Lo Carb BRead
By : Atomhockeymomm...I got this from Barbo's site
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1/2 cup water -- warmed
1/2 cup cream
1 tablespoon oil
1 large egg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup soy flour
1 cup oat flour
2 teaspoons yeast
1 teaspoon sugar (to feed the yeast)
To your bread machine add the ingredients in the order given above.
Use the dough setting and take out and bake in a normal bread pan. 30 minutes at 375 degrees
The reason I do it this way, is because I have an old bread machine and I can't get the finished product out of the pan!
60 carbs and 196 protein per loaf. I got 15 slices, so it was 4 per slice.

Question: Can you please share your favorite low carb recipe? I need to start a low carb diet after gaining some weight from a medication I need to take. I was told to cook low carb dishes.
I know what basic foods to avoid, but need some tasty recipes.
Thanks for sharing!!
Answer: Low-carb diets are a bad idea. You should eat healthy, cut out refined grains and artificial ingredients whenever possible, cut your calories, etc. But you want to maintain balance. Carbohydrates are very important, especially from whole grains. Eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full, and make smart eating choices. That's the key. Balance each meal with a lean protein, a whole grain, and a couple servings of fruits and/or veggies. For breakfast, for example, you can make an veggie egg white omelet with whole wheat toast or half a whole wheat bagel; at lunch, a topless sandwich with a leaf lettuce cap (i.e.: instead of two slices of bread, use one slice on the bottom and place a leaf of lettuce on top to hold everything in); for dinner, a sirloin-and-veggie stir-fry on a bed of brown rice. Always use olive oil when cooking, and never use more than 1 1/2 tsp. It adds a little bit of healthy fat you your meal, which is important, and it adds a lot of flavor. When you want a snack, snack on fruits: apples, grapes, bananas, pears, and peaches are my favorites.
Question: Do you have a delicious low carb recipe? I am diabetic and am getting bored with the usual. Do you have a recipe that will mix it up a bit?
I don't care for bell peppers, beets, eggplant or oysters.
Answer: I don't know what kind of recipe you're looking for. (side dish, main dish, etc)
But, I got this idea for meatloaf from a friend of mine. It's really easy, too. It's just 1 pound of hamburger meat, 1 package of Liptons recipe secrets onion soup mix, 2 eggs and this is the low-carb part... instead of crackers or bread crumbs, you use crushed up pork rinds! It's really delicious and low carb. You can also add any of the other stuff people put into meatloaf like onions and peppers, I just don't really care for all that stuff.
A really good salad recipe is also a brocolli and cauliflower salad. Take equal parts of brocolli and calliflower florets, add about 1 cup of cubed cheddar cheese, 1 cup of crumbled up bacon. The dressing is about 1 cup of mayonaise or miracle whip, 2 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and 1/4 cup of Splenda. Or to taste. Poor the dressing over the brocolli and cauliflower mixter and let the flavors marry. I love this salad and it's a great change from regular salads.
Question: Does anyone have a low carb recipe I can make for dinner tomorrow? We had chicken Monday, lean hamburger tonight with cabbage, and I have no idea what to have tomorrow night and need ideas and recipes.
Answer: Grill up a steak and serve it with a side of green beans and/or a salad. Yumm!
Question: Does anyone have a low-carb recipe for fried green tomatoes?
Answer: I don't know what the carb count would be from the tomatoes, but if you dipped them in grated parmesean cheese instead of bread crumbs and then fried them, you wouldn't get the carbs from the coating.
Question: What's your favorite low carb soup recipe? I'm looking for ideas for low carb soups. Anyone have a good recipe to share or a good link?
Answer: I don't know of any soups that are low carb.
We make a thick bean soup in the crockpot that is mostly beans, mushed beans, spices and water. Beans are fiber and protein.
Hope that helps.'
Question: Anyone got a low fat, low carb, curry recipe I'd be able to make? I'm on a low-fat, low-carb (good-carb) diet. I love curry...all sorts...... Anyone got a curry recipe that would fit the requirements of my diet?
Answer: I found this website for low fat curry recipes. I think the biggest thing with making a low fat curry recipe is, using light coconut milk rather than full fat, or even evaporated milk with coconut essence, and using lean meat.
Question: does anyone have a low fat, low carb, recipe fopr chicken breast using 5 ingredients or less? it should taste good and feed five.
Answer: baked chicken marinated in lemon juice, fresh herbs, black pepper, onion and garlic.
Question: Does anyone have a good recipe for low-carb whole wheat bread? I really want to find a low carb whole wheat recipe that DOES NOT use a bread machine.
Answer: no. why would anyone make bread without a machine?

Cover tightly with aluminum foil, place on center rack of the oven, and bake for about 2 hours or until meat is almost falling off the bone. Jim's Famous Hamburger Recipe
Print Options
Print (no photos)
Print (with photos)
Ingredients
1 lb hamburger meat
2 heaping tablespoons of chopped fresh rosemary leaves (not the stem)
2 Tbsp A1 sauce
Salt and pepper to taste (perhaps half a teaspoon of each).
Buns
Lettuce
Tomatoes, sliced
Onions, sliced
Avocado, peeled, pitted and sliced
Mayonaise, ketchup, mustard
Method
Mix the rosemary and A1 sauce into the hamburger meat, distributing evenly. Add salt and fresh ground pepper. Form out the hamburger patties. If the meat is low-fat, you may want to add some grapeseed oil or olive oil to the mixture, or after the patties are made (but before cooked), rub some oil over them. Place on a hot grill or grill pan. If you are indoors with a grill pan, be sure to use your stove fan. If on grill pan, lower the heat to medium high. Grill on one side until you can see the juice begin to run at the surface. Flip over and grill on the other side, again until you can see some juice coming through. If you wish, grill the buns on remaining grill surface. Onions can be either served fresh with the hamburger or sautéed a little in olive oil.
Serve burgers with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, avocado, mayo, ketchup, and or mustard. (For the low-carb version skip the bun.)
Serves 3 to 4.
