Multivitamin
Question: Multivitamin? I am 24 M, and I am beginning to learn that vitamins are good for your body and help you prevent diseases. Since I know that I don't get all the vitamins I need everyday, well, at least not the full 100%, is it ok for me start taking a multivitamin everday, like the Once a Day Vitamin for Men? I am healthy, don't take any medicines, and am not allergic to anything
Is it ok to take a multivitamin eventhough I eat 3 meals a day?
What is a good multivitamin to take? I know you have Centrum and Once a Day.................
Answer: I'm actually a nutrition consultant at GNC, and to answer your question, yes. As long as a multivitamin is a water soluable one (time released) and not synthetic (like your one a day) you're fine to take one. If you take a one-a-day like, well, Men's one a day or Centrim, or the generic ones you get at Wal-Mart it will be processed out through your urine next time you use the bathroom. It doesnt need to be a GNC one, even thougho ours are the best (not that I'm swayed or anything), just make sure they are time released.
Question: Does a multivitamin have the same benefits as a super healthy diet? Just curious. Who's better off? The people who follow rigid super healthy diets with 100 servings of fruits and veggies and this and that every day with no multivitamin? Or the average joe who eats decent meals (fast food sometimes) and takes a multivitamin?
Does the multivitamin provide the same benefits as healthy food?
Answer: Depends on a lot of things, but as a whole the person who eats right should be better off ... it stands to reason that a person that eats healthy will be better off than a person that eats junk food and a vitamin. However, there will always be some few stray vitamins or minerals that the person might be deficient because they are lacking from the diet.
Take the best approach and do both, get a good quality multivitamin (there are a lot of major brands reviewed over at http://www.nutritionaltree.com) and eat right.
Question: What is the best multivitamin for a young woman trying to lose weight? There are alot of multivitamins out there and some are pretty expensive. What do I really need? I am trying to exercise and eat right. I was told that a great multivitamin can also be a great part of the plan to lose weight and get fit. Is there a place inline where I can get multivitamins cheaper?
Answer: Just take like a Centrum one a day vitamin. Anything that has 100% of Vitamins on the back, especially Iron and calcium since you are female. Try to eat your daily servings of veggies and fruits to make sure you get all of your daily nutrients.
Question: What kind of multivitamin is good for a toddler? She is 2 years old. She eats well and have a good appetite. Does she really need to take a multivitamin?
sorry, has a good appetite.
Answer: I like Flintstones vitamins. The only drawback is that for a young toddler (my boys are 3 and 2) they take only half, and the vits aren't scored, so you have to break them down the middle as evenly as possible.
Other good ones are the Cars gummi vitamins. They're nice and soft (like fruit snacks). I've tried the Flintstones gummis, and they're too chewy. My kids could barely chew them!
If she has a good appetite and eats a balanced meal, I don't really know of any good reason to give her a vitamin. It certainly wouldn't hurt, but it would be wasting money if she's a good eater!
Question: How can you tell if a multivitamin is working? Every health expert tells you to take a multivitamin every day. And there are dozens on the market. I've taken everything from cheapie supermarket brands to expensive "exclusive formulas." I've never physically experienced differences from brand to brand, except for the color of my urine. So how can you tell if the multivitamin you are taking is doing what it's supposed to?
Answer: It must be natural, come from a highly researched and standardized company such as Nature's Sunshine Products based in the United States of America. They are world wide, so that is not too much of an issue.
I have used many different things over the years and this is the ONLY company that I can FEEL the difference with.
I find that any other suppliment, even with them supposedly being "natural", they do not even come close to being as effective as NSP's ones...4 to 1 in my opinion.
I say this because I could swallow all the pills I ever could handle from the drug store/vitamin store and not get anything from it. I can take ONE pill from NSP and start to FEEL the improvements...by the time I take the 4th one for the day and get up the next morning, my pain is gone or my issue is better, etc.
The colour of the urine is simply the body dumping out what it doesnt want.
If you need a vitamin, you know...as long as it is a GOOD vitamin suppliment/herb suppliment.
Check out NSP's site. It is the only one I will use for the past 20 years now...I have tried the odd bottle of things here and there when I could not place an order...not worth it.

