Fat Stomach
Question: Fat stomach? I'm a skinny girl, but I seem to be developing a bit of a flabby stomach. I'm not so much fat as I am un-toned. What can I do to get rid of it? Aside from sit-ups! I hate sit-ups!
Obviously I will be cutting down on the junk food, but are there any easy quick exercises I can do to flatten & tighten my stomach? Thanks.
Answer: Do Transverse Exercises!
kind of like crunches..
-To do this exercise, start by lying on the floor with your knees bent and feet firmly on the floor.
- Lightly place your hands just below and to the sides of your belly button. Firmly press two fingers from each hand into your lower abdomen.
- Gently begin to draw your lower abdomen down towards the floor (picture a string pulling your navel towards the floor) but do not move your pelvis, raise your chest or hold your breath.
- Stop drawing in your stomach as soon as you feel your muscles get tight. The muscles underneath your fingers should feel taut but the movement does not require a lot of effort. If you move too far, you will in fact stop working your transverse abs and begin to work your oblique muscles (your side abdominal muscles) instead.
- Hold this position for 10 to 15 seconds, breathing normally the entire time.
- Do ten repetitions.
Scissor Kicks..
- To do this abdominal exercise, start by lying on the floor. Place your hands under your buttocks and keep your back pressed against the floor.
- Raise one leg about 10 inches off the ground and slowly lower it back down. As you lower the one leg, raise the other.
- Do three sets of ten repetitions.
Pelvic Tilts..
- Lying on the floor with your back pressed against the floor, bend your knees keeping your feet on the ground.
- Slowly lift your pelvis up and hold briefly before lowering slowly back down to the ground. Your upper body should remain on the floor throughout the movement.
- Do three sets of 15 repetitions.
If you do these before bed and when you wake up like 4 or 5 days a week, your stomach will be flat and tight.
Question: What are the best ways to lose stomach fat? I have a fat stomach and wish to get rid of it. I've tried a number of diet methods and some have reduced my body weight but have not had the reduction to my stomach that I'd like. Can anyone give any tips on the best ways to lose stomach fat.

Answer: Hi. Thought I'd let you know that i had the same problem. I thought diet and working the main muscle groups around the area was the way to go. It wasn't working and started looking for an answer for some good ways to lose stomach fat on the web I came across a site http://fat-blob.info which gave me an insight into the problem and started me on the road to conquering the issue.
Amongst the methods there were these tips for starters reduce sodium intake, drink more cold water, drink less alcohol and eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables plus the obligatory healthy exercise plan.

Question: does anyone ever feel fatter just because you start getting a fat stomach? i feel like im getting fat, but really i kno im not because im so skinny. i guess it doesnt make sense but when i look at myself i can see the fat developing around my stomach area. i've read that doing workout on one specific area doesnt help and that working out the whole body is the only possible way to actually lose fat. is it true?
Answer: when you look down im sure everyone sees themself fatter because of perspective
learn to love the body you have
down go down that road of thinking "ooh im fat"
everyone will love you for who you are and not what you look like

I play softball ad im a catcher. i weigh 138. im pretty strong and i got some msucles. but the main thing is i have a fat stomach. Answer: It's pretty hard to lose fat from just one part of your body, you really have to lose it all over your body at once. Doing a good muscle building routine will help you burn fat because the more muscle you have the higher your metabolism will be and that will cause you to burn more fat.

Question: Can the waist trimmer belt help contour a stomach that only has about 3 inches of fat? Ok, I know that the waist trimmer doesnt burn fat and it's only excess water weight so don't tell me that. My question is do you think wearing the belt over time will eventually cause the area to shrink just because it's being held in tight for such a long time? I know it won't have an effect on a fat stomach but maybe a stomach that only has about 3 inches or so.
Answer: I am currently wearing one of those belts right now, have been for the last week or so. I was having major issues with water retention and thought this might help, especially with the belly bloating. To be honest I really have not seen much of a difference, but I don't tend to sweat that much anyway, never have. I do notice I sweat a little bit more around my middle with it on. My main reason I have ben wearing it is for back support as weird as that sounds, plus mine has an ice pack compartment which I love and only cost $9 so can't complain. I have been doing physical therapy and have had my back realigned but they all kept slipping back the moment I got home and started lifting my baby and things. They tried taping me up which did nothing, I have a lower back brace but is so constricting when I sit down it was useless unless I remained standing all day which ended up hurting more things then it was helping. The belly trimmer has just a little support to it that it keeps my bones where they need to be, helps my posture but does not cut off the circulation to my legs when I sit down so I can wear it all day. I would do not think it would be able to keep fat off any area but possibly give an illusion of a trimmer belly over a long period mainly for the better posture.

