High Protein Drink
Question: Side effects to Boost High Protein drink? I love drinking Boost High Protein drinks. Do you know of any side effects to this drink? I drink about 3 a day. Experience with this would be great but I will take all info. into consideration.
Answer: There's no side effects to drinking it, it just has basic nutrients, lots of calories, and a bit of protein smacked into it. Only side effect for an average person is that if you drink way too much you'll start gaining weight (only because that happens with anything that contains fat/calories). It's a decent drink, but just be aware of the cals in it.
Question: is Boost Nutritional Energy Drink High Protein Chocolate bad for you? Well, I do know energy drinks of any kind are bad for you but since I bought a 12 pack Boost Nutritional Energy Drink (high protein chocolate flavor) , would this be bad to drink because it says "Energy Drink", shouldn't that mean that is bad? I know that energy drinks messes up your brain
also, doesn't it make you feel more tired?
Answer: A lot of energy drinks are unhealthy because they contain high amounts of caffeine and sugar. I don't think that Boost contains much caffeine, if it contains any at all. But I'm not sure how much sugar it contains. You need to look at the label to see how much sugar is in one serving of Boost. If it is more than 10 grams per serving, that is kind of high. But at least Boost contains a decent amount of protein. Most energy drinks contain little or no protein.
Question: Can I give the High Protein drink called, BOOST, to my baby rabbits? They are about a week old. Their mother died after they gave birth, so I'm wondering if they can drink this.
Answer: I would not, although it may be better than nothing. Your local vetrinarian can sell you a can of formula, and lend general advice. You may be able to feed them with an eyedropper. You should be aware that you are likely to lose some of them.
Question: What's The Best High Protein Drink Mix? I attend a gym regularly and also play baseball, and want to become better at baseball. Im in a really good shape, i just want to add a high protein powder to my workouts because i've been told that it helps you gain so much more from your workouts. What's the best or a really good one to use, and if you could, add the price with the size of container. Thanks to all in advanced
Answer: I'm in the same position as you. I just started taking a protein shake because I wanted to gain muscle mass. So far I'm liking what I'm using now( I just started taking it about 5 days ago). It tastes pretty decent. I can handle it and I don't think it will be that bad for you either. It's actually a pretty good deal. Well here it is:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Body-Fortress-Super-Advanced-Whey-Protein-Cookies-N-Cr-Me-Protein-Supplement-2-lb/10322371
They sell it at Walmart and it's about 16 dollars there. Good luck.
Question: I need a high quality protein drink, what do you recommend from experience? not for body building or anything, but to get adequate amounts of protein in my system for hair loss.
thank you for your time.
Answer: Naked Protein™ is not bad. It has a pineapple flavor and it contains like 36 grams of protein in one small bottle I think, give it a try.

Question: super high protein drink? I have been drinking Ensure Plus, and it only comes with 16g of protein. I drink twice a day, but my friends told me 16g per bottle is not enough. Is there any drink out there (in bottle) that has over 30g of protein? Thanks.

