Question: Why are goji berries healthy? ? Why are goji berries healthly? I also need to know what they help for and where they are found. Thanks for the help and I know this isent a normal questian i would ask cause its for school thanks!

Answer: It depends what the other values are...If it has enough good things to make up for that much fat then I would say it's fine.
If it really doesn't contribute anything to your diet then stay away from it unless it's just wonderful or something.
It also depends how much fat you consume in a day...I know as a vegan I eat very little fat to start with...

There are other things that are very healthy.............go with them :-)
If you really need to have them as a personal desire, try mixing with cranberry..........it overpowers that goji taste and cranberries are very healthy as well............(I mean real cranberry juice, not the loaded with sugar cranberry cocktail thing).

Question: WHERE IS THE CHEAPEST PLACE TO BUY GOJI BERRIES OR CACAO NIBS?
I can't afford some of the astronomical prices ive seen around, I know they are expensive but im looking for the absolute lowest price possible per 1kg. I did find a website based in sheffield that were very reasonable but have since lost the link :S
I know there's lots of folk out there who love their super foods so if anyone has any advice that would be really helpful since it seems to be the only way to get my Dad to eat healthier!

Question: is it possible to eat too many goji berries? i on occasion eat 250g of the berries a day, i find it stops me from eating other unhealthy foods such as chips and biscuits and gives me heaps of energy in the morning for a workout. surely a much healthier alternative?? i recently found a stockist that sells them for only $10 AUS for a 600g bag so was going to stock up, but have read that it can be bad too have too many???

Too much of anything is probably not a good thing. Goji berries are a very potent berry and I would think that too many would throw your body off balance.
Your body needs a variety of nutrients and foods to stay Healthy.

Question: How Healthy Am I? HONEST Answers Please!? I'm a 17 years old girl and I want to know how well I'm eating.
Although it would be nice to lose a some pounds, my ultimate goal is to maintain weight.
I have gym everyday in school. I do mostly weight training (dead-lifts, barbell front squats, lunges, lots of dumbbell workout, etc.) and run 2 miles once a week (sometimes 3 miles, depending on my teacher's mood). I also attend dance class after school.
Personally, I'm not worried about my workouts. What I'm concerned about is the things I eat. Here's a sample (list of stuff I ate today so far):
Breakfast: A bowl of plain steel-cut Irish oatmeal, a boiled egg and an apple.
Snack: I usually don't eat anything between breakfast and lunch. But today I was kind of hungry so I ate like a handful of almonds and goji berries (they're good for your eyes).
Lunch: 100% whole wheat spaghettini with a ton of broccoli, few thin slices of baked chicken breast and homemade tomato sauce (made of fresh tomatoes, onions, extra virgin olive oil, garlic, parsley, basil, basil,celery, a bit of sea salt and black pepper).
Although the sauce is homemade, I try not to eat too much of it.
Snack: A small orange and half of a mango.
Dinner: Half a bowl of brown rice. I don't like it much but mom makes me eat it.
A bowl of homemade herbal soup (has chicken, longan, Chinese yams & other herbs)
A bit of red meat (beef/pork/occasionally lamb) and onions.
A bit of fish.
A ton of spinach and celery.
Throughout the day: Water
I don't measure how much I eat. I eat until I feel sort of full but never to the point where I can't take another bite. Rarely do I ask for seconds. Also, I don't go out to eat unless I absolutely have to (birthday party, wedding celebration, etc)
So how healthy do you think I eat?
Is there anything wrong with what I'm eating??? Again, HONEST answers please!
Do you guys have any recommendations?

Answer: if your REALLY worried tell your doctor what you eat and they will tell you what your missing
honestly to me it sounds good but you should take calcium pills to get the right amount of calcium that your missing from milk
Question: Have I been healthy so far today?I have to go out for dinner tonight? I am 5'9, 136 pounds, want to lose at least 10 pounds and just eat healthy. I went for a run/jog this morning when I woke up for about 30 minutes. Heres what I have eaten:
Breakfast
small bowl of bite size weetabix with low fat milk (weetabix are low sugar, high fiber, whole grain)
handful of goji berries and an organic strawberry yogurt
Lunch
small peach and a stick of organic cheddar cheese
cup of tea with low fat milk and splenda
For dinner we are going to a restaurant and I looked at the menu beforehand..it's annoying because it's a set menu and you have to have 2 courses. So I will have smoked salmon with a lemon dressing thing and then either a warm aubergine salad or baked fish. The fish has noodles with chilli sauce with it though so im not sure this is a good choice. Any advice?
Answer: Lunch seems a little light. Maybe add some more salad, and have the peach for afternoon snack.
Make sure you eat (or rather ate, seeing as it's getting late already) something between lunch and going out tonight. To go that long would make you binge more.

Answer: Fruits and vegetables are probably the best snacks you could ever have. Celery with peanut butter is a nice filling snack. Slice up a few different kinds of fruits and make kabobs!
Question: Is this a healthy breakfast? Muesli nuts & seeds mix with raisins. With added linseed & mixed seeds such as pumpkin seeds and hemp seeds, etc. Dried goji berries, chopped dried apricot, mixed berries in a packet, they have been dried but are chewy. I didnt enjoy it this morning though because I poured about 30grams meusli and thought that would be a nice small amount but by the time I had added the stuff in my bowl was a bit full and it soaked up all the milk too much and was a bit dry so had to keep adding milk....

Answer: this is a very healthy breakfast adding milk is fine as long as it was semi-skimmed and not full fat
Question: healthy whole-foods morning smoothie recipe? ? I make a shake yesterday morning, I used ground raw cacao and goji berries. then added soy milk and a bit of organic cranberry juice. a scoop of greens+ and a few frozen organic strawberries and a drop of honey. It was good! Got any ideas of what else I could throw in there? I thought flax and chia seeds, essential oils, chlorophyll (for detox)

Answer: I do pediasure and ice cream with a bit of extra chocolate syrup. That's probably not what you're looking for but it's still good.

Answer: that sounds pretty good, healthy indeed. If you intend on walking/jogging try incorporate some sprinting in there as well, lets face it which athletes look better, sprinters, or endurance runners? Sprinters are the answer. Also do some skipping! and drink the mighty green tea.

Answer: Green Machine Naked Juice (edited to add: This stuff is awesome. It just tastes fruity, not like veggies at all. The thing is though, it does kind of smell a bit strange because it has seaweed and stuff in it. Hee hee. I drink it almost every day but I try not to breathe in through my nose while I'm drinking! Ha! On the plus side, even if you try it and hate it you are only out a few bucks. You can also try the Naked Juice Gold Machine, as well. That flavor can be harder to find but it is AWESOME.)

I am the same way, I eat constantly throughout the day. I love annnything crunchy. Pita chips are one of my all time favorites. There is a brand called Stacey's that makes a flavor called "Simply Naked". They are toasted Pita chips flavored with sea salt and nothing else. AWESOME.

Breakfasts smoothies and oats with goji berries, flaxseed and soy milk
Lunches always loads of green salad with lean meat
dinner vegies and fish grilled. Snack on nuts and yoghurt.
But I eat maccas 2 -3 times a week.
Is this okay?
Answer: depends on what you eat at maccas, apart from this you are very healthy. if you have a big mac 2-3 nights a week u could have a problem, just look at supersize me
