of Ram, and at least 100 Gig HD.
If you are running Windows Vista, then I sympathize with your pain. Vista sucks for pro audio and recording. I strongly recommend that you optimize the snot out of it before you start recording. Many of the "features" that Windows loaded into it can hose a recording... or CD burning... or video/CD rip...
Very quickly, I suggest the following (google if you don't know how to do it): Give yourself administrator privileges, disable UAC, Superfetch, Readyboot, ReadyBoost, Windows Update, windows defragmenting, and definitely Aero and as many other graphics options as you can. Each one takes up memory and processing power! Then google "Black Viper Vista" to find a list of services that you can disable. Be conservative and only take out the ones that you really have no need for - if you aren't sure, don't disable them. I put many of the services I'm not sure about on Manual. Disable Remote Access! Finally, I recommend disabling Windows Firewall and loading a 3rd party firewall like ZoneAlarm. Windows Defender doesn't work well, but you don't *need* to disable it... just get two (repeat TWO) other antivirus and malware utilities. I like Spybot S/D, Adaware, and a few others. Oh yeah, they're free. Good stuff. Norton sucks. I disconnect the internet when I'm not using it, because a lot of Vista programs and services like to talk on the internet, and that's something you don't want happening in the middle of a sensitive recording. Make sure you update your computer's drivers, as well as Windows if you've turned the Update off. Or turn it back on for a day every now and then, then turn it back off.
Doing these things has taken my bloated POS Vista that couldn't burn a CD without glitching and wouldn't record well to a rather bare bones but moderately efficient recording machine.
Okay, that's that.

Question: What pieces are essential in creating a professional wardrobe? I'm going to school to be a high school teacher. I'm going to be starting my first practicum in the next academic year and am already thinking about what i should wear. What in your opinion are essential pieces to creating a wardrobe for a teacher?
I am looking for affordable pieces (since i am in school) that i can mix and match. And/or pieces that won't go out of style in the near future. Suggestions?
Skirts are good. What about something more appropriate for winter??
Answer: That is a great question. Below are just some ideas. Don't look at the brand or prices. I just wanted to give you an idea of what these items look like. You can have these simple basic pieces without spending a fortune (believe it or not you can find all of these at Target). I would invest in a really good cardigan set (sweater and the matching shell). You can mix and match cardigans with nice dress slacks and a skirt! Here is an example of a cardigan set:

Another is a pair of really good and well made dress trousers. You can wear this with a simple blouse or again a cardian set. You should start with the color black. That will match with anything you wear.

Third is a nice pencil skirt and a one with fullness at the bottom. Color should start off as black since it will match with anythng you wear. You can wear this with your cardigan set or a simple blouse.

A simple blouse. I would invest in a white and a colored blouse. 2 long sleeved and 2 short sleeves:

A nice casual dress jacket that you can wear with your pants or skirt:

As for shoes, something low heeled would be best or wedge.
You want to look casual but not corporate and comfort is a major important factor to look for as well as being able to mix and match pieces to make different outfits daily. If you just have these basic pieces, you can start building your wardrobe bit by bit (that's how I started mine) .
Also take advantage of accessories too (scarves and necklaces) which can change the look of your outfit also!
Good luck!
Question: What is the essential difference between Palm and Blackberry? What's the essential difference between Palm, Blackberry and iPhone? I want to get a smart phone and i check email and browse websites everyday. Besides I keep tracking stock markets all the time. Which one is the best for me?
Answer: Blackberry is the most stable, and handles email the best.
The Palm Pre with the brand new WebOS is getting good reviews, but is still a first generation device.
The Iphone is only fully compatible with Mac's, and without a physical keyboard it will be slower to type than something with one. That said it is pretty, and the screen is nice.
The G1 might be worth considering too, it has a keyboard, touch screen and has the best browser of any handheld.
Myself I use the BB 8900, the browser isn't as good as the G1 or Iphone, but I the keyboard is lots better, the media player is great, and I have more than 20 apps installed (including www.boltbrowser.com [No I don't work for them.]) and it runs great.
The best advice is go play with them. See how you like holding them, doing basic tasks like texting and visiting your fave sites, and using the calender or other daily use items.
