Answer: i forgot the question i was answering HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Question: memory loss? I was wondering what can i do for short term memory loss? I am only 28 years old no drugs. help
Answer: hello, generally speaking, short term memory loss, in someone as young as you, who has not abused drugs or alcohol, is due to having too much on the mind at once... as in overload. this will affect memory. if this sounds like you, you will need to retrain your thinking process, by narrowing it down to the "here and now", with no projection into tomorrow or anywhere into the future. and not letting these thoughts in, until that time has come. this is very common in our young people today, in our rat race world. i hope this helped! :)
Question: What causes memory loss and lack of focus? I am 16 years old and have been experiencing memory loss. I can remeber anything I need to remember. Also I have trouble focussing. I could be paying attention to something and the next moment I'll realize that I've been zoned out for minutes. Can someone tell me what can cause this?
Answer: Could be a large number of causes, from simple fatigue to a serious disease, gos ee your doctor, he will most likeley order a Catscan and unravel the mistery.
Question: How to know the difference between normal memory loss and severe memory loss? My mom is almost 59. She's quite forgetful but it doesn't really interfere with her everyday life, as far as I know. She is happily married, volunteers, has friends, cleans the house, shops, and cooks. She's on antidepressants because of chronic depression. Occasionally she takes anti anxiety meds, but not too often anymore.
How do I know if she has a memory problem or just normal "getting older"/on antidepressants memory loss?
Answer: It may be something to do with the anti anxiety drugs that she's taking. I've learned that the side effects from those drugs includes impaired thinking and judgment, memory loss, and forgetfulness. There's a whole bunch of it.
Check the source below. That's where I found it.
Question: What could cause memory loss for someone in their twenties? I'm 22-years-old and I have a terrible memory for names and numbers. I honestly think it's worse than other people's memories. Sometimes I think I'm missing quite a bit because of memory loss, but I don't know what I'm missing because I can't remember. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Answer: it could be that you have like adult adhd or add where to think of a lot of things and cant remember
Question: Can extreme stress and depression cause permanent memory loss? For example, I cannot recall much of anything about my life prior to joining the Army, which was only 4 years ago. I can only remember a handful of small events at most, and remember nobody (even apparently a girl I had dated?) that I knew before if they are not currently in my life. I know extreme stress can cause temporary loss of memory and such, but is it even medically possible to have been stressed to the point of permanent memory loss? Or is there other factors that I'm not seeing that could contribute to it?
Answer: It can also be with your diet. Why not do some brain exercises (like brain games and such) and also eat food that's good for the brain. Or maybe if you had a traumatic brain injury during the time you served in the Army, it can attribute for memory loss.
Question: What kind of short term memory loss is associated with marijuana? I have heard alot that short term memory loss is definitely a side effect of weed. But I was just curious is it only when you are smoking and high or is just days after you do it or what? I was just curious how that actually worked like if i could study and get everything done..smoke and go to sleep then wake up and study more and take a test..am i going to forget alot of it or as long as i dont smoke and go to class i am good?
Answer: The vast majority of my friends who smoke weed only forget some things while they're REALLY high... normally it just calms you down and makes you more easygoing. I've heard from some people they can actually focus better when they smoke.
I've never done it to try and be productive, but I can tell you from my personal experience it was only when I smoked a lot that I couldn't remember random bits. The parts I couldn't remember though were little gaps, maybe a few minutes at the most.
Question: What is the difference between short term memory loss and regular forgetfullness? What is the difference between short term memory loss and regular forgetfullness?
Answer: SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS , PEOPLE WITHOUT ALZHEIMERS ARE AWARE OF IT ..IT COMES FROM MENTAL ILLNESSES BUT FORGETNESS IS WHEN YOU DONT EVEN REALIZE YOU DO SOMETHING , NOW THAT COULD BE ALZHEMIERS !
Question: How do I live with short term memory loss? I am currently taking a medication called Namenda. I am dealing with Short term memory loss also known as dementia. I am having a hard time keeping a job. What can I do to continue raising my children and live a normal life?
Answer: I have worked with several women with memory loss. The best way we have found out to deal with this is keep a small (pocket size) notebook with you at ALL times. Write everything down that you may need later.Numbers, names, instructions, addresses, you get the idea. Then look back on that date to see what you need. Keep post-it notes every where. and play that with time it may improve.I'm in recovery from drugs and did a lot of damage, plus I also had a severe head accident from a motorcycle accident. I'm a counselor/probation officer and for the most part keep things in order fairly well. I seem to have the most issues with numbers, but learn to adjust.
