Improve Memory
Question: improve memory? how to improve memory
Answer: Pay attention. You can’t remember something if you never learned it, and you can’t learn something — that is, encode it into your brain — if you don’t pay enough attention to it.
Tailor information acquisition to your learning style. Most people are visual learners; they learn best by reading or otherwise seeing what it is they have to know.
Involve as many senses as possible. Even if you’re a visual learner, read out loud what you want to remember.
Relate information to what you already know.
Organize information.
Understand and be able to interpret complex material.
Rehearse information frequently and “over-learn”. Review what you’ve learned the same day you learn it, and at intervals thereafter.
Be motivated and keep a positive attitude.

Question: What are some ways to improve memory and concentration? I am about to give a few important exams, and have a lot to read in just a few days. What can I do to improve my memory and concentration?
Answer: Remember to eat well, little and often is best with fruit and veg, fish and chicken. Berries are better for brain function and green veg try vitamin supplements like fish oils use a high dose if you're a veggie use flax seed instead and don't forget to hydrate yourself with water not tea/coffee/cola/red bull.
Try a few warm up exercises for your brain with puzzles that you enjoy at the start of the day, and put a time limit on the revision. Relaxing and sleeping is equally important so have a study chart for each day and try to stick with it....don't push your brain to remember things once it switches off or feels tired rest.
The brain can also take in informtion while sleeping so if some of the exams are based around a book play it them on cd during the night while you're sleeping, but don't skip reading the same info during the day the cds are just to inforce the knowledge.

Question: What is the best way to improve memory? I want to make the deans list this last year of college, how can I improve my memory and study skills.
Answer: I don't know very much about this topic except that mental exercise, physical exercise and diet are all essential in keeping the brain healthy for longer. I know that there are some foods that are known as brain foods such as dark-skinned fruits and vegetables, coldwater fish such as salmon and trout, nuts which contain vitamin E such as walnuts, socializing and protecting your head by wearing a helmet. You should also bake and grill instead of frying foods.

Question: What are some foods and supplements one can take to improve memory function? My mom is getting older and wants to improve her memory a bit. Thanks.
Answer: There are lots of vitamins and supplements on the market that can help with memory. The most basic would be a good Vitamin-B Complex, which is pretty cheap and you can find them anywhere. Also, if you're taking a multivitamin, they come with a full assortment of B Vitamins (if you are not already on a multivitamin, that would be a good place to start). Also, fish oils. These can be found in liquid or capsule form. I prefer the capsules as they are easier to take and do not smell. You can find them at health food stores.
Beyond that, you can look into specific individual ingredients like Ginkgo or Ginseng or Vinpocetine. These products can be found on their own at health food stores, or inside 'brain products' or 'mental supplements'. Below is a list of the most popular / best-reviewed products for memory, attention, and focus:

Question: What are some ways to improve memory? I would love to be able to remember more things and for a longer period of time. What are some exercises or some techniques that I can do to help improve my memory..? I am a freshman in high school
Answer: God can help you live a better life if you want Him to help you. You can have a personal relationship with God by saying the prayer below. God is our Creator, all-knowing, all-powerful, eternal, holy, love. God loves us and sent us His Son, Jesus Christ, so we can go to heaven if we know and follow Him. Forever means without end -- time on and on without death. Forever is what happens after we die. Either we go to heaven and be with God forever, or we go to hell which is very bad and painful forever. The good people who are saved believers in Jesus Christ go to heaven. The bad people go to hell. We need to know and follow God in this world to get to heaven in the next world. We follow God by loving and obeying Him and loving others for Him. Jesus Christ, God's Son, is our bridge to God. Jesus died on the cross to cancel our sins. We need to accept Jesus into our life as our Lord and Savior forever to receive God's blessing and forgiveness plus go to heaven to be with God forever after we die. This is about being a born-again Christian. Faith in God is a gift from God. You can pray for faith in God. Just speak out and ask God for the faith to believe in Him and to follow Him. Some people find faith in God when they realize the beauty in the world is made by God. Evolution can't explain the world's natural beauty, for example, the parks in the world, animals, flowers, peacocks, sunsets, butterflies, rainbows, etc. After you have your faith on, you can pray a sinner's prayer to be a born-again Christian. This prayer is very important and should be said with a sincere heart and faith in God. This is the prayer: "Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that Jesus Christ is the sacrifice for our sins. I have done the following sins (state these out) and I pray to discontinue these sins. I pray to receive Jesus Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior forever. In Jesus' name, amen." I'm Lutheran and I like the Baptist churches too. Maybe you could find a Christian friend who could take you to church with them. You can pray to God about your daily life and have a Christian church pray for you.
Question: Would you rather like to improve your memory or would you like to forget and why? New studies have shown you can improve memory by exercising more. would you like to improve your memory or would you rather forget? And why?
Answer: Better memories!! i'm always forgetting things, things that i vowed to myself that i'd remember forever. it's just so frustrating to not be able to remember stuff. improving my memory would mean i'd able to cherish every last bit of my life (even though it does sound kind of cheesy)!! :D
Question: What is best to improve memory and keep looking younger at 40's and above? When a person is in the late 40's and if he/she has been taking good care of oneself, he/she may look just like about in late 20's but once he/she reaches late 50's the difference will show that he/she is getting old either through his/her memory or by his/her looks. If there are ways to improve both the memory and looks, the person could even look younger even at 60's, looking just at 30's. How to do this? What exercise, medication, habits, sleep, relaxation, work, etc.
Answer: The best way to improve your memory is to use it. Your brain is a muscle, and it needs exercise just like the rest of you. Read books that challenge you, not light reading but history, science, politics, literature. Try to learn a new language, watch documentaries, do the daily crossword. Keeping a journal or a blog is probably a good idea, writing down what happens to you will help you remember. Just remember, the same rules for the body apply to the mind: If you don't use it, you lose it.

I'm 17 years old, i don't really do that well in school, in fact i always study on the last 5 mins be4 exam. I quit gaming etc and realized that i have to do well to get into university and get a good job and not waste my life, i'm not stupid or dum cuz i can get good grades easily but i just lack the enthusiasm and concentration in studying. I don't really like studying and i get bored easily and even when i try to concentrate i think of something else randomly everytime, i can't sit down properly for 2 hours of study, i've tried playing sports and some entertainment be4 i study but they don't help. As for trying to get interest in reading, well i tried that and this is what i'm facing, i lose concentration easily.
I'm not the sort of person that's able to follow a plan or goal, i set them in my mind but i'm too lazy to actually follow it........in other words, i wanna do something but isn't strong willed and determined, even though my mind wishes to be but i just can't follow my goals etc.

Question: What is a good way to improve memory? I am a people person and attent a lot of chamber of commerce get togethers. The one problem I have is remembering peoples names. Not just in work situations, but is social events with friends, its tough for me to remember what we were talking about just a couple hours ago. Is there an effective way to improve someones memory, not just so I can remember names, but so I can remember stories, books I read, funny quotes from movies, etc...
Answer: To more easily memorize names, write them down if you can, or collect business cards at formal events. Use the person's name a few times during your first conversation. "It's nice to meet you, Bob. Do you live in the area, Bob? Bob, maybe you can answer a question for me" Okay, not all in a row like that. Then a few minutes after the conversation, look around the room and recall the names of the people you've met. Do the same thing before you leave, then again when you get home.
As far as remembering stories is concerned, try to remember the story as a series of images or events in your mind. It should be easier to do that than to memorize the words.
