Question: Nails......................? well i had prom the other day so i got acrylic nails...
i took them off 2day and now my nails are all thin and flaky
how long will it take for them to recover?
also Iam trying to grow my nails i usually bite them but want to stop so how long so you think they will take to grow
i have tryed before but they are just all thin and break and tips?
Thanks :)
Answer: With the weak nails, wearing lots of nail polish strengthens them. And there are special nail polishes that strengthens them. You can get them from a drug store like Shoppers. It usually takes maybe 1 week to grow them it depends who you are though. If you want to stop biting your nails I suggest using mavala stop. It really works.
Hope this helps!

i think u guys didnt get my question my question is What kind of nail color or french should i get on my nails cuz im goin to the salon tomorrow n i want something different cuz i grew my nails for it for the past 2 weeks
Answer: Well first lets start with your nail biting. My little sister used to always bite her nails and she wanted to break her habit soooo badly. So we went to Frys and there is this product in the medicine department for people who bite their nails called "Controll It ". I know it's kind of embarrassing but purchase the product and paint it on your nails like its nail polish. Paint every other day for about 2 weeks and hopefully it will teach you your lesson. What it does is it has a disgusting taste so when you stick your nail in your mouth(or thumb) you will take it out. It really worked on my sister and will hopefully work on you too.
This summer, bold and bright nail colors are in.

So try oranges, bright reds, hot pinks, lime green, and even yellow for gorgeous bright instyle nails.
Question: How many nails is a dog supposed to have? We were cutting my chihuahua's nails for the first time and noticed her front two paws have the normal 5 nails on each front paw (the four plus the thumb one) but her back paws don't have that thumb one - they only have 4 nails. So her front has 5 nails each but her back paws only have 4 nails each. Is that normal? Are dogs supposed to have 5 nails on each paw?
Answer: 'The thumb ones' are called dewclaws. Most dogs only have them on the front legs. Your dog is absolutely fine.
There are a few breeds that have additional dewclaws.

