Healthier Protein Whey
Question: Which is safer and healthier, Whey Protein or Creatine? Which do you think is more effective. I would like to know their effectiveness and which is safer.
Answer: Whey protein is more effective if you are starting a workout and creatine is effective if you consume enough protein and water. Therefore, I believe Whey protein is essensial and only take creatine if you have reach a plateau.
Question: Is soy or whey protein healthier? I'm looking to gain some weight, an in addition to simply eating more and getting more exercise, I am looking to add either whey or soy protein to shakes and drink about one of these a day. I was wondering, are there any negative side effects to consuming this much of either of these kinds of protein? Are there any better alternatives to these other two types? Any other tips?
thanks! For reference, I am male, 20, and have a BMI of 17.6.
Answer: I agree ^^^^^ whey all the way!! It has too many benefits to it, especially when you consume a quality product. Whey protein is a rich source of branched chain amino acids (BCAAs), containing the highest known levels of any natural food source. BCAAs are important for athletes since unlike the other essential amino acids, they are metabolized directly into muscle tissue and are the first ones used during periods of exercise and resistance training. Whey protein provides the body with BCAAs to replenish depleted levels and start repairing and rebuilding lean muscle tissue.Whey protein is an excellent source of the essential amino acid, leucine. Leucine is important for athletes as it plays a key role in promoting muscle protein synthesis and muscle growth. Research has shown that individuals who exercise benefit from diets high in leucine and have more lean muscle tissue and less body fat compared to individuals whose diet contains lower levels of leucine. Whey protein isolate has approximately 50% more leucine than soy protein isolate. I use a chemical free whey protein minus the fillers and additives from http://www.bulkprotein.com
Whey protein is a soluble, easy to digest protein and is efficiently absorbed into the body. It is often referred to as a "fast" protein for its ability to quickly provide nourishment to muscles.
Whey protein helps athletes maintain a healthy immune system by increasing the levels of glutathione in the body. Glutathione is an anti-oxidant required for a healthy immune system and exercise and resistance training may reduce glutathione levels. Whey protein helps keep athletes healthy and strong to perform their best.
Question: Is whey protein healthier than taking creatine? I'm trying to build mass and gain weight. I'm just concerned about taking supplements.
Answer: whey protein is absolutely a very healthy and natural way to gain muscle. All it is is protein and it actually is better than protein from meat or other stuff cuz it will go straight to your muscle unlike meat it will take some time. Not saying that meat is bad you should also eat it too. All natural body builders recommend it.

Question: Is whey protein supplement healthy at my age and weight? Hi, I go to the gym 5 times a week and I always take Myoplex 20g protein after my workout and was wondering if Whey Protein is healthy for me. I am 16 with a hight of 1.73m and I weigh 98kg.
Answer: Yes you need it and its healthy, and you should have more like 40 grams of protein after your workout.
Question: Is whey protein good for you? I really don't like trying things out that come from a factory? I believe in getting my protein for the day from chicken breasts, eggs, beans, cheese, that stuff. So is whey protein healthy? And what happens if a person takes whey protein and then stops?
Answer: the trouble with whey is that its digested extremely fast and out of the body unlike most of the normal protein food that you stated, whey is just a quick fix that costs a few $ to mass produce but they can sell it for whatever to people who think its vital for anabolism as with ALL the so called essential supplements, over the years there has been these and others-
Boron
Frac
Free Form Amino Acids
Yohimbe
Smilax
Dibencozide
Bee Pollen
Chromium Picolinate
DMG
Raw Glandulars
Mumie
Inosine
L -Carnitine

Herbal Growth Hormone Releasers and a combination of 3 amino acids which was supposed to work but didn't just like the rest of this garbage, its ALL about extracting as much money as possible from gullible guys , Pro body builders are paid extremely well to endorse supplements BUT ALL use steroids to obtain their OWN mass...
Question: Is whey protein isolate healthy for the body after a workout? Are there any artificial ingrediants that makes this suplement unhealthy?
Answer: Yes, but not directly after. The first thing you need to do is replace glycogen stores so that your body will not eat your muscle for energy. A couple pieces of fruit or a glass of grape juice followed 30 minutes later by your protein drink will help insure quicker recovery and growth.
Question: is Six Star Muscle whey protein healthy for people under 18? I am currently trying to build up muscle at the gym. Question: What would be a healthy intake of Whey Protein for a 180lb Football player? I take suppliements, and just wondering how much i should take daily.
Answer: One or two scoops max per day. You need protein from a variety of sources. Eat skinless chicken, fish, steak, nuts, beans, milk, and eggs for more protein.
Also remember that whey protein is just protein, not calories. You need protein AND calories to get big. Where do you get calories from? Not some muscle milk formula, but actual milk and lots and lots of pasta and cheese and turkey sandwiches.