Question: How do you get rid of stomach fat? I'm a very skinny person, but i don't have tight skin in my stomach and i have stomach fat. its not a lot but it really shows because i'm skinny. I've been doing this ab slide, crunches, walking on the tredmill and other workouts. Does anyone have really good workouts that really helped you get rid of a fat stomach and tighten your skin?
Answer: There are no exercises that can actually tighten your skin.... but there are a lot of them that can tighten and tone your abs.
Anything that works your abs can be beneficial... the ab-slide thing (a little wheel on a stick, right?) is good and crunches help focus on the abs. Treadmill really doesn't focus on the abs at all, but if you tighten your abs while you work, it can help. Using a pull-up bar to lift yourself (or just dangle), then lifting your legs to your chest is a really good way to use gravity to the benefit of your abs, too.
Basically, any tightening of the abs will help.... and if you do enough crunches where your abs hurt, you'll be able to feel EVERY activity that works your abs. Of course, I would only suggest that for "scientific research" so you can more easily notice all of the things that work your abs. I was surprised when I did that the first time, though.
Question: How can you tell the diference between a bloated stomach and a fat stomach? My stomach gets really big sometiemes but I can't tell if it's just bloated or if it's fat. any one know a good way to tell
Answer: A bloated stomach is going to be way more hard than just a fat stomach. Get a stethoscope and listen to the tummy, if it's bloated it'll be making tons of gurgling noises!

Answer: Loosing weight fast is always an unhealthy thing.
There are many diets who tell you that you can loose a lot of weight in no time. And it is working, but you are doing no good to your body. And there's also the Jojo-effect.
The best thing to loose and hold a healthy weight is healthy food, less sugar, lots of drinking water, and sports.
Diet has to begin in your head. And you already started to think about your nutrition. That's an important step. It is too easy just to make a magazine-diet for 2-3 weeks and loose some weight. But it will come back soon again. If you are over-thinking your nutrition and activity, you will have a constantly good result. Isn't that much better and healthier than a crash-diet ?

Question: Can I reduce fat just in the stomach area? I am okay with my body I just hate my fat stomach. I'd rather not loose weight in other places, will doing a ton of sit ups help? I know they say you have to lose fat everywhere to lose it in your stomach but there are girls I know who do tons of sit ups a day not necessarily to get abs but to just keep their stomach thin? Answer: Sit ups are usually for toning up abdominal muscles. If you want to lose fat then you have to do aerobics like running, cycling and swimming. You cannot lose fat only from your stomach. When the fat burns, the process includes the entire body. But don't worry about it because with moderate exercise and dieting you only lose fat, your muslce mass stays intact.
Question: Do crunches and sit ups and stuff work if you have a fat stomach? I heard somewhere that these exercises won't do anything for you if you have a lot of fat covering your stomach. is this true?
Answer: if you're building those muscles and you have a layer of fat covering your stomach, you will never see the muscle development. You need to do cardio to burn that fat and the crunches to develop the muscle (in other words you need to do both)

Answer: rope jumping. Not running cuz it tightens your hamstring and make you less flexible and it also widens the size of your thighs. Rope jumping, however, tones your whole body and make you lose body fat instead of muscles. It also makes your more active. And it is so not boring. You can easily stick with it for years.

Answer: Eat only when hungry and not more than three times a day. Include plenty of vegetables and fruits in ur food. Eat slow, chewing each morsel at least 32 times. This activates ur body to send signals that u have enough. No snacks or drinks in between except water.
Take light exercises and walking for about 30 min every day preferably twice a day.
Be patient to see the results in hassle free mode in reasonable time.

Answer: you're not fat, you may have a body image problem though if you seriously do think you're fat...
maybe you're confusing fat with not so firm muscle tissue...
if you're concerned about the lack firmness of your belly and other areas then do exercises to tone these areas. don't worry about loosing weight. Eat plenty of protein, this will quicken your bodies' process of changing "flab" not so firm flesh to lean muscle.
Question: How to turn a fat stomach into abs? Well I'm on a diet and it's going pretty good. Already lost a lot of weight. But now what im thinking is I have a fat stomach and how am I supposed to turn that into a six pack? Do I lose the weight first and then build the muscle.. I'm confused
Answer: The key to showing your abs is actually to burn off the fat. You must eat a very clean low fat diet and be sure to workout. You should alternate cardio and weight training every other day for max fat burning and results.
A good 10 - 15 min or so dedicated to ab work on your resistance days is good for toning the abs. Choosing cardio exercises that use your abs and core (like kickboxing) are great too.
You really have to get lean to see that 6 pack come out. that is the secret not really tons of crunches ;)
So stay on your course and be sure to add some ab work to your program and you will start to see results.
