Fast Food
Question: Fast food? So I've been on the road a lot lately, making it pretty impossible to eat anything remotely nutritious. I started to feel terrible! I never realized how crappy fast food and junk can make you feel if you eat enough of it. My question is directed at those who live on it. Don't you get tired of it? Doesn't it take a toll on you? I don't know about the rest of you, but I NEED my fruits and veggies.
Answer: I totaly agree with you!
I used to get fast food almost every night...then I went into a treatment center in Florida where we had a cook...no fast food...she cooked well balanced meals and I actualy lost weight from not eating crap all the time:) Also had more energy.
Question: fast food ? why r dare no vegan fast food changes
And why dose every fast food change sell MEATTTTTTTT
Answer: burger king and johnny rockets now sell veggie burgers.
I presume you mean chain - there are some local "chains" by me that serve nothing but veggie food. You need to look around and not limit your thinking to 'fast food' - its bad for you anyway

Question: Whats the difference between fast food and slow food? I eat exactly the same pace, weather its fast food or slow food. Is there a difference? I don't care if I have to wait... is slow food better quality usually than fast food?
Answer: Fast food consists of saturated fat deep fried in month-old grease by Captain Oblivious and crew. Slow food is made by people who would actually consider eating what they're making. Just my opinion.
Question: Who actually likes working in fast food places? I've been working at this fast food place for about 5 months now and I just want to not show up and quit. It's my first job and I hope it's my last one in fast food places. I want to get a new job for the summer when I get my car. I'm defiantly not going to work in fast food or any restaurant for sure. How many of you actually liked a job in fast food? Also, is working in a clothes store like the ones at the mall better than fast food?
Answer: any job is what YOU make of it
there are people that have had bad experiences in all careers.
fast-food is not meant to be a career for most but it is meant to provide employment with flexible hours for youth and those who need part-time employment and it teaches job skills, work-ethic, responsibility and work specific skills you will use in any career you decide to pursue in the future.
remember your job pays for you to do the things you enjoy away from work so.............................................
treat it well.
Question: What kinds of fast food are in italy and around the world other then mcdonalds etc? I'm doing a project about the fast food of the world but when I reserch "fast food of the world" or a certian contry all I get is articles on Mc Dobalds and those other fast food returants going all over the world.......that's isn't what I want! I've found out that in eastern asia they have noodle stands and in united kingdom they have fish and chips but I would like to know the fast food of Italy.
Answer: There is, for the most part here in Italy, McDonalds everywhere. Then, there are Burger Kings is some places. An Italian version of fast food, though, is Spizzico, which is fast food pizza and as far as I know, doesn't exist in the states. Also, in most of the train stations, there is ChefExpress, which sell panini (sandwiches). I have actually seen vending machines selling pasta, believe it or not, and other more common vending machines sell a particular sandwich called "tramezzini."
Other than that, almost all bars sell pastries in the morning and panini and coffee throughout the day, and this is the traditional "fast food" in Italy-it is not like McDonalds because the bars are privately owned, not chains.
During the winter season, there are always vendors in the street selling "castagne", or roasted chestnuts.
Edit: Today I saw 3 more: PastaritO, PizzaritO, and AutoGrill (which is usually at rest stops on the autostrada, but I saw one in the city center too).
Question: Have the warnings about Fast Food and Pizza prompted you to diet? Have the recent studies and evidence about the health risks associated with fast food and pizza, changed your eating habits? If so, beforehand, how often did you eat fast food in any one week? How often do you eat it now?, and are you planning to alter your diet anytime soon?
Answer: My father becoming diabetic prompted me to diet. Halfway through my diet, I saw "Supersize Me", but at that point I'd already cut out most fast food. That prompted me to cut it out entirely. Pre-diet, I probably had fast food 4-5 times per week... (It might be worth noting that I'm a college student and couldn't cook in a dorm.) I was 150lbs, 5'5''. Now, I eat it maybe 1-2 times per week and always choose something healthier (i.e. Chick-fil-a chargrilled chicken w/ baked chips, salad with my own bought dressing, etc.) I am now about 121lbs, and I've kept that weight off since August. My shift was a lifestyle change and I never intend to let myself get that unhealthy again!
Question: Why is fast food not the same as restaurant food in terms of health? For those that don't eat fast food because it's unhealthy, do you eat at restaurants? If so, how is that food different from fast food? I'm not saying it isn't, I just want to know.
