i currently dont have a doctor....my doctor retired two months ago...i've been fine till now......they said they can't transfer me yet. and there is no on-call doctor that is able to take care of me
Answer: It sounds like it might be the flu, since you've got sore muscles and migraines and you're tired. It could also be a really bad cold... the symptoms you have are pretty non-specific--they're common to a lot of illnesses. If it's been going on for more than a couple days, go see a doctor, just to make sure it isn't something serious. Until then, get lots of rest and don't stress yourself, because it'll take longer to recover if you're not saving energy.
Question: What illness in a cat has blood around the nose? I trapped a cat last night because I am trying to get some help for the strays around here. He had blood on his nose. I didn't know if it was an illness or maybe just from trying to get out of the trap. Any thoughts?
These are strays I'm catching. Unfortunately, I can't take them to the vet. I'll be taking it to the ascap to get tested and neutered, then re-released. I was just wondering if it sounded like any type of illness.
Answer: Many trapped cats have blood on their noses - they are trying to get out of the trap, and actually rub their noses/faces raw. If it's not that, then it's probably a calici virus, as that can cause bloody lesions in the throat, mouth, and nose.
Question: What illness is dog parvo or distemper and how is it treated? People say parve is fatal to dogs how can I prevent my dog from catching it. What type of illness is it, what symptoms should I look out for.
Answer: You've never heard of VIRUSES?
Or the marvelous 200 yo invention,VACCINATIONS,that prevent them?
What cave have you been hiding in?
PREVENT,not "treat!
Parvo kills 50% w/treatment. Distemper is almost as bad.
VACCINATE
Question: What is the difference between a terminally illness and a chronic illness? I would like to know what is the difference between a chronic illness and a terminally illness because my wife has a chronic disease called diabetes.
Answer: Terminal means it will kill you. Chronic means it is life-threatening. I have diabetes, too, and it can be severe, but there is a treatment.
Cancer is sometimes a terminal illness.
I hope this helped. :)
Question: What mental illness or personality disorder might you classify a person that exhibits these traits? What kind of illness or personality disorder might a woman have if she has been divorced 3 times and.... she continually makes up bizarre stories about what she is currently doing with her life, some of which are based upon ideas that have some reflection upon reality and some that don't. In a nutshell, she sensationalizes and exagerates everything. Here is the kicker, at later points, if you ask her how one thing or another is going in her life about these events, she denies that they happened, or says that she didn't do or say the thing in question.
Answer: Borderline. But it is hard to tell, if she knows she is lying that is one thing, if she is dillusional and has a shallow grasp of reality that could be really serious and something totally different.
I'd say leave diagnosis to the professionals, seems like she needs help.
Question: how come illness occurs after becoming exposed to the virus or the victim may not show symptons for years? In many viral diseases, illness occurs shortly after becoming exposed to the virus. In other cases, a victim may not show symptoms for many years after being infected. Explain the difference in these situations.
Answer: When a virus infects a cell, it can enter either a lytic or a lysogenic cycle. When the virus in its lytic cycle will 'abuse' the cell to make new virus particles. The infected cell will eventually die and the new viral particles will be released, which can in turn infect nearby cells. When this happens the immune system of your body will respond and try to stop the infection by neutralizing the virus or killing infected cells. The infection of cells in your body and the response of your immune system are what cause the symptoms of a disease and make you feel sick.
On the other end, when a virus enters a lysogenic cycle upon infecting a cell, it does not produce new viral particles, but it integrates its genetic information into the genome op the cell. That way the virus stays dormant in the cell; it has no negative effect on the cell and its presence cannot be detected by your immune system, but its still there. A virus can stay in this dormant stage for many years, and every time the cell duplicates (and thus copies its genome), the virus is passed on to both daughter cells. Eventually the virus can exit the lysogenic cycle and enter its lytic cycle again. This switch can be triggered by many things, such as an infection with another virus or a deficiency of certain nutrients. The virus will again begin to replicate and infect other cells, which makes you sick. Since the virus had the chance to spread to all the daughter cells of the cells it originally infected, the consequences can be much worse that those of an acute infection.
Question: What mental illness has the highest percentage of feces smearers? What mental illness is someone most likely to be a feces smearer? Is it Autism or Skitsofrenia or something else?
Answer: Feminism
Question: What kind of illness can you get from swimming in a pool? My G/f, Brother, and sister in law all got sick from swimming in a pool at my condo. What kind of illness can you get from swimming?
Answer: Many. Out of the many we get every year is the one from fecal matter from water ingested while swimming. This happens if the clorine is not up to par to where it shoud be. If the "fluke" virus gets into our thymus gland, we can be in serious trouble. The fluke in found fecal matter.
Question: Why do people think a mental illness is a weakness? Alright first thing is first I have nothing against people who have long or short term mental illnesses.
There are many people out there who have something against people with mental illness, & I am wondering why is that I think its a lack of knowledge and people see people with mental illness as one and not by individual qualities & uniqueness.
Why do people think that a mental illness is a weakness and scared?
Do you think mental illnesses are a weakness or not and explain, & please be consecrate and think before you speak.
Answer: Well, I don't think mental illness is any more a sign of weakness than having diabetes or a cold. If we could control it, it really would not be an illness now would it? Anyone who thinks that it is a sign of weakness is simply not looking at the situation correctly.

Question: What is the name of the illness kitties can give to pregnant women? I am wondering if this illness is airborne or tactile. Also, what are the symptoms if you do get it.
Also, does it get more complicated for a woman to become pregnant if they have a cat? Or do women not become pregnant because of that illness? Or is it like chicken pox, once you get it, you can't get it anymore?
