Question: What minerals are commonly found in drinking water? Not just mineral water, but drinking water in general. Specifically, what minerals are in average drinking fountain water? I know of magnesium and chloride, but there's more.
Answer: Water in its most basic form is simply a molecule made of two hydrogen atoms and an oxygen atom. But water's astounding journey through the hydrologic cycle adds different substances, particularly mineral content, as dissolved solids. Don't worry. This is a good thing! The mineral content in water consists of things our bodies need to be healthy. And minerals add taste to our drinking water. Some minerals found commonly in drinking water are Calcium, Potassium, Fluoride, and Magnesium amongst others.

Question: What is the difference between RAW minerals and BARE minerals? and which do you recommend? I am 15 years old and I would like to use either one of those makeup mineral powders to hide discoloration... If you can, please include a detailed description and the difference between RAW minerals and BARE minerals. Which do you recommend and why? Also, are they harmful to your skin in any way?
Answer: Bare Minerals .. ALL THE WAY!!!!
Question: What edible minerals are found in a limestone rock? My son has to do a project for school where he has to Investigate the minerals found in Limestone, determine the edible parts, and create an edible limestone rock. What edible minerals are in limestone?
Answer: Please understand that LIMEstone has nothing to do with lime the fruit. Minerals that are present in rocks are naturally occurring inorganic chemicals which may or may not be ingested into our bodies with harmful or with beneficial side effects.
Limestone is composed almost entirely of the mineral calcite which, chemically is Calcium carbonate.
If one ate SMALL amounts of powdered calcium carbonate it would probably produce a lot of gas as it reacted with the fluids in the stomach but would leave a person otherwise unharmed.
In CERTAIN parts of the world, limestone is associated with barytes (barium sulphate), fluorspar (calcium fluoride), brucite (magnesium oxide) or periclase (magnesium hydroxide). Calcium fluoride, in small quantities is added to toothpaste and magnesium oxide may be used to manufacture Milk of Magnesia.
Question: What are the different Minerals from Planet to planet? I'm just wondering what Minerals dominate each planet of the solar system. Does earth have every Mineral and the others have some but not all and what mineral my we not have that are on other Planet and moons?
Answer: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=solar+system+planet+minerals&ygmasrchbtn=web+search&fr=ush-ans
Question: How is that minerals are found in veins of ore? Considering how the Earth was supposedly formed from scattered elements after the Big Bang, how is it that many minerals are congregated in localized deposits and not spread uniformly throughout the substance of the planet? How did valuable elemental minerals like gold, iron or copper come to be localized in just a few continuous veins in certain regions instead of found everywhere?
Is this an argument for at least limited Divine planning?
Yes, but gold, for instance, is basically inert, it's non-magnetic and doesn't react with anything. Why is it found only in certain places and not everywhere? What forces caused the sub-atomic building blocks to form gold and why only in certain areas?
Answer: WAY oversimplified!~
Suppose tha the earth did indeed start out at some point after the big bang as an amorphous homogeneous blob. The fact that it was spinning and cooling introduce a host of physical factors that would introduce inhomogeneity. For example, the crust is in the solid state. Differential temperatures, rates of cooling, pressures would drastically alter the rates and positions of crystallization and deposition of various minerals, according to mass, density, crystal structure, local chemistry. Further, secondary effects such as erosion and sedimentation could differentially deposit minerals according to physical characteristics, even if the starting mineral material were homogeneous.
Question: How do I clean minerals out of an iron? I put regular tap water in my iron and now there's crusty minerals coming out of the holes. I'm using distilled water now, but I'm wondering is there any way to put anything in the water to get rid of the minerals??
Answer: try using distilled vinegar, just like you would to clean your shower head. however dont use the vinegar in a plugged in or iron thats on. just soak it then use a soft steel wool on the outside to remove any left over scaling. another solution is descaling solution used for humidifiers. always use on a cold and unplugged appliance.
Question: What is the difference between Bare Minerals foundations and Pur Minerals? Is one better than the other? Does the finish look any different (like does one come out shinier or more glowing)? Is bare minerals better than pur minerals if your skin has dry tendencies? Please help, need all the info I can get! Thanks!
Answer: The slogan for Pur Minerals is 'skip the mess, go pressed'. It's mineral makeup, but it's all pressed. And, considering that they use oil and fillers to press makeup, odds are that the Bare Minerals is better for your skin.
I've got sensitive dry skin, and I use Bare Minerals (I want to be an artist for them one day...lol), and I get an even, natural, coverage. And I've got rosacea - so "even" and "natural" are two things I don't often get from makeup!
Question: How do I add minerals to puirified water? I drink reverse osmosis water that can be purchased from the grocery store machine. I hear that it lacks essential minerals. Is there any way I can add the minerals that is remnoved by the distilling process?
Answer: You are talking about several different things here. Reverse osmosis is NOT distilling water. Purification systems leave beneficial minerals in the water anyhow. Distillery removes every last thing that is not water. Reverse osmosis is a purification process and should leave beneficial minerals behind but the Aquafina web site will lead you to believe otherwise though.
However, as long as you eat decent and supplement your diet like you should be doing anyhow then there simply is no reason to be concerned about putting minerals back into the water. Water should not be a expected source for our minerals anyhow as they should come from our diet and supplements. Just that since they are there the makers of puriciation systems try to leave them there.
Question: How are minerals broken down in the body? These are dietary minerals, not the minerals you find in the dirt. These are also minerals found foods, not the ones found in supplements.
Answer: Minerals are not broken down in the body. Magnesium stays as magnesium in the body. The same with calcium and iron...sometimes taking on different charges. Minerals are important parts of enzymes and cofactors which are required to live.
Question: What vitamins and minerals can promote blood to circulation much quicker? I am constantly wondering what does it take for a person's blood to flood much faster, such as by consuming the following: vitamins, minerals, stretching, or exercising. In addition, how can a person purify their heart vessels from accumulation of plaque?
Answer: You need an adequate supply of magnesium (which helps your metabolism and circulation, ginseng (circulation) and chamomile tea (helps repair capillaries so it improves blood flow.
Question: What kind of minerals are available on martian soil? What kind of minerals are available on martian soil? In addition, would it be possible to grow plant or microbial life on Mars in the open environment, in order to "terraform" the planet?
Well, it appears no one has provided any adequate answers for the question. All the answers provided are random or very remotely related to the topic.
Answer: Im guessing that those rovers collected some sort of data on the soil. Maybe check the Nasa site and see what they found in it.
Question: What vitamins and minerals and stuff like that is nessecary during pregnancy? I am a few weeks pregnant Im gonna go to my doctor very soon but I want to start buying all this vitamins and minerals just for incase. Ive got calcium and folic acid what do I still need?
Answer: Just take your basic prenatal and you are good... but you should know, your baby won't go without. During pregnancy the baby takes from the mother, not from the food or vitamins eaten/taken. So say you didn't get enough calcium, your baby will take it from your bones and YOU will be lacking, not the baby.
Question: What vitamins and minerals need to be increased during pregnancy? What vitamins and minerals would pregnant women need to increase their intake of while they're pregnant? This is a question for my nutritional chemistry class and I can't find a good answer on line or in my book. Any help would be appreciated.
Answer: There are some ingredients that are now considered standard in prenatal vitamins such as a greater amount of folic acid (folate), iron and calcium. This is a quote from the third reference below. I hope that this helps.