Also depending on the age of your children ask for their help-all kids love to feel helpful. In terms that they can understand, briefly explain the issue and that you need their help to recall things-kids love to help. If I can be of further help please e-mail me. GOD SPEED Reggie
Question: Can spinal stenosis cause short term memory loss? I have lumbar and cervicle stenosis. For a couple of years, I've had issues with short term memory. Can stenosis cause short term memory loss or do I need to look elsewhere for the cause?
Answer: Yes. Cervical impairment of nerves can directly cause short term memory loss AND recall difficulties. Also, with cervical stenosis there is commonly an habituated chronic stress reaction, a "nervousness", that causes a challenge, a challenge to learning and retaining information. And, pain alone can cause a cascade of reactions that hinders memory and recall.
Question: Is it possible to have short term memory loss this severe? Is it possible to have short term memory loss that makes it so you get through the day, then the next morning you forgot EVERYTHING that happend the day before? Like you meet someone new 1 day, you go to sleep, you wake up and they person says "good morning" and you say who are you. Is that possible? if so can you tell me some way to get short term memory loss like that? Is there a drug that causes short term memory loss like that?
Answer: that can be caused by toxic mold exposure. do you have any old water leaks in your home?
Question: Describe the pattern of memory loss that would be expected in the amnesic syndrome? In a case of amnesia, not all memory is impaired to the same extent. Describe the pattern of memory loss that would be expected in the amnesic syndrome and the way in which the different types of memory could be tested.
Answer: The terms are used to categorize patterns of symptoms, rather than to indicate a particular cause or etiology. Both categories of amnesia can occur together in the same patient, and commonly result from drug effects or damage to the brain regions most closely associated with episodic/declarative memory: the medial temporal lobes and especially the hippocampus.

Question: Why is my grandmother experiencing severe short term memory loss when a stroke was ruled out? After being in hospital due to a reaction to a diuretic(hyponatremia and hypokalemia), which was resolved and grandma was back to prior level(lived completely independent,no signs of dementia), two days later she displayed severe short term memory loss. Perseverates on same 4-5 questions, will ask the same question or make the same statement every 1-2 minutes. An MRI ruled out a stroke, any other explanations? She is on very little medications.
Answer: You should probably mention this to the doctor. Just make sure that those original problems were actually resolved. The hyponatremia could have caused some neurological symptoms and I'm not sure that they all resolve immediately. Maybe it will take time. But she should be watched carefully.
Question: Can you lose the ability to speak in an accident? How do you get memory loss? Is it possible for someone to lose the ability to speak even if they are in a car accident? Like hitting their head or something like that? It happened to my friend and I forgot what all happened. (Now she can't speak anymore and she also has a little memory loss that should wear off soon.)
She also had memory loss...Where in the back of the head do you have to be hit to cause memory loss? I am kind of interested in this...Like how hard to you have to be hit in the back of the head and where in the back of the head?
Answer: Traumatic Brain Injury or TBI can cause a multitude of damage. Primary and secondary brain damages. TBI causes, in some cases, dysfunctional speech capacity to a total loss of speech and other communication difficulties. A hit on any part of the skull could create huge damage. Now, in terms of memory, the hippocampus ('memory control centre') is located in the medial temporal lobe of the brain and you would not need to be hit directly on this part of your skull to loose memory. The shock wave from the impact could suffice to damage any part of your brain.
Question: Is there a chemical that causes memory loss? I just wanted to know if there is a chemical that, when taken (ingested, inhaled, etc) causes memory loss. Not a full memory wipe, mind you, just a full memory loss for about, lets say, the past 5 minutes.
Woah, not trying to use it, just curious about the subject.
I'd like to know, if there are many, as many of them as possible.
Answer: Benzodiazepines are a type of hypnotic psychoactive drugs that doctors sometimes give to patients before a surgery where the patient will not have full anesthesia and the pain could be traumatic. This will produce amnesia on the patient so that he does not remember any of the unpleasantness of the surgery. However, they will only make you forget things that happen after you take the drug, not before.
Drugs normally cause anterograde amnesia (you can't remember things that happen after taking the drug). Retrograde amnesia (forgetting past things) has been induced on rats by some drugs (you can't test these drugs on humans), but can also be an adverse effect of date-rape drugs (like Rohypnol).
Here is a list of drugs that cause anterograde amnesia: http://www.askdocweb.com/memoryloss.html
Question: Is aspartame really linked with memory loss and depression? My mother told me that aspartame has been shown to cause short term memory loss and depression. Have you heard anything about this? Is there any truth to it?
Answer: I have heard that aspartame causes some health problems yes. Some people are also highly allergic to it. It's like any food additive really, you're generally better off without it. However, in my case, i am pre diabetic, and using sweetener and having coke zero instead of sugar and full strength coke means i can still get my sweet hit, but i don't make myself sicker.