Question: How much Whey Protein do we need each day? Need to stop with the junk food and eat healthier. I purchased a can of whey protein to mix with a smoothie but not sure how much or how often?
Answer: How much protein you need depends on your weight and what you're trying to accomplish. The average person is said to need .37 g/pound of body weight. If you do weight training or are extremely active, 1g/pound is normal. Bodybuilders trying to bulk go up to 1.5-2g/pound. That's total protein in your diet, not just whey.
First thing in the morning and post-workout are the best times for whey.
Question: Is Whey Protein healthy and beneficial? I try and workout everyday. Of course, I do not lift weights everyday, but I like to get my daily exercise in. I am not trying to get all commando and look like a bodybuilder, but I do know that I would like to tone my muscle. WOuld it be okay if I used whey protein for me just to help muscle growth and all??
Answer: Sure no problem to use it every day. Every body needs to get a minimum of about 75 grams of protein a day (needs are based on your body weight). Most people don't get nearly enough.
Enjoy a protein drink every day.
Question: How can you make a protein shake with natural ingrediants, like without the "whey protein" powder? I am 13. I am not a body builder but I won't to be able to make a natural protein shake that keeps me healthier than I already am. And what I mean by natural is like without the whey protein powder stuff, like make it with natural, house-hold items. Like examples of that would be like milk, fruits, and stuff like that. And if I can make this, then how many times a day should I drink it?
Sincerely,
Quinn
Thanks! =Þ
Answer: Try some of the protein shake recipes found here http://www.protein-shakes.ca
I make them for my kids without the protein powders (and sometimes with - depending on what they're eating that day and their activities that day), though sometimes with milk or soy milk instead. As for how many times a day, it really depends on which shake recipe you use and what the rest of your diet is like. If you've got a good well balanced diet and you're not training heavily, there isn't really a 'need' to have your food as a protein shake - its just sometimes convenient or sometimes a tasty treat instead of junk food.
Question: Healthy Whey Protein & Workout Diet? hey. im currently in high school and live a very active lifestyle.
im 6'1 lean with 145 pounds.
ive been working out lately and ive been getting cut up muscles but my arms are still sort of skinny.
my chest and abs are starting to get a little cut up too. but of course im still "skinny",
i bought some whey protein and it said to take 3 scoops. (180 grams)
mix into 16 oz. of water after a workout.
it was sort of tough to drink through thickness but i culd see myself going through the whole tub, so thats not an issue.
ive been doin sum snooping around and im just wondering is 180 grams of protein too much for after a workout?
if so, how much shuld i take after a workout?
how many times a day?
i usually only have one big workout a day, for most of the days of the week.
and lastly when shuld i drink the protein, after a workout of course.
but are there any times i shuld? and how much
Answer: Well to answer your question directly, TIME gives you results, not protein powder.
I don't go to the gym, but I do have big biceps and good overall muscle definition on my body. I mainly do a small workout (less than 20 mins) every day, then once a week get out the ol' bench and do some semi-serious stuff once or twice a week (depending on time I've got).
But my point is, people's bodies react differently to different things.
6f1" is tall, but you also say your body mass is "lean".
Often it's hard to gain muscle on top of nothing, which is why some people seeking to improve their look also go for "weight gaining" powder. I wouldn't really suggest this, but you could look into it yourself.
But I can't really answer your question directly, I don't take protein powders but I can't really emphasise enough that taking any supplements won't magically give you muscles.
I would just advise you to take the recommended dose, because protein powders do NOT build muscle. They help with muscle REPAIR after a workout, so your body will start to adjust and increase muscle mass in the area of workout.
A recommended routine:
1 protein shake (3 scoops) before and after workout. This is all I can suggest really, normally it's taken with milk. The shake before a workout should be taken about half hour to an hour before you start exercising. The one after should be taken about 15-30 mins after. This is because they may cause you to be sick.
I'd like to go into what you should be actually doing in your workout, but that's really another subject. It could be that your workout isn't really giving you the best results.
Just as a rough guide, you should make sure that your not causing muscle burning (you should stop lifting when you feel discomfort).
You should only lift weights that are in reasonable range.
You should be really doing 5-30 reps of an exercise, then changing to a different type, the higher the reps, the lesser the weight. lower reps, bigger weight = power. more reps, less weight = endurance.
So yeah, that's just from my experience, I hope I have in some way helped.
Question: Is the substance whey protein really healthy for a 17 year old weight lifter?
Answer: Yes. There's nothing wrong with Whey Protein for a 17 year old. It's just one form of protein and most people don't get near enough protein anyway. A weight lifter definitely needs to supplement protein because he/she is tearing down muscle fibers that require protein to be repaired.
Question: Is drinking whey protein shakes healthy? Perhaps a dumb question, but I was going to start drinking a way protein shake every morning, about 42g of protein. I mix it with milk, an egg, ice, honey, and a banana. I am never hungry in the morning, so this seems to be the perfect fit. Is this good for you? How about being good for your skin, and hair? Thanks
Answer: It looks great! As long as you are working out and burning the calories you will be fine.