If there is any food from a restaurant that would be just as bad as fast food, what factor decides if its too unhealthy to eat? (with fast food being the standard as too unhealthy to eat)
Also, what makes food cooked at home healthier than fast food? What factors decide whether the food cooked at home is relatively healthy or unhealthy?
Answer: 1. Fast food uses a lot of preservatives in order to keep it from spoiling. All those preservatives are not good for you.
2. Fast food often used processed food, which has been link to cancer. Not all processed food is bad.
3. Fast food often means deep fried, and all that fat can't be good for you.
Restaurant foods are somewhat healthier than fast foods because the food is prepared fresh when you order it. The food tend to have less preservatives, and they're usually not processed. Hopefully the oil isn't reused over and over again. Once oil reaches past it's smoking point, it becomes bad to your health.
Homemade food is usually healthier because you control what goes in it. If you don't want to use MSG, you don't have to. If you want to use less salt, you can. If you want to use olive oil instead of lard, you can.
Question: What are some fast food restuarants that have vegetarian foods? I rarely eat fast food, but when I do it has to be vegetarian because I am a vegetarian and most fast food restaurants don't offer that. I've recently become a vegetarian and I'm not sure which restaurants provide vegetarian food options.
Answer: Taco Bell, Subway... Yogurtland if you want?
Question: What are the most healthy fast food restaurants? Also, what is the healthiest choice at fast food restaurants?
I'm trying to eat as healthy as possible, even when i go to fast food restaurants. Thanks in advance!
Answer: Polo Tropical and Chicken Kitchen in Miami are rated the healthiest.....just to bad they only local and nationwide!!
Question: Why are fast food restaurants appealing to all levels of society? I've noticed that my favorite fast food restaurant is patronized by all the social classes. You see everyone from down-and-out bums to executives in expensive suits. There's a junker car stuffed with a big family in the drive-through line, and right behind is a brand new sports cars with a rich-looking driver.
It has to be something besides price and speed of service that attracts customers. What is it?
Answer: For me the appeal is the fast food--especially the salads and the coffee and the bagel. I really like the workers and most are friends of mine and know me by name. I too have noticed the diversity of people at my local drive through ----the homeless and the rich and the middle class.
Question: What part of the fast food industry is most interesting to look into? I am reading Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser. I need to write an essay on a specific part of the fast food industry back then, and compare it to present day.
I just need a few ideas on what you think is most interesting to look into in the fast food industry.
Thanks
Answer: Fast Food way back in the beginning was all about hamburgers and fries. Now just about any type of food can be found in fast food styles. Food will only continue to get "faster" in this country because that's what people demand.
Question: How long should a fast food worker wait to wash their uniform? If you saw a fast food worker wearing a extremely dirty uniform and their cooking your food how would you feel about eating there. I'm talking about filthy.
Answer: no body is going to wash there uniform everyday. the best thing to do is talk to your manager to get extra uniform or uniforms. If that don't work every 2-3 days or when it's dirty.
Question: How has the fast food industry transformed the american diet? How has the fast food industry help to transform how the american diet is today?
Answer: We want food quicker and cheaper than ever before. The increase of portion sizes is because we want more bang for our buck. They food quality goes down to accomodate the portions given at cheap prices. Vicious cycle.
Question: How often do you eat fast food or at a resturaunt or take out? I only eat it once a week because I do not want fast food to be the only jobs available in the future. I am not saying eating out is bad but I am saying I know I don't want to work fast food. Have you noticed Mcdonalds and most fast food places are the only thing that's hiring?
Answer: maybe once a month or once in two months. i like to cook up simple yummy stuff at home
Question: Why are people so down on fast food? Why do people blame fast food for being fat? What do people have against fast food? I am really sick of reading things people write on here about how fast food makes people fat. Well, sure it does if you eat it every single day!!!!! If you only eat it once or twice or maybe even three times a week you should be fine. I eat fast food 1-3 times a week and I am not fat because I am always on the move. Why do people blame fast food for their weight? Please somebody explain this to me?
Answer: Okay, even if you can eat it three times a week and not get fat, it is NOT good for you. It's full of preservatives and trans fats which are negatively affecting your heart, your arteries, your liver, etc. Remember, you can't always see outwards evidence of what is going on in your body. You don't have to be fat to be unhealthy.
