Question: What are the health benefits of pomegranate juice? I drank some yesterday and shortly after got a tummy ache. I don't know if it was from the juice or my lunch. Could I be allergic to it?
Answer: You may have acid reflux, in which case pomegranate juice isn't too great for your system.
Pomegranate juice is known to be a wonderful source for vitamin C, and also a strong potency in antioxidants, more than in green tea and in most fruits and vegetables. It also has lycopene, which you can find in cooked tomoatoes.
Question: Has anyone heard of health benefits of pomegranate juice? I have heard that it may help with improving circulation. If you have any experience with this, please share the sources of the juice which would be helpful.
Answer: A new study shows that pomegranate juice may help fight hardening of the arteries.
Researchers found that pomegranate juice not only appears to prevent hardening of the arteries by reducing blood vessel damage, but the antioxidant-rich juice may also reverse the progression of this disease.
Pomegranate juice may help thwart the return of prostate cancer after surgery or radiation for the disease, says a new study.
Question: Do cold-pressed fruit juices have special health benefits? Do cold-pressed fruit juices have special health benefits, I mean apart from the anti-oxidants which are present in most fruit.
By way of examples: Papaya is supposed good for the eyes, cranberry for the urinary system, pomegranate for cleaning out the blood vessels, banana for lifting the mood.
Do you know of others?
Answer: juices are derived in various manners, one being steam which of course is heated so hot that it literally wipes out a lot of vitamins, especially vitamin c, then is replaced with vitamin c (citric acid) that is not as easily metabolised by the body like the real thing. Steaming also leaves a lot of the natural sugar with the pulp and is usually replaced by a sweeter tasting, but not so healthy corn syrup, or other processed sugars.
Cold Pressed is just how it sounds...squeazing, squishing out the natural juices, and sugars..leaving almost all the vitamins (the skin of any fruit or vegatable is usually the most beneficial, as is the pulp).
If you are considering a more healthy lifestyle I would personally go with the whole fruit if you can.

Question: How much Cranberry juice do you have to drink a day to get the health benefits? Does it matter what type of d? I am looking for better urinary track health by drinking cranberry juice. It has a lot of calories so I don't' want to consume a tremendous amount each day.
Answer: I actually take cranberry pills. I usually have horrible UTIs again and again, but since I started taking cranberry pills (you can find them in the vitamin aisle), I haven't had a single one since I started taking them! I am so impressed.
Also, I have discussed them with my doctor, and she is actually happy that I am taking them, so I am assuming she approves of them and thinks they are safe :).
This might be too much information, but my UTIs are caused by sex, so after every time, I take 3 cranberry pills to help (I usually only take 2 every morning), and since I've starting doing this, I haven't had another one.
So, my main point is: I had a really hard time remembering to drink enough cranberry juice (plus the calories like you mentioned), so I now take cranberry pills, and I am a HUGE FAN!!! I think the benefits are even better than just drinking cranberry juice, because you can get even more in your system.

Question: What are health benefits of Green Squash Juice? well today in juiced some green squash and drank it today i just want to know what are the benefits..
THAANKss
Answer: Hey, You have chosen well today!
Green Squash has been found to have anti-cancer type effects
Some lab studies have shown vegetable juices obtained from squash to be parallel to juices made from leeks, pumpkin, and radish in their ability to prevent cell mutations (cancer-like changes).
It's also helpful for the prevention of atherosclerosis and diabetic heart disease. Summer squash's magnesium has been shown to be helpful for reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke. Together with the potassium in summer squash, magnesium is also helpful for reducing high blood pressure. The vitamin C and beta-carotene found in summer squash can help to prevent the oxidation of cholesterol. Since oxidized cholesterol is the type that builds up in blood vessel walls, these nutrients may help to reduce the progression of atherosclerosis.
So it's definately better than Coca Cola!
All the best
Question: what are the health benefits of drinking jamba juice? when you sub a meal for it.
Answer: Look at their nutritional labels. They have a book with that information at each of their shops. Generally, you'll get lots of vitamins from the fruit, some calcium from the yogurt, and other vitamins and minerals from the "boost". Comparing it with meal-substitute drinks like Slim Fast, I'd say Jamba Juice would be a very good meal substitute because it's made fresh. And Jamba tastes awesome! Watch the calories, though. The smallest cup really is about one to 1.5 servings. The medium cup has maybe 2 -3 servings in it.