Question: How do I get my nails to grow more slowly? My finger nails grow super fast. I painted them last night, and I already have "nail roots". I have to paint my nails every other day to avoid this. (Nail roots are when new nail growth comes in while wearing nail polish. Like hair roots.) I have to cut my nails every few days, or else they get really long. It is scary how fast they grow. How do I get my nails to grow more slowly?
Answer: Keep them cut. Or constantly file them, so they stay a certain length...I have the same problem...Mine grow fast too.*
Question: How can i remove my acrylic nails with my natural nails with a mighty bond on it? I had a nail extension using artificial acrylic nails last saturday. I was not happy with the nail glue their using coz my nails always take-off easily. I decided to use a mighty bond thinking it will give me satisfaction of having no-galling-nails. But I suddenly realized that this mighty bond is not easy to remove. I was now panic on how can i remove my artificial nails with this mighty glue on my natural nails. Please help me.
Answer: Go to Sally's beauty supply or your local supply store and purchase acrylic remover. You can also purchase pure acetone. Be sure to use a glass bowl. Soak 4 fingers at a time. Get an orangewood stick to so you can scrap the acrylic when it gets gummy. It will be messy but it won't take to long. Once you get down to your own nail, take a white buffing block and gently buff off the remaining residue. Apply a clear nail hardener. I've tried the soaking with the cotton balls but its takes longer and I don't like the idea of it being wrapped under foil. The acetone needs to breath because the vapors can be toxic if there isn't enough ventilation.
Question: How long should my natural nails be before getting acrylic nails put on? My nails are super short. (i mean really really short). I'm a bad nail biter. And I'm going to the sports banquet for my school this week and also my graduation next week. I want my nails to look really nice and pretty, but idk if i can get acrylic nails beacuse my natural nails are soooo short.
Also, how long will acrylic nails last?
Answer: Your real nail should be really short before you put on fake nails. I mean really, really short, lolz!!!! Here are some tips on how not to bite your fingernails:
1.Hold on to a small object, such as a stone or ball, to keep your hands busy and out of your mouth
2. Coat your nail with a special bad-tasting polish, available at the drugstore.
3. Set up a reward system. Use a calender to keep track of how many days you go without giving in to your habit, and give yourself a treat if you meet your goal.
Fake nails usually last about 2 weeks (less if you keep playing with them). Just be sure you follow those rules on how not to bite your nail and trust me... you'll be fine. ( I was a big nail biter.. but now i'm not cause of those 3 easy steps!!!!!!!!)
Hope I helped:)
Question: Nail Care: How do you make your nails grow faster and stronger? I have been bitting my nails for a while and im finally done hiding my hands all the time, i have really bad skin under my nails and its like gross and i hide my hands all the time. I have a boyfriend and im insecure to hold hands with him. I am 16 and im done with being shy and nervous about my hands, whenever it gets brought up i change the topic so quick.
I need advise on how to make them grow, thank you guys.
Answer: There are some clear nail polishes that are made to make your nails grow faster and protect them. If you have bad skin under your nails and it looks like an infection I would go see a Dr.
Question: How long do my nails need to be to get a good manicure? I used to bite my nails. I finally stopped about a year ago, and my nails took forever to get strong and long. Now that I have strong nails, I want to reward myself by getting a manicure (not fake nails, though). How long do my nails have to be for that? And what is a good price? What if my cuticles aren't the best?
Answer: I don't think your nails have to be a certain length. Don't worry about your cuticles, the staff will have seen worse. If you feel self-conscious invest in a cuticle cream. As for price, it depends. Generally manicures are cheapest if you have it done without polish. I'd suggest you ask friends and relatives if they know of a good salon or look up the Yellow Pages and ring round a few if you've time.
Question: When I bite my nails, I notice people around me start to bite their nails to. Why is this? I'm 18 years old and a habitual nail biter. I've been biting my nails since 4 years old. I've noticed when I'm around people, I bite my nails (subconsciously). The funny thing is I've noticed that people around me start to chew on their nails to. Is their a term for this or is it just random?
Answer: Maybe it's contagious, just like yawning. I've tried it out myself - sat in a room and yawned, all of a sudden everyone else was yawning and I thought "What the hell?!" I guess it's one of these mysteries in life.
Question: How do you remove fake nails stuck on with glue? im planning to wear a very decorative set of fake nails to my prom. most people say that they can be easily removed if you dip them in acetone, but apparently this melts off the nail.
the fake nails that i have bought were around $70-80 and have alot of diamantes and decorations stuck onto them.
what is a good way to remove them without damaging the fake nails, as well as not ruining my natural nails?
Answer: Once you put the glue which sticks the fake nails on you have already harmed your nails. Glue is so bad for your nails it drys them out and is hard to get off. But to get the fake nails off boil hot water and when it gets hot/warm enough for you put your hand in leave it in there for 2-3 minutes then take it out and remove the nails.
Question: What nail oil brand would I use under false nails, and where do I get it? A professional nail technician on this board answered my question about avoiding brittle, tearing nails after taking false nails off, by suggesting nail oil. Would anyone know what brand of nail oil I should use, and how it should be applied?
Answer: Burt's Bees lemon butter cuticle cream is a fantastic "nail oil" it helps seal the cuticles, and strenghthens your actual nail. It's about $5, and you just basically scoop a little from the container and apply it to your cuticles and nails before bed... I also apply it sometimes throughout the day because it is not actually "oily" at all. You'll LOVE it, and it lasts forever. You can try burtsbees.com, or any local drug store that carries burts bees :)
Question: What kind of condition do your nails need to be in before getting gel nails apllied? What kind of condition do your nails need to be in before getting gel nails applied??? My cuticles are in pretty good shape, but a few of my nails are shorter.... Im not much of a nail expert so im looking for some great advice! Thanks so much!
Answer: You only need to make sure that you don't have any nail infections of your own natural nails, otherwise you can have gel nails applied. Keep in mind that gel nails cannot be removed at home on your own. If your nails are uneven in length, you can have tips applied to make them all the same length.
Question: How can improve my nails and the skin around them? I try not to chew my nails but when I do I chew the skin around them I don't do it often just when I'm very nervous. I use stuff that tastes nasty on my nails and I take a hair, skin and nails supplement but my nails and the skin around them look horrible.
Help!
Answer: get manicures regularly. I get mine done every 1-2 weeks & my nails are much stronger than they used to me. my skin is always baby soft afterwards.. plus the nails looks great =)
Question: How to prevent my nails from having the split on each side of my nails? Okay. I have noticed that every time I am trying to grow my finger nails a little longer I am always having splits on each side of both of my nails which are my thumbs and its always leading me to be tempted to either cut or tear them off. What is there reason why that you get splits on the side of your nails in the first place?
Answer: Filing nails can actually make them more prone to breaking, so if you do file them, make sure the filing is only going in one direction (as in don't go back and forth like a saw).
Spliting can be caused for a number of reasons, like weak nails. Try using nail polish or some kind of nail strengthener.
Question: Why does nail polish get little bubbles in it when drying on my nails? My nail polish on my nails does this after applying the second coat and it dries with little bubbles and isnt smooth. Why does it do this, and how can I prevent it?
Answer: The nail polish bubbles because you haven't waited long enough for the first coat to dry, your polish is old, or it's formula is bad. To prevent the bubbles from forming, don't shake your bottle, roll it between your palms. Then when it's all incorporated, apply a thin layer of polish (you can always go back and add more layers if you want to build up the color.) Wait for this layer to dry. When it is dry to the touch or you feel it is done, paint your second layer and once again wait for this to dry. If you need a third or fourth layer, I suggest waiting even more time than you did with the first coat because you now have more polish on your nail, which takes longer to dry.
