Home Party Business
Question: What is a good home party business to do? I am looking for a home party business to start like Pampered Chef or Mary Kay. They all seem to vary so much in what they pay. Can anyone tell me a good company to work for?
Answer: The one answer I read was a great one. It depends on what your interests are. You have to love what you are doing in order to do it well I believe. You have to believe in the product you are selling and use the product you are selling. Yes all these companies vary in the pay scale, etc, but again if you don't like it or are not interested in it, that will translate into your demos. Before I joined Pampered Chef, I looked at a couple of different companies. I even tried one that was 50% commission but it didn't last. I have always liked PC products and as I have a family I cook a lot so I knew PC would be a good fit for me. I can write off half my grocery bill per month because I try the recipes on my family first. That has been helpful in this economy. So, search yourself and see where your interests lie. If you are leaning towards PC and have more questions, I would be happy to answer them. Right now they are doing a rebate on the starter kit:) [email protected]

Question: How do I start a home jewelry party business? I want to find hostesses to have home parties and let me sell my jewelry there. Where do I start? I already have a website for my jewelry.
Answer: The best way to get started is to have your own home jewelry party and do a presentation persuading guests to become agents for your jewelry. It has to be worth their while so come up with a workable reward system. Think of hooking up with other home business owners to offer a variety of products at a home party such as clothing, soaps and candles.

Question: Ok How how about a home party plan that is very different from all the others? thanks? Thanks for all that have answered my home business question so far. I want a home party business that very few people know about, but it is real.
Answer: I found a great work at home company. I'm with Stayin Home and Lovin It! and they are partnered with a wellness company that is 21 years old and in good standing with the better business beaural. The products are all environmentally friendly and safer for you and your family. They have cleaning products, shampoo, soap, candles, toothpaste, acne solutions, make-up, health bars, and so much more. Most products are made of tea tree oil. They have a dis-infectant that is approved for schools and daycares that is so much safer than bleach and smells so good to me. You can do in home parties and I heard those that do do really make money at this. You could make a full income in no time if you really work at it. The best part is you bring people to the company then they can shop on line but you get a commission for everything they buy as long as they buy. No stocking any products or reselling. No risk. I think you will really find this company worth checking into. check out http://healthybetterme.com/
Feel free to contact me anytime for more information. There is so much to tell. And remember to look up every company you consider at search.bbb.org.
Question: Is there a way to deposit a check made out to my home party plan business into my personal...? ...checking account?
I work for a home party plan and need to deposit a check that was written directly to the company. Is there a bank or a way for me to deposit this check so that I can place the order they requested?
Answer: Most banks will not accept a check for deposit that is made out to a company and that you want to deposit into a personal account. You need to deposit it into a business account in that business name, and to set up the business account you will need to file Assumed Name papers, saying that you are that business.
Your best bet is to ask the person who wrote the check to write you another, made out to your personally. Or, if you have a relationship with this company as a sales person for their home part plan, they should have instructions for you as to how to handle this kind of situation, as I’m sure it comes up for others, too. I think most will have you send in the check with your order/payment, and make up the difference that is owed for other orders with your own check, if there are other orders. But the check is legally made out to that company, and it could be considered fraud for you to change the payee or to attempt to cash it when it’s not made out to you.
If you are the owner of the company, then you would have all the legal documentation of that company, and could possibly sign it over to yourself on the back. But it doesn’t sound like that is the case here at all, so it’s not a good idea for you to sign the company’s name on the back and endorse it to yourself.
This is done to protect companies from individuals stealing/finding a check made out to the company and just anyone being able to cash/deposit them. BUT, I know it can be done sometimes--some bank tellers are not good about noticing who the check is made out to.
Either get a new check, or send the check in with your order to the company and they will credit your account with it, I am sure.

Question: I am looking into a direct sale home party business. Any advice or comments? What company would i be most successful with (avon, partylite, mary kay, etc.) What do consumers think of products from companies such as these. I have a friend who sells partylite that is trying to take me under her wing. Would this be the best option. Could I do more then one. I dont want charity from my family and friends I want to carry good products that people really like and really want to buy.
Answer: I don't recommend any of those programs (pyramid schemes). It's like a hopeless pink-collar ghetto-- you don't make much money and all the women interested in the same sort of items to sell all drive down each other's income and are competing for a finite number of customers.
If you want to get into sales and have a talent for it, get a real sales job at a real company. For example, radio stations always need sale people to sell advertising slots. But all that home party selling stuff is for crap and it EXPLOITS women with low self-esteem who think they can only work from home.
Either get out there into the REAL business world or don't do it at all. I have a Mary Kay relative who spends more on going to conventions than she makes, and my mother was a Tupperware lady. It's just not worth it for the time you put in to it.
