Question: Does ketup have the same health benefits as eating a regular tomato or is there a differences? i read that your support to eat a serving of tomato a day can that be replace by eating ketup ? Wat is the differences between the two?

Question: What are Health benefits of Drinking Tomato Soup Daily ?
is it helpful in constipation
Answer: it counts as one of your 5 a day, only 4 more to go
Question: I've been looking into which kinda of foods have the best health benefits? I'm finding that fruits like Pineapple, blueberries, apples, tomatoes and oranges are some of the best fruit to eat. So if I incorporate these into my daily menu, what are the benefits with this sort of diet? What other foods are really good for me? Is there a daily diet that someone has thought up with primarily or all healthy food that tastes great? Very simple meals and snacks are the way to go, nothing extensive or time consuming please. Also I don't eat pork, beef or chicken, fish only. Thanks!
Answer: The trick is to go for fresh food, non processed and most importantly to keep it varied
You could go for the fad foods, which are very expensive (goji berries are a good example) which give you a concentrated amount of a certain vitamin or mineral, but or lacking in other nutrients, or you can get the same for a fraction of the cost by just eating as many different fruits and vegs (or different colours - which tend to represent different nutrients) as possible.
If you only each fish, try to make sure to include 2 portions of oily fish per week such as salmon or tuna which are high in omega oils, and eat plenty of nuts and seeds if you aren't eating any other meat

Question: How Has my Eating Been So Far? And what Foods have the Most Health Benefits??? I am trying my best to eat very healthy. I am on a perfect weight for my height so I am not trying to lose weight. What foods have the most health benefits (as in fighting against cancer, heart disease, etc)
This is what I have had so far:
Breakfast: 1/2 cup fiberone cereal with 1/2 cup skim milk, 1/4 cup blueberries, and 1 banana
1 cup of hot water with large lemon wedge
Snack- 2 egg whites topped with 1 tablespoon peanut butter
Lunch- 2 slices light white bread enhanced with fiber each topped with 1/3 clove garlic, 1 slice of tomato, and 1/4 cup motzerella cheese.
7 raw okra pods
Ice water
Answer: basically everything ur eating is a good choice. try to stay away from motzerella though and get ur calcuim from milk instead :)
Question: What foods are good to eat for health on a daily basis and why? (please read details) How many nuts is one portion
brazil nuts
hazel nuts
almonds
walnuts
I also have hot water and lemon daily and porriage oats. I try to eat fruit and veg but my budget allows for only a few fresh and mostly the rest are frozen.
I basically want to eat to nourish my body as apposed to eating for the sake of eating. I want to be choosing food for their health properties as well as to fill me up and fuel me for the day.
Currently my meals are as follows:
Breakfast - milk oats, milk, yogart, raisons, 2 of each of the nuts mentioned above.
Lunch - cheese and tomatoes on multigrain bread
Dinner - either jacket potatoes or pasta with 1 serve of peas, sweet corn, green beans and spinach, sunflower and pumpkins seeds.
Snacks - yogart, jelly, mandarins
What could I add to my diet to enrich it for good health benefits?
Thanks
I forgot to add that I also eat tofu with my evening meal or as a snack. Sometimes I have egg.
Answer: Your diet seems good to me. Vary your protein sources. Do you drink soymilk? It's really high in protein. Have a glass or two every day. That doesn't mean giving up dairy by the way, just varying what you consume.
A portion of nuts is 50-80g, about a handful. A handful of nuts every day will boost your health- unless you're allergic to them. Most nuts and seeds (especially almonds) are high in vitamin E. It's thought that people who eat nuts have better heart health because vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant. That aside, they're also high in selenium, another antioxidant. And protein, fibre and a whole host of B vitamins. In fact they are one of the most nutritious foods ever. ;)
Question: Can someone drink too much tomato juice? All of a sudden, I've been drinking tomato juice like there's no tomorrow. I find it very tasty and refreshing. Problem is, a single serving is 26% of the daily recommended serving for sodium. I've been drinking between 4-6 servings a day. Just wondering if there are long term issues in my future and cut back now, or the health benefits of the added "vegetable servings" outweigh potential risks. Any nutritionists out there?
I tried the low sodium and it tastes awful. I cannot drink that stuff.
Answer: I love my tomato juice as well, but drinking too much a day will cause your body to over load with acid, which can cause gout, which i have been told is very painful, so be careful. Kaye
Question: What kind of vitamins or benefits we can expect when we eat tomatoes raw? Does eating tomato raw improve our body or health?
Answer: Raw tomatoes are full of vitamin C they help keep you from getting colds.
