Plus all the touching was weird, (I have anxiety issues) so I was freaking out as the guy was doing my nails and he almost slipped with the drill!
Question: Why do so many women think guys care one whit about their nails? Every so often there's a question on YA on what nail polish color guys like or what kind of nails guys like.
I have NEVER, EVER been with a group of guys somewhere and heard the phrase "Wow, check out the sexy nails on HER!"
Ladies, guys don't care about nails unless they are abnormally long then they may find them a put off or some guys may have a weird fetish, but those guys are few and far between.
Answer: so u dont care? i paid $42 to get my nails done earlier this week:[[[
Question: What do you do to take care of your nails and cuticles? I have the ugliest cuticles (the skin around the nails). I would really like to get them looking better but I don't know what to try. They are dry and I frequently get hang nails and such. What do you do to take care of your nails and cuticles?
Answer: there is cuticle oil, & thats just oil that softens it. Then if you do apply that, get a cuticle tool. it looks kinda lika small v at the end of it to scrape the cuticles off.
this works very well, just try and get the right tool.
Also the scraper, some people use it to take hang nails off.
Question: How can i convince my mom i can take care of acrylic nails and should get them? I am 12 and a lot of people i know have acrylic nails. I really want them but where i live they are 30$ and my mom isn't so sure i can take care of them, but i know i can. How can i convince her to let me get them?
Answer: You really shouldn't get those. They ruin your nails. Your mom probably knows that and won't let you get them because of that.
Just go to Walmart and get those fake nails in the little packages. Those are FAR less damaging. I have used them before and they last about a week and only cost about $5.

Question: What is a good regimen to take care of your natural nails and cuticales? I just have never really did much with my hands other put lotion on them to take care of them. I my nails short and no polish because I hate to wear anthing on my hands even nice rings! I was just wondering what do people who really take care of there cuticules and nails to keep them really nice and keep their natural nails? Thanks :)
Answer: Keep them trimmed, and file them from corner to center to avoid breaks. Never cut you cuticles, that is the sure way to make them bigger and get a bad infection.
You can do this 2 o 3 times per week: pour some almond or olive oil in a little container, heat it in the microwave for 15 seconds and soak your nails for around 15 minutes, give a nice massage to you cuticles.
You can do this when you're doing nothing, like watching tv or something.
This is a litte and cheap trick that will keep the moist and health of your nails.
Question: How do i take care of my normasl nails and make them be good looking? I am 17 years old, i don like to put fake nails, how do i take care of my real ones!
Answer: I'll tell you how I look after mine..always keep them clean and well filed into shape. Never cut them with scissors..only ever file them nicely. If you find it hard to get a good shape, go to a salon and they will make a nice shape for you, which can either be oval or square. Soak your nails in warm water with a few dashes of lemon juice. The lemon will keep your nails from ever turning yellow. After that, massage some cutile oil around your nails, to make the skin soft. If you can't find oil or don't like it, just use a nice handcream..it'll do the same thing. After that, apply a good nail hardening treatment, like Sally Hansen or OPI. This will give your nails a protective barrier and also make them stronger over time. Then, if you like, you can apply a color polish on top. As you are now 17, you are old enough to wear colour but wear nice light young colors like baby pink or pearl..I think you may be a little too young to go for deep reds and dark cherry colors. After a week has passed, remove all nail polish and repeat the weekly treatment of soaking, re-shaping and applying moisteriser. I know it sounds like hard work, but once you get into a weekly routine for your nails, you'll enjoy doing it and seeing how beautiful your nails become. I'll never return to fake acrylic nails ever again now that my own are so nice. Think of it as a special weekly treat. Also- by doing it at home yourself, you'll save loads of money. Good luck! Question: How to take care of my long nails? How to take care of my long nails?
Answer: You should clean it regularly and when you lift the weight take care of it
Question: How do you care for new acrylic nails? I just got new acrylic nails, and need some tips on caring for them.
I've heard about oiling nails twice a day - what is this, and where can i buy the oil?
What is lift?
How often do I have to return to the salon for maintanence? How do I know when to return?
Can I change the polish at home? Can I use normal nail polish remover?
And how do I prevent the fungus/mildew from growing under my nails?
Thanks :D
Answer: Hey - I've had acrylics, gels and silks...so maybe I can help.
