Question: glasses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? im going to go to my first real eye exam soon to get glasses, im just wondering when they tell me what kind of glasses prescription i need, will i be able to glasses on that day or will i most likely have to wait for them to make the glasses?
thanks
or does it depend on were i go? im thinking of lens crafters or pearle vision
Answer: it depends on where you go... lenscrafters can make your glasses in about an hour.... good luck!
Question: GLASSES?!?!?!?!?!?!? UMM I BROKE MY GLASSES AND I JUST WANTED 2 NOW LIKE HOW LONG IT TAKES 2 GET SUM NEW ONES AND HOW OLD U HAVE 2 B 2 GET CONTACTS OR IS IT JUST WHEN UR RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH UMM ANYWAYS THANX!!
Answer: it takes 2 to 3 days to make new glasses (if your Rx is less than 1 year old)
to wear contacts you need to be a responsible person, If you clean your room and take responsibility seriosly then you make be able to take care of contact and your eyes. (usually around 13 or 14 y/o)
when wearing contacts you have to worry about neovascularization, corneal ulcers, allergies, infections etc.
LASIK???? you need to be an adult and not have had a RX change for at least 2 years
Question: How can glasses change your appearance when you take them off? I've been wearing glasses for 4-5 years already and I'm near-sighted. When I take them off, I noticed that I have really big bags and dark circles under my eyes that are not visible when I'm wearing my glasses. My eyes also look more dry and different, compare to people who don't wear glasses.
Is this because of glasses or something else?
Thanks in advance.
Answer: i have that issue as well (i've been wearing glasses for eight years and when i take them off, i feel like i look totally different). i think it's due to the fact that my glasses are, in fact, covering part of my face; they cover the gap between your eyes, the top of your nose and the sides of your face). i think they probably look 'dry' because the glass might make them look glossy? lol, idk about that one. about the dark circles: the outline of your glasses actually frame your eyes, so that your actual eyes are right in the center, however, when you take them off, there is no frame making the dark circles very, very visible.
so, yeah, it's because of your glasses..
:)
Question: Do girls with glasses and guys without glasses make a good couple? I've seen girls without glasses and guys with them and they look good together, but guys without glasses and girls with...I don't know, I've never seen anyone! Just wondering, do you think girls plus glasses and guys without make a good couple? Not that I care about this or anything, but I was just wondering for the heck of it. Thanks!
Answer: In my opinion, if they are both happy and enjoy each other's company it will radiate [through] to others. The people that observe this will see that they are a good couple regardless of which wears glasses and which doesn't.
Question: How to find glasses that will fit tight and not fall off when active? How to I find a perfect fit? I want to be able to do a front/back flip without my glasses falling off. Im pretty active and need my glasses to stay on perfectly without drooping or slipping down or off. Im looking for glasses with no adjustable nose piece. Are there brands for this kind of glass I want? Want to spend about 150 for frame.
Answer: i would reccomend glasses with the little rubber nose pieces, and made of metal not moulded plastic
rubber nose pieces grip the nose well and can be adjusted for a comfortable/stable fit i know this is contradicting you but this is my opinion
metal frames will be able to be adjusted to fit the face better, and if they are impacted they will bend back into shape easier (as logn as its only minor damage
also i recomend you get plastic lenses because if you do break them, you will cause a whole lot less damage to yourself

Question: What are the best 3d glasses to use for 3d movies? I just watched My Bloody Valentine 3d with the typical green and red 3d glasses. It didn't look so good ( which I expected) and I wanted to know if there are any better 3d glasses to use for these movies so that you can enjoy them. I went to imax and the 3d movie there looked nicer, I am not sure if it was the 3d glasses or just the over all quality of the movie and the glasses put together. Thanks!
Answer: The problem is how different formats of 3d work and what equipment can and can not use those different formats. In the theaters they use polarized 3d. Everything has double images and one image is meant for the right eye and the other image is meant for the left eye. So the one image has one light wave and the other a different light wave, and the lens blocks the one light wave so the image can't get to your eye but the other one can.
Now when they made all those televisions and monitors they didn't make it to were all the pixels could put out 2 different light waves, they only put out just one. So polarized glasses won't work. So then for dvd's and online you have to resort to the red and blue kind of combination because that 3d uses color to block and unblock images, so all you need is a color television.
Now shutter glasses 3d format looks just like polarized and I have been to a Imax that used this for their 3d movies, and in the mid 1990's I had a field sequiencial 3d system for the old tube televisions that use shutter glasses, and this is the only other format that I have seen done for television. The new 3d pc game system Nvidia uses this format. These glasses must have a power supply and each lens opens while the other one closes. They do this back and forth really fast at the same time that the image for that eye flashes on the screen. For Nvidia you must have a 3d monitor that can handle those very fast flashing images on the screen, its refresh rate must be faster than monitors currently made, because for 3d it has to do twice the work of a 2d video.