Question: What brand(s) of whole wheat pasta do YOU recommend? I absolutely love pasta, and I'm looking to switch to whole wheat because of the health benefits. However, I've read some pretty mixed reviews about the taste and texture. I know it'll taste different and I'm sure I'll get used to it, but I don't want it to taste like cardboard either!
Soooo.....can you recommend some of your favorite whole wheat pastas?
PS. I'm not looking to cover up the taste with lots of tomato sauce or cheese. Usually, I just have plain pasta tossed with some mixed veggies and sometimes a little parmesan cheese.
Answer: You probably will NOT taste a difference. I thought I would, but I can tell much of a difference. I use Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat and Barilla Plus Multi-Grains. Both are very good. You will like them.
Question: Can Tomatoes Prevent Cancer? Okay so for several years now, I've heard a lot of good things about tomatoes. I heard they are good for your health, and I've also heard that tomatoes can also prevent cancer. However last night I was doing some research and I read somewhere in the internet where it clearly said that a recent research suggests that tomatoes cannot prevent cancer. Okay so I'm a little confused here. Some people are saying one thing while others are saying the other. So does anyone know the truth about tomatoes? Because I would like to know. And also what are the benefits from eating tomatoes? Thanks.
Answer: Lycopene, a compound found in tomatoes, is widely touted as a protector against cancer, particularly prostate cancer.
Studies keep proving and disproving each other, they are natural and fruits and veggies are healthy! I am a raw food vegan and feel great!
Question: Is being vegetarian easy? I'm 14 and always wished I had the willpower to be vegetarian. Ever since I was little.
I always used to ask my parents. And my dad said no. He said I didn't like green leafy vegetables enough yet, so would get anemia because I wouldn't have enough iron.
Now this year, I've quietly said I want to try for a while. And am gradually start reducing my intake of meat. It's been very easy so far and I haven't eaten any meat through 2009. Last night mum cooked spaghetti bolognaise for the 5 of us. I just had the pasta with pureed tomatoes and cooked onions. I don't really like meat THAT much. Apart from nutroast/meatloaf. Can you get a vegetarian version of that?
Also, what are the health benefits of being vegetarian? Most vegetarians I know are very slim, why is this?
Also, what bad things can happen from being vegetarian if you aren't careful? A girl in my class went vegetarian. She didn't look into it much though, and stuck to the same diet which she had when she ate meat, minus the meat.
She put on weight, got spots, then collapsed and was in hospital for 3 days. What happened?
Answer: no i dont think ther is a veg version of meatloaf
vegetarians are often slim because they dont get alot of the fat or protein from meat
sounds like your goin about it the right way...gradually you will get used to notving the mean.....i often find that if i try to stop eating sumthing after a few weeks i dont even like the taste of it anymore
Question: I hate ALL vegetables...how can I eat healthier? I'm a 17-year-old girl. I know how important vegetables are in a healthy diet, and all the health benefits that come with them. However, throughout my entire life, I have never been able to enjoy eating vegetables. It actually makes me nauseous to even imagine eating tomatoes, cauliflower, spinach, broccoli, etc, etc. Whenever I'm forced to eat salads (like at a friend's house, for example), I can manage to force myself to eat about half of it, but then I feel like I will vomit if I eat any more of it. I can handle eating raw carrots, peas, corn, and potatoes, but nothing else. I really want to enjoy eating vegetables...what should I do??
I already drink V8 Juice and eat vitamins...is there anything else I can do?
Answer: Mix them right.
sounds like the vegetables and salads you're eating are really bland.
Try putting apples or mandarin oranges or sweet glazed walnuts on your salads. Be sure to include a lot of your favorite dressing and let the dressing soak into the veggies to get the maximum flavor mix.
Try mixing the veggies in a well-established way. For instance, tomatoes, onions, garlic, basil, and oregano are amazing together on spaghetti, and that's still a lot of veggies.
You can also stir fry veggies with some tofu and add a nice sauce.
Really, warming up to veggies is tough, but it's all about mixing the flavors well so that the veggies aren't horrendously bland. I'd hate them too if it wasn't for spices and sauces.
Also, if you still can't stand veggies, at least eat plenty of fruits.
Question: Making Tomato Paste Palatable? For the health benefits, I'm trying to eat half a can of tomato paste for breakfast. However, I cannot go two teaspoons without gagging. What can I incorporate to mask the flavor, and get it down?
Preferably something simple... like not making pasta, etc.
Thanks
Answer: Regular tomato paste has a lot of salt. Maybe THAT is what is bothering you. Try a salt-free or low sodium paste.
There are tomato pastes with spices, garlic, etc. You might find one of them more palatable.
By the way:
Tomato paste + water = tomato juice.
