Garlic
Question: garlic...? how do u get rid of garlic smell and taste?
Answer: Asians use a lot of garlic and what works to get rid of the garlicy taste in chewing some sweetened fennel seeds (anise). You can buy it from any grocery store (McCormick). Just grab a pinch mixed with a pich of sugar and chew. It wil get rid of the taste and freshen your mouth.
To get rid of the smell on your hands, rub your hands with some metal (steel works well). Otherwise just wash your hands and rub some lemon or lime and wash again.
Hope it helps!
Question: What is garlic chevre and is there a difference in garlic chevre sauce? I have a recipe that calls for 1 lb of garlic chevre. What is garlic chevre? Is there a recipe that I can make it myself? Where can I buy it and what is a fair price? I've found some recipes for garlic chevre sauce - is this the same thing?
The recipe is a stuffing for pork tenderloin consisting of the chevre, arugula, and blueberries.
Answer: Well, as far as I know "chevre" is the french word for goat cheese. The grocery stores in my area carry some goat cheese logs flavored with various things like garlic, as well as different herbs, crusted in ground nuts etc.
Not sure if thats what they are looking for though. Seeing the whole recipe might help? Or at last enough to put it in context.
after your details...
1lb sounds like a lot for 1 tenderloin. Probably enough for 4 or more of them... but the recipe sounds right... garlic goats cheese, blueberries and arugula would be a great combination...
Question: Can you make garlic mashed potatoes with garlic salt rather then real garlic? I was planning on making garlic mashed potatoes for supper but I forgot to buy garlic. I have garlic salt, will that work just as well?
What about garlic powder?
Answer: you are better off just making regular mashed potatoes for now, until you can get fresh garlic.
garlic salt, which is pretty much salt that had garlic whispered into its ear, is going to give you a flat medicinal flavor at best, and will be too salty at worst.
when you do have the garlic, roast it first before you put it in the mashed potatoes.
the flavor will then be sweet and fragrant.
Question: How does garlic powder compare to fresh garlic nutritionally? I don't use fresh garlic on a weekly basis, but I do keep garlic powder on hand to use in recipes often. Does anyone know if the health benefits are different by using the powder versus the fresh?
Answer: Garlic powder is processed food. In order to have the healthy effect of garlic you need it fresh. This is the best natural antibiotic together with the honey.

Question: How can you tell garlic is old? I keep a bunch of garlic in my cupboard, and there are some bunches I haven't used in over 6 months. The cupboard is nice and dry and dark, and when I look at the garlic, there isn't much mold or bruising anywhere, just a little wrinkling and some very small sprouts at the top. When is it time to toss away your garlic?
Answer: As long as its not mouldy, you can use it, although it's pretty pointless if its dryed out. If it is shooting, plant it in the garden, and you will have some nice freshly grown garlic next year, and it will help keep the pests away.

Answer: Fast and Easy Fresh Garlic Mashed Potatoes Recipe
These delicious garlic mashed potatoes have a light garlic flavoring that even the youngest family members will appreciate. Of course if you are a hardcore garlic fanatic you can easily make them spicier by simply adding a bit more fresh garlic to the pot while cooking.
6 large Idaho or Russet potatoes
6 Cloves Fresh Garlic
1/4 cup milk
3 Tablespoons Butter or Margarine
Salt and Pepper, to taste
Peel and cut potatoes into sections approximately 1 inch thick.
Peel garlic cloves and cut in half.
Boil potatoes and garlic together in a large pot, making sure that the water covers the top of the ingredients and the pot is large enough to allow for boiling, for about 20 minutes until potatoes are tender all the way through.
Drain off the water.
Add butter, salt and pepper.
Mash the potatoes and garlic together either by hand, (using a masher) or with an electric mixer.
When almost completely mashed, add milk..
Serve immediately while still hot.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
If you enjoy a heavier garlic taste, add 2 cloves of garlic per potato

Question: How much raw garlic should I ingest daily for acne? I suffer from candida induced acne and want to try garlic for a remedy. I read that ingesting raw minced garlic can be quite helpful but I don't know how much to take. Any help?
Answer: Candida also known as Candida Albicans or Candidiasis is apparently present in over 80% of the population and acne is one of the symptoms experienced from this.
You ask how much to take. I know that acne sufferers do massage the affected areas several times a day with garlic and also a lot take 3 seeds of garlic once on a daily basis for a month.
I would suggest that you take once daily for 2 weeks, and see how the treatment is progressing and continue if satisfactory for another 2 weeks.
As always please stop if you are experiencing any unusual symptoms. Good luck.
Question: How garlic is good for human body and the ingredient in it? Garlic is included in food,in which way it is good for the human body
Answer: The health benefits of garlic have been touted for centuries, but now researchers may have pinpointed at least one reason why.
A new study shows red blood cells process compounds from digested garlic and turn them into the cell messenger hydrogen sulfide (H2S), which relaxes blood vessels and increases blood flow. Therefore, eating garlic may increase our natural supply of this vital chemical and play a role in reducing the risk of heart disease.
Previous studies on garlic's health effects have produced mixed results. For example, some studies of garlic have found few benefits, but others have been shown to lower the risk of heart disease.
But researchers say if further studies confirm these findings, testing the ability to produce hydrogen sulfide may be used to standardize garlic supplements to produce greater health benefits.