Question: How much Ensure High Protein should i drink? I'm trying to gain some weight, I am a 15 year old girl, im 5'5 and only weight 104 pounds. I recently bought Ensure High Protein, how many of these should i be drinking to gain some weight? Or would it be more logical to buy Ensure Plus instead of Ensure High Protein?
Please Answer! Thanks in advance. (10 pts to best answer!)
Answer: Neither. Here's why.
Ensure is a great product for people who really need it. Those people are ones that have a difficult time getting adequate nutrition, e.g. people on liquid diets or who cannot tolerate a normal diet. Otherwise, it's simply too expensive if all you want is some extra calories.
Ensure costs something like $2 per can, right? Each can is about 250 calories. You're thus paying $8 per 1000 calories.
Compare: 2% milk is about 2000 calories per gallon. If you pay $2.50 per gallon, then you're paying only $1.25 per 1000 calories.
If you want more concentrated calories, you can add a weight gain powder. You can purchase these at places like GNC, or through vendors on the internet. These powders cost somewhere between $1.25 and $3 per 1000 calories, depending on the brand you purchase.
Bottom line: Ensure is fine, but there are far more economical sources available if your only concern is weight gain.
Question: Why are people following high-protein diets advised to drink high volumes of water? What effects could not drinking enough water have on the urninary system?
"urinary system"
Answer: Firstly, I assume you are trying to build muscle.
And just like Insomniac said - "Proteins are made of amino acids. All AAs have a nitrogen in their backbone. Hence, eating lots of protein = lots of N in your diet. Water helps the kidneys process all that nitrogenous waste. Otherwise you'd be way overloading your kidneys."
However, to better answer your question, you drink high volumes of water to prevent kidney stones! Without enough water (and pepsin in your stomach) to break down the proteins consumed, solutes (solids) can accumulate in your kidneys forming a kidney stone. Trust me, you WANT to avoid stones.. The pain is equivalent to child birth some say.
Hope it helps!
Question: high protein drink, but not super high...? i am a 16 year old male, and i am starting to work out, and i want to know if there is a drink/shake that is high in protein, but not an actual "protein shake" (16+ stuff), as i am put off but the age guidance. if you still don't understand, i am looking for a safe drink (eg: Horlicks), and is high in protein, but wont kill me if i take a bit too much :P
Answer: Please don't eat raw eggs as suggested, that is very unsafe. You can get salmonella bacteria.
Unless you are eating 3-4-5 times the amt of protein needed per day, which I doubt you are, don't worry much. Adding a protein shake a day to your normal daily diet is fine. My son is 16, strength trains religiously and has a protein shake each day after working out. Go down the health/diet aisle at your local walmart or target, pick up a tub of protein powder shake mix and enjoy.
Question: what is the name of a high protein drink? Had oral surgery so I need protein to drink
Answer: Boost, Ensure, Muscle Milk
Question: What can you eat/drink on a low carb, high protein diet? I would like a list of what you can eat and drink on a low carb, high protein diet. Something like the Atkins diet. A link would be great or just you typing a list. Thanks. Also if and what needs to moderated.
Answer: First link is to all acceptable foods.
During the first 2 weeks, you can have several cups of salads. Jicama, cucumber, celery & radish marinated in sesame oil & hot pepper flakes with rice wine vinegar & artificial sweetener. Make a stir fry with Bok Choy, bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, celery, mushrooms, shirataki noodles & your fav meats. I love eggs and could eat deviled eggs every day. You can smother omelets & meats with mushrooms & peppers & cheese. Meatzza - Meatloaf with pizza toppings (pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, mozzarella) I prefer very thin sausage patties fried crispy with pizza toppings. Pork rinds & celery sticks are great crunch and can be eaten with dips (avocado/mayo/cayenne is my fav) & tuna/chicken/turkey/egg salads. I love love love my rotisserie and it makes the meats extra tasty. I cook a turkey every couple of months and make soup with the bones (add vinegar to leach minerals) and turkey salads. I'll cube up some turkey meat mix in a couple of raw eggs add cheese (and broccoli after induction) with cayenne powder & nuke a couple of minutes for nearly instant meal. Flax seed should be eaten 2T daily even in induction.
Ground flax seed (2-3 Tbsp) 1/4 cup of water, cinnamon, artificial sweetener, mix in a raw egg - let sit 10 min to absorb liquid, put some cream cheese in the middle and nuke for 1.5 min. for hot cereal or 2 min. for more of a muffin type thing. Great low carb, high fiber treat.
After the 2 week induction, you add 5 grams of carbs per day every week and add a much greater variety of non starchy vegetables. Change your mindset - eat what you like to eat, just adapt it to low carb -
replace bread with lettuce
replace pasta with cabbage
replace rice with cauliflower
replace potatoes with brocolli
I eat all my favorite Chinese, Italian, even Mexican foods with low carb foods. Cabbage makes an excellent pasta substitute (for me) Make a lasagna with blanched cabbage leaves & thinly fried eggplant instead of noodles. Sugar free pasta sauce over fried cabbage. My fav is chicken cacciatore, I add greens & flaxseed or chia seed for body and also add pizza toppings - pepperoni, mushrooms, lots of mozzarrella. Alfredo sauce is also low carb.
I don't cook often. I usually make huge batches of food & freeze most of it. I cook meats 20-30# at a time (for just me) I have gone into the forums for recipes (especially when I first started low carb) I was shocked that fried "rice" made with grated cauliflower tasted just like it's name sake. Shirataki noodles are traditional in Japanese sukiyaki and low carb. I've heard faux mashed "taters" made with cauliflower & cream cheese can fool non low carbers. "potato" salad using cauliflower instead.
Hope I've given you a start, I just don't cook much but many recipes abound. Adapt what you've always eaten first (I bet someone has a recipe for it or low carb version) and then start exploring.
Chia seeds sound so expensive but 1# will make 10# food (when you can splurge some - Amazon.com has couple lbs. for $16 shipped to you.
I also order off Amazon - Lowrey's Pork Rinds 18 for $15 - they pop like popcorn and are portion controlled.
Faux tapioca - 2 cups of water, 5 scoops of low carb whey protein powder, stir together & add cup of chia seeds, after they have started to absorb the water, add in 2 cans of coconut milk (or cream and added water during induction) & artificial sweetener if you like and mix it all in. Can be eaten after an hour but will be better tomorrow. Cream a pkg. of cream cheese into a can of pumpkin and add to the faux tapioca for an even more nutritious pumpkin pie pudding.
(berries are lowest glycemic) Cheesecake - strawberry ice cream (frozen berries, cream, a stick blender) - pork rinds great crunch - i eat lots of fish for snack (fish "steaks" or mackerel in tins are favs)- avocado/mayo/cayenne dip - olives