The oil is more for cuticle health than artificial nail maintanence. If your cuticles look healthy (not ragged) then it will enhance the overall nail look. I use Nailtiques Oil Therapy. It's about $6, and you can get it at nail places and sometimes drug stores (I got mine at CVS). I use it once a day...and my boyfriend makes fun of me ("can't you just use your regular lotion??" men don't get it! haha). Plus it smells yummy.
"Lifting" can happen when the nails are long and you use your hands too much - it hurts like hell sometimes. Just be really cognizant of everything you do - everything from carrying heavy bags to closing your trunk (trust me, I have painful experience). The nails might break off, which is sometimes a blessing in disguise b/c you don't want to have your natural nail ripped off. I sometimes use a little tiny dap of super glue to stick on the broken nail. Then use a buffer to smooth it out and put on a coat of clear. Keeping the nails shorter will help greatly to reduce any painful lifting.
You should go back every 1 1/2 - 2 weeks for a fill. Depends on how fast your nails grow out - but you'll notice the space and want to have it taken care of!
You can change the color at home if you want, but make sure to use NON ACETONE remover. Acetone based removers will take off polish - but can also take off the nail. Granted, the acetone in polish remover you get at the drug store is less concentrated than the stuff they use in salons to remove nails, but it can compromise the nail's quality. Most non-acetone removers will say something about being "suitable for acrylic nails."
Infections can be a problem for some people. Sometimes the natural nail will become weakened from having the fake nails on, then the fake nail starts to separate away from the natural nail. Water then gets trapped in that space, and it's bad. That is why it's important to get them filled regularly. Make sure you go to a clean place b/c you don't want them touching you with dirty stuff, but chances are a nicer place will be able to recognize a problem should one arise and advise you on what to do.
I know that's a lot, but don't be intimidated. As long as you keep an eye on them, and don't over use your nails, they will look sexy as heck! I love having nice nails - but try keeping them a little on the shorter side b/c it will make things like typing easier and they'll be less prone to break!
Question: How do u care for acrylic nails? ok so today i went 2 wal-mart & got my nails done wit sum christmas money i was wondering how do u care for them

Question: Do you take care of your finger or toe nails? I use cutters sometimes and file also to make them smooth.
But I have a habit of biting the finger nails and using one nail against the other. Do you care how they look or do you just bite 'em?
Answer: I used to bite my fingernails, but now I clip them.
If I have enough money I get mani-pedis. They get my nails just right!
Question: Men: If a girl is pretty, do you really care what her nails look like? I get compliments on my looks, I'm in good shape, and I wear feminine clothes and fix my hair. But I can really care less about my nails. I'm an active outdoorish kind of person, so keeping them long and groomed is a waste of time. I just keep them short and plain as any guy's, or they'll get dirty and break off. Why does a man care what a girls' nails look like anyway? Why does anyone? I think it's so stupid when girls waste so much time on their nails, especially when the rest of them looks like they just got out of bed. Well that's just my opinion.
OK I'm sorry that came off kind of cocky, what I'm trying to ask is when it comes to looks, why do girls focus so much on nails?
Answer: I dun care about the nailz!! itz not like u gonna do anything wif them!!!
Question: What is the best way to care for natural nails.? I use to have a terrible habit of bitting my nails, so I would where artificial nails. I would really like to just have healthy natural nails. What is the best way to encourage my nails to grow, now that I no longer bite them or where artifical nail tips.
Answer: I am 40 years old and have never worn artificial nails. But I have received compliments on my hands since I was in high school. I am a firm believer in regular manicures-every week or every other week at least. You are worth it! You hands will look great, and it is very relaxing, too. When your nails are neatly manicured, you are less likely to bite them, and it gives you nails a chance to grow out healthily. Also, if your nails are week, try Nail Tek II. It really helps. One more thing, keep a good hand cream by your bed and slather on a generous amount before bed to keep your hands, nails, and cuticles hydrated daily. Good Luck!
Question: How do you care for your nails to look best? What do YOU do to help keep your nails in MINT CONDITION?
Answer: I bought this really nifty nail file/nail buffer thing at Sally Hansen. It's a long rectangle block. One side has a standard nail file that you file the entire surface of the nail with, then a smoothing side (a really fine grain file) that you run over the nails after you file, then finally a buffing surface to buff over the entire nail to smooth it. Afterwards I rub some nourishing cuticle oil on my nails and cuticles, then top that all with a nail strengthening top coat.
I know it doesn't seem like much, but it keeps my nails looking glamorous, like I go to the salon daily!
