Irritability
Question: Irritability? Idk what's wrong with me lately, but i've been so irritable. It's like I'm PMSing majorly, except i can't be cuz my period ended a week ago. But today i hated a ton of people and i felt like screaming and kicking everyone's @ss and crying all at the same time, and i had absolutely no reason.
More importantly, i keep doubting that my friends really like me. I keep thinking for some reason that I'm just a tag-along, and this is totally irrational because i know they haven't given me real reason to think this, but i keep coming up with my own reasons, and it's driving me crazy. I'm losing a friend because of it, and the worst part is, i can't tell if it's all in my head or real.
What is wrong with me???
Answer: I don't know as though there is anything wrong with you.
I get like that from time to time for no reason and I am a man so no period to blame it on, no pms.
I just think it is a cycle.
Best of luck to you though and I hope you get over it (:
Question: How long does irritability last after someone quits marijuana? My boyfriend quit smoking pot about two months ago. Ever since then we've been fighting all the time. Everything I do sets him off and irritates him, all of the things about me that he used to find cute. I know he loves me because when he's not irritable, he acts just like he always did before he quit. Will the mood swings and irritability stop?
Answer: Marijuana does not cause physical dependency like other drugs, so technically you can not be addicted to it. You can however develop a mental dependency on it. Hard to say when or if his irritability will go away.
Question: How can I manage irritability after quitting cigarettes? It's been nearly 7 weeks since I gave up smoking and while the physical cravings have gone, I'm finding it hard at times dealing with difficult people or situations at work.
If something goes wrong I tend to get very grumpy about it and am worried that will affect my chances of promotion or another job in same workplace.
What are some tips on dealing with annoyances and irritability in the workplace?
Answer: Talk to your doctor. Your irritability could be from your body withdrawing from the nicotine. He should be able to prescribe something to help you through this stage. Good luck.
Question: What are some good herbal supplements or treatments for irritability, anger and anxiety? I'm looking for a natural kind of sedative so I am not as irritable and short tempered about little things that people do that annoy me. I dont want something that's gonna put me to sleep but is actually going to treat the cause - not sure what that is but.
Just hoping someone has tried something for irritability and anger and it's worked.
Thanks very much.
Answer: Follow these suggestions
1 read the book 7 weeks to emotional healing and follow the suggestions for anger, anxiety etc. Take the tests as well.
They have the nutritional, behavioral and medical treatments for several categories including anger and anxiety and more.
2 Also read change your brain, change your life..it had a lot of practical suggestions and nutritional ones as well
3 Also take at least 3000-5000 mg of fish oil.
A book I read said that this changes one's brain and has been verified by pet scans for a wide variety of mental illnesses and emotions including schizophrenia, bipolar, depression, anxiety, add, dyslexia, agoraphobia etc..
In addition to the fish oil caps, also up your intake of omega three fats in food as we have many times too much omega six fatty acids when they should be in balance..this imbalance causes too many neurotransmitters to build up in the synaptic gap of the brain due to hardening of the neurotransmitter receptor sites, and this causes chemical imblances which affect our brain and our emotions.
Omega three fats are found in cold water fatty fish both fresh and canned such as salmon (do not use farm raised only wild caught), mackerel, herring and sardines...these have several times more omega three fats than tuna but nearly all seafoods have some. Land sources are hard to come by and include flax seeds, flax seed oil, purslane and raw walnuts.
4 check earl mindells vitamin bible for the amino acids that help these problems or take a comprehensive protein shake supplement to be sure you are getting all the amino acids you needs as these can and do affect emotions.
5 finally, check out back flower essences..these have very specific uses for a wide variety of personality types and emotions and are said to change the vibrational frequency and eventually as issue from the past come to mind help a person completely chance long standing habits.
Get a good book to explain which essences help which personality traits and problems...they can be very specific and several will likely fit you..pick a few of the ones that resonate most that you want to change and work on those first..then as they resolve, tackle a few more.
6 as far as herbs ofhelp, for anxiety a good herbal is organic kava kava in tincture form not capsules. Another to be taken at bedtime is organic valerian tincture. also try rescue remedy for stress and crisis moments.
7 Also take melatonin and sniff lavender essential oil at bedtime and smell the lavender essential oil whenever you feel stressed.. The melatonin and lavender will give you deeper level of sleep and this may help your disposition. Take about 3-5 mg of melatonin 1/2 hour before you want to sleep.
For a long term solution of this and nearly every health problem, people who go to vegan diets tend to find they are more peaceful and happy I heard..people who have been raw food faddists I have heard can experience a complete change of personality and disposition for the better.
Question: What else can I take with Lithium to control my lows , anger , irritability? I am on 750mg lithium per day.. Should my dose go up or should I try something else with the Lithium. My lows, depression, irritability and irrational rapid thoughts still exist.
Answer: I too am on Lithium 1500 mg a day at first they started me on a low dose.Sorry I don't remember. But eventually my doc had to increase the dose because I was still having the same issues. Talk to your doctor and let him/her know that you're still having these issues. It will get better. Also is your doctor having you get Kidney test every few months? Because lithium is filtered through the kidneys.Don't be afraid its just something they check or are supposed too. My doctor tried me on many different drugs with the lithium but I could not take them. Well, one was Abilify which was working great but I had the leg jumping thing, couldn't sit still. So he took me off it. But that was a great one.Geodon I could not take either as I had the same reaction. However, talk to your doctor and let him/her know. Good luck hun!
Question: Does too much salt cause irritability and moodiness? I struggle with extreme irritability when I just want a peaceful life. I have taken a lot of steps to deal with the issue but haven't been able to fix it completely. I realized I eat way too much sodium and wondered if that was contributing to my problem. I have dramatically reduced my salt intake in recent months and my moodiness doesn't seem so bad lately, but it's still hard to tell if there's a connection. Does anybody know anything about this? Thanks.

Question: What is the best medication for irritability? i went to my doctor today and he suggested paxil but is open to any similar medication.he said he does not want to put me on a mood stabilizer like abilify because of the other medications i take.my big problem is my irritability and anger issues,i need to know what meds have been successful for these symptoms.i would appreciate what medications you are currently taking and if it has helped.he does not want me on mood stabilizers because of its drug interaction with other medication
Answer: Newportt, You have a complicated history and have been on a number of medications along with a variety of side effects with most of them. The doctor doesn't want you to get into that circle of medications, interactions and more side effects. So he is giving you one of the older but most effective medications for irritability/anxiety with the fewest side effects. Many folks think that the newer meds are the best ones to use because they are the most updated. In fact, they may have more side effectts and interactions as time goes by, since they're untested out in time with newer medications. So until the newer meds are tested in time many doctors prefer to have the side effects and interactions happen to other doctors patients and be conceConservativeheir use.
You might also check with a psychiatrist for use of particular medications. They often have a better overall use with a variety of these medications as these are the only medications they tend to use and they are most familiar with them.