Question: What's the difference between glass lenses and plastic lenses for glasses? Because I bought glasses, and i payed 110 for the glass lenses instead of just 60 for plastic, and I can't even tell if it's really glass or not. When I tap it is it supposed to sound the same as if I tapped on a window or something? Please help, I need to make sure i'm not being jipped.
Answer: Glass lenses are heavier but don't get scratched as easily as plastic lenses and/or vice-versa. I always get glass b/c there's a less chance of them getting scratched if cleaned with the wrong material. I prefer glass over plastic for this reason.
Question: How many glasses of water do you drink per day? I drink the right amount and I believe I drink 6 to 8 glasses of water. However sometimes I drink too much when I'm thirsty. I average maybe 8 to 9 glasses. So it depends.
Thanks and have a good one.
Answer: 8 - 12
i am always thirsty, and when i want some bad sweets i drink more water to help curb my sweet tooth
Question: How much are prescription glasses if you already have your prescription? I just want some basic plastic glasses (like the emo or fob glasses) that would look good. How much is a decent looking (Average Price) one from walmart or a eye glass store?
Answer: http://www.optical4less.com/plastic-eyeglasses/p113/
This one is very popular style. I bought it for my nephew from this very online store. You should try them. They are really cheap glasses, I mean lowest is 15$ for 1 pair with fast delivery also. Quality is great considering everything with the speed and the price. I order regularly from them so no problems with O4L. Good luck!
Question: How do those glasses that turn into sunglasses in the sun work? Some people have glasses that turn into shades when they're out in the sun. When they come indoors, it turns back into regular vision glasses. How do those lens work??
Answer: Transitions lenses are photochromic lenses. "Photochromic" means the lenses change from clear to dark in the presence of ultraviolet (UV) radiation, such as when exposed to sunlight. Indoors and at night, Transitions lenses are as clear as regular clear lenses. Outdoors, when exposed to the sun's UV rays, they turn sunglass dark, enhancing the quality of vision by reducing glare, thereby minimizing eye strain and fatigue, and improving contrast in all light conditions. And it's all automatic
thats from http://en-us.transitions.com/ those glasses are called transitions lenses
Question: What type of glasses should I get and how much would it cost? I need glasses badly. I can't see when I am far way from something. So what glasses should I get and how much would it cost?
Answer: Go to an optomertrist and get your eyes checked out.
Before you can get glasses, you need a script.
The script will say what time, strength etc.
You can buy the frames + glass from the same optomertrist or go to another.
You just bring your script along and choose your frames.
They can cost anywhere from 100-1000 dollars, depending on brand etc.
Look out for specials (eg frames plus glass $200)
going to an optomertrist isn't too expensive. The expensive part is the frames.
If you want to buy D&G or whatever then they'll cost you a bit. You can usually get a good pair plus the lenses(glass inside) for 150-300 dollars. Your choice will affect the price of the glasses.
xx

Question: How do you make your glasses more reflective? I'm going cosplaying as a character with glasses soon, and in the anime whenever he's doing something sneaky, his glasses reflect light so you can't see his eyes.
I was wondering if there was a way to do that in real life, because I think that would look cool for pictures. A flash on a camera might do it, but I'm not sure. Is there a way to get your glasses to reflect more light?
Answer: If you want to take still photos remember the old Physics rule. The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection. You will need to ensure that your flash is at an angle that will shine into the lens at the same angle as it hits the glass in the lens. This will be hard for a moving subject.
You are most likely going to only get flares from the light rather than a complete coverage of the lens. You might like to try using a silvered lens such as some sun glasses have and use a constant light such as a desk lamp if you don't have any constant studio lights. It would probably be best to set your lights in the Rembrandt positions. Ensure that your main light, being used for the reflection, is still at the right angle.
Easiest way is to take the photo then open Photoshop and create some vectors over the lens and then either design or download a chrome style and apply it to the vector. This would give you a really nice reflective cover. You could also take another photo from your perspective and then layer it over the chrome vector so that there is a reflection of the room in the glasses.
Question: IS it safe to use 2 glasses of different prescriptions? I just recently got new glasses, stronger prescription -_-, mostly in the left eye though, but I use my old glasses (Still useable) for stuff like computer-work and homework and whatnot.
Will my eyes be damaged or something if I continue to swap between those two glasses?
Answer: You probably shouldn't, for your own well being.
It's best that you keep to one, that way you don't get the awful headaches, and your eyes get used to one set of lenses.