Question: What is a good multivitamin for women that is very easy to swallow? I've been looking for a women's multivitamin that is easy to swallow. I'd prefer not to take it in powder or liquid form. I would be willing to take a chew tablet. I want a vitamin that is organic and doesn't contain perservatives and additives. Thank you!
Answer: I took a product called "All-One" several years back. They have several varieties. The store owner, a vegetarian, suggested it and I had a lot of success in taking it. It was during a time in my life that my digestive system wasn't working very well, among other health problems. I needed something easily assimilated by the body, and easy to take. I mixed it with a small amount of pineapple juice every morning around 10:00 a.m. (but you can take it whenever), and I could tell a HUGE difference when I didn't take it.
I know you said you weren't particularly looking for a powder, but this is a really good product that I think would give you good results. I am very picky about the vitamins and supplements that I take, and haven't come across a good chewable. I use a lot of Nature's Sunshine products. They do have a children's chewable, but I've never purchased it. We do not buy cheap vitamins at Wal-Mart, because they just aren't very effective and at times are not in a form the body can absorb or even use effectively.
Also, I know there is conflicting information about Mona Vie, but I really like that product. My husband & I are not members, and so do not sell the product, but we enjoy using it when we can afford a bottle and notice a lot of good benefits from it. It's a juice, basically, and you take 1-2 ounces 2 times a day. It contains MANY nutrients, easily used and digested by the body, and it tastes good.

Question: What is in a multivitamin that causes an upset stomach? I know it's a common effect of taking a daily multivitamin if you don't take it with food, but what's in there that causes it?
Answer: Hmm...I'm not 100% sure what could cause an upset stomach, but I know the iron in daily vitamins often causes stomach cramps and constipation.
Hope that helped!
Question: Can anyone recommend a multivitamin that contains very little or no vitamin A? I am taking Soriatane for psoriasis, and it's working really well. I stopped taking my regular multivitamin in the fall, because Soriatane is vitamin A, and combined with the vitamin A in a multivitamin would be too much. I'm feeling run down and catching cold a lot...I can't find any multivitamin that doesn't have vitamin A.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
Answer: try pre-natal vitamins, im pretty sure pregnant women arent supposed to have a lot of vitamin A, so theres prob. none in them (maybe very little idk)
If you cant find a multi vitamin just try taking lots of vit. C for your immune system.
Good Luck!
Question: What are some top rated multivitamin for small breed dogs? For some odd reason, my dog likes to eat every other day so I want to give him a top rated multivitamin to make up for those days he doesn't care to eat.
Alesi's Chi's she's eating taste of the wild but she doesn't like to eat every day. That's why I want to give her a vitamin.
Answer: I'd be less concerned about vitamins and more concerned about hypoglycemia. If your dog is eating a top quality diet, there shouldn't be a need for any vitamins
Question: What is the best dog daily multivitamin? I have a 3 year shihtzu and i want to buy the best multivitamin with antioxidant for her, what should i buy?

Question: What is a good multivitamin and lotion for skin health/elasticity? I will be going on a diet soon and want to know of a good multivitamin and lotion to use for healthy skin? With an emphasis on skin elasticity because I will be losing weight and would like to avoid saggy/loose skin. I'm currently using cocoa butter lotion with vitamin E, but I also read that Vitamin A is good too. Is there some kind of lotion I can get with all 3? And what about a multivitamin?
Answer: organic coconut and emu oil are great.
cocoa and shea butter are good..make sure it is good quality..not like the stuff they sell in store..with tons of chemicals.
All can be mixed..I use emu and tea tree on my face along with organic oils.
and a mix of coconut oil and raw shea butter on my body.
Question: What is a good multivitamin for a 27 year old female? I'm 27 and in good health but trying to find a good multivitamin. Right now I take a CVS brand multivitamin but wasn't sure if anyone has heard of a certain brand that is better.
Answer: GNC Multivitamin for Women w/iron. I love them. Cost a little more but they are great. When I started taking them my hair and nails started growing like crazy. I have really bad PMS and can even tell a difference in my food cravings. I will never take any other kind. I am 35 and extremely active (run, hike, bike) Try them...its worth it.
Question: Has anyone else felt more fatigued during the day after taking a multivitamin in the morning? I just want to know if others have had the same experience, or close to it. At this point I'm not taking any vitamins. I've been nagged by friends and family to take a multivitamin to combat fatigue. In the past I've taken multivitamins in the morning hoping to feel some kind of benefit during the day. I feel okay if and when I take B-complex vitamins alone, but if I take a multivitamin instead of B-complex vitamins I feel tired and my stomach aches.
Answer: NO
Question: Will a multivitamin be sufficient to replace lost nutrients in a vegetarian/vegan diet? I'm trying to go vegetarian (or if possible, vegan) but I'm worried about nutrient loss. I know you can get all sorts of vegan foods such as soy milk and tofu that replace the nutrients found in meat, but I'm almost too lazy to check every single thing I eat for sufficient nutrients (or let food rule my life that much). Will simply taking a multivitamin be sufficient?
Answer: You will hear a lot of "you don't need to have a vitamin if you eat a proper vegetarian diet" and this is quite correct, but I still take them like I always have... for the reason that in a single multi-vit. there is nothing that you will get an excess amount of that your body will not just flush out if it needs to... the way I look at it.. I may be a waste of money... but so what, If I go on a kick of eating something that strays for a day or two in the nutrient area... I haven't lost anything because I still have my back up.