Answer: Toxoplasmosis.
"The caution pregnant women hear regarding contact with cat litter reflects concern over a disease called toxoplasmosis. More than 60 million people in the United States have been infected with the parasite that causes toxoplasmosis, but very few become ill. However, if you contract the infection for the first time while you are pregnant, it can reach your baby, possibly causing miscarriage, brain damage, or other serious illness.
One common source of the infection is cat feces, either in litter boxes or in soil contaminated by infected cats who wander outdoors....Cats pick up the infection from eating raw meat, typically from animals they catch outdoors. You can become infected when you ingest the parasite -- by eating undercooked meat or by putting your hands to your mouth after gardening or handling cat litter.
Cats can spread the parasite in their feces only for a few weeks after they are first infected, so if you have (or ever had) a cat that normally spends time outdoors, chances are that it was infected long ago -- and that you were, too. Your veterinarian is a good resource if you have questions about this infection in your cat.
If you are infected for the first time during pregnancy, you may have flu-like symptoms, including swollen lymph glands or muscle aches and pains that last for a few days to several weeks. However, most people who become infected with toxoplasmosis don't know it.
If you are pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant, ask your midwife or doctor to test your blood for evidence of past toxoplasmosis infection. The test should be done as early in pregnancy as possible (or, even better, before you conceive), to make it easier to distinguish past exposure from new infection. (Many providers do this test routinely during the first prenatal exam.)
If the test is positive, that means you have already had the infection, and there is no need to worry about passing a new infection to your baby. If the test is negative, you should take precautions to avoid becoming infected during pregnancy, as follows:
Wear gloves when you garden or work with soil. Wash your hands well with soap and water after outdoor activities, especially before you eat or prepare any food....
Eat only meat that has been thoroughly cooked -- that is, until it is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear. Don't sample meat before it is fully cooked.
If you have cats that normally live indoors, keep them there to avoid their becoming infected. Feed them dry or canned cat food.
Don't acquire a new cat or kitten or adopt a stray during your pregnancy.
If possible, ask another family member to change your cat's litter box. If you must do it, wear a dust mask and gloves, and wash your hands well afterwards. Also, scoop the litter every day; that may sound as though it's exposing you to more risk, but in fact, your risk is greater if you allow the feces to dry, when the infectious particles can become airborne."
Question: What was the mental illness that James Frey claimed to have? Either it was James Frey, or someone else, but I remember that there was someone who wrote a memoir but it wasn't true and he was diagnosed with some sort of mental illness, or he claimed to have it. What was it?
Answer: Addiction
Question: When did the symptoms of your mental illness start showing? When did the symptoms of your mental illness start showing?
Did they start showing suddenly? Was it after a breakdown? What age did they start showing?
Oh yeah, what is your mental illness?
Answer: Well, I have been depressed for quite awhile and I also suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
I was abused at the age of 12 or 13 and my symptoms of depression first began showing up at the age of 15, when I wa so depressed that I wanted to hurt myself. The symptoms of PTSD started at the age of 18, when I still hadn't talked about my history of abuse and it was still repressed. I remember hearing this one triggering song and I had terrible flashbacks. The symptoms of PTSD were quite sudden but the depression has been going on for years. This is the first year where I feel significantly less depressed because I have found the right therapist, the right meds and the right friends to give me their support.
Good luck to all of you
Question: What is an illness/disease that could keep someone from physical activity for 3 years? I need to know for a short story I'm writing for school...the character wants to be a dancer but has not been able to dance for 3 years because of some illness, but I want it to be realistic. Not a deadly illness just one that you wouldn't be able to dance, and an internal illness not an injury.
THANKS!
Answer: This may change your story line too much, but if the dancer is depressed over something in her life, that could have kept her from being a dancer. Often times those suffering from depression are practically incapable of physical activity and lose their ambition. It's a constant cycle - she is unable to dance because of her depression and her inability to dance is pushing her further into depression.
Question: History of mental illness associated with patient misdiagnosis? How often does this happen? I'm doing a research paper and would like to know how common this is.
If you have a history of some form or mental illness (depression, anxiety, OCD, ADD, etc) have you ever been discriminated against during a doctor's visit? For example: You complain of insomnia, random pain, etc and your doctor attributes your symptoms to your mental illness without doing any additional tests to determine if an unrelated illness is to blame.
Have you had any experience in this area? Do you have any info on this subject? Links would be wonderful!
Answer: Yes this has happend to me, i'm not sure if this what you need. But I have major depression, PTSD, anxiety, can't sleep. So I was raped in nov. ( I got looked at and everything) Will I went to my doctor and told her that i was having alot of pain down there. She told be that it was just a side effect from PTSD, my body reacting to it. So I belived her thinking it was all in my head. Will I went to Plan parenthood, to get a IUD. They have to make sure you are clean not infections before they palce it and they where checking me out and the frist thing she said me to me was oh hun, you have a major yest infection and a major baldder infection she said I have had it for awhile and if I would have waited any longer it would have go to my kidenys.
I hope this is kind of what you where looking for. I will try to think of others i know there is more. I'm sorry if this was not helpful.
Question: What kind of mental illness causes you to eat your hair? I met this girl over the weekend who eats her own hair. Not just like nibbling, but eats large chunks at a time. Apparently this is a mental illness, does anyone know what it is?
Answer: I believe it is called Pica. A friend of mine has it. She says it is caused by the amount of stress she is under and the fact that her mom used drugs while she was pregnant for my friend.