Question: Is it better to drink protein or to eat foods that have high amounts of it? I want to consume protein to help my muscle growth. But I have questions: Is it better to drink protein (protein drinks, or add protein powder to a drink) or to eat foods with high amounts of it (I prefer meat: roasted beef/steak)? Is their any pros & cons to eating it or drinking it? Is one healthier than another. If you have any tips for me I would appreciate those too. Thank you.
Answer: If you cannot get at least 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight from regular food, which many people cannot, then supplementing protein is a good idea.
Another reason people use it is for convenience. The best time for protein is within 30 min after your workout. It's easier to just mix up a shake than to cook up a steak, especially if you go to a gym.
Question: What is the purpose of drinking high protein shakes before gastric bypass surgery? My doctor has me drinking nothing but water and high protein shakes (Ultramet 42 protien) before my bypass surgery. They are making me so sick that i had to stop drinking them. I feel like i want to throw up all day and i just cannot sleep since i have been taking them. I am more depressed and less energy.
I stopped drinking them and just waiting for my body to get back to normal.
What is the real purpose of drinking these shakes? Do i HAVE to drink them for the surgery to be done?
Answer: maybe there's another kind of protein shake you can take. you can buy them at a health food store, the salesman should be knowledgeable about it at gnc. it wont be the same as the doctor prescribed one but it'll have vitimines in it that you may be able to compare to the one you have that makes you sick & i'm sure it'll taste a lot better. you really should ask ur doctor but if you didn't drink them for ur first g.b. maybe it won't harm if you don't drink it this time either. i hate to see you so sick.
Question: Is it better to take a high protein or a high carbohydrate drink after a workout to build muscles?
Answer: dude. you want a high protein shake with under 6 grams of fat immediately after a workout. carbs after a workout with slow down the protein absorption rate. about an hour before a workout i would recommend a high protein shake as well, but with some added carbs to give you some energy during your workout. i myself have a max5 protein shake mixed with some peanut butter about 45 minutes before a workout and some iso-whey protein right after.
Question: Does anyone know where I can purchase Health Wise High Protein Fruit Drink nutritional supplements? They are aspartame free, has 70 to 80 calories and come in 0.69 oz bottles. I can't seem to find them on line.

Question: Should i drink High Protein Milk Shake after i workout or before?

You should try nitric oxide before your workout. Its safe, legal, and effective. You will experience weight gains in every workout and along with your protein, will gain more muscle.
