Nutrients Your Body Needs
Question: Are there specific nutrients that your body needs that can only be found in beef? I'm trying to be a vegetarian but people keep telling me that beef has nutrients that I can't get anywhere else.
Answer: No.
If there were needed nutrients only found in beef, I wouldn't be alive. I've been living without cow muscle for 15 years now. I like saying that. :)

Question: How can you get the vitamins and nutrients your body needs without eating? PLEASE:
* Do not be critical, you don't know what I'm dealing with.
* Do not tell me I'm going to die. I know you obviously can die from not eating, but it's not that sever and will not get to that point.
* Do not call me stupid and say this is a bad idea, I'm clearly interested in staying healthy, I just haven't been able to eat for the past 5 days.
I am not planning on keeping this up. I am going through a very difficult time and have no desire to eat whatsoever. It will pass soon. I just want to know what I can drink or some vitamins I can take to keep me energetic and somewhat healthy until I'm well enough to eat again.
I am also concerned about weight loss. I don't want people to start noticing and saying things that are untrue about my weight loss. So if this continues for lets say about a month, (eating some food obviously, just a very small amount) how much weight would a person generally lose?
I'm not doing this for the purpose of losing weight, but I would like to know how I can keep the weight off afterwards, because I know the body stores any fat intake while the body is in starvation mode, which mine currently is I believe. Would I have to slowly start eating again, eating things with next to no fat, such as celery and watermelon?
It would also be very helpful if you tell me your resource. I want accurate information. Ideally, it would be wonderful to receive an answer from an actual doctor.
Thanks.
Answer: You don't need any SOLID food. Drink fruit juice, milk, coconut milk, any liquid you can find in the grocery store (...well, not in the cleaning products section...) I would take a fiber supplement too, and a vitamin. You can even blend vegetables and fruit into a drinkable shake, and drink raw eggs in milkshakes. This is probably not a bad diet actually. Not necessarily even starvation mode.
Question: If cigarette contain every nutrients your body need but will cause lung cancer? Will ministry of health encourage people to quit smoking?
Answer: What kind of nutrients that can cause cancer? Btw, the ministry will be stupid enough not to encourage people to quit smoking when it can give you cancer. They are many things out there to get every nutrient that body needs. e.g fruits, milk, rice etc..
Question: Is it possible to get all the nutrients my body needs w/o taking a daily multi-vitamin? In an attempt to sell their multi-vitamins, my gym's employees frequently claim that you no matter how well you eat throughout the day your body still needs supplements to get all that it needs. That true?
Answer: In theory it is certainly possible but in practice it is very hard to get all the nutrients you need from a normal healthy diet so a multivitamin every day is a good supplement to take.
Question: Is it "okay" to starve yourself as long as you intake enough nutrients for your body? My doctor says I'm overweight for the average Asian girl. I'm 16, 5 feet and 1 inch and 128 pounds. I've noticed that I gain an average of 10 pounds per year, and this has been starting since middle school. IS THIS NORMAL? I've read many articles on how your body needs enough nutrients so you shouldn't starve yourself. But what if you DO get enough nutrients? Is it still healthy to consume the minimum amount as long as you have the essential nutrients in your body?
Answer: NO!!!!
DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF!
You'll make it harder to lose weight. Your body will start to slow down it's metabolic rate. Being you won't lose anything!
Eat regularly, and properly and exercise regularly.
Do exercises like running or cycling which get your heart rate at about 70-80% maximum capacity.
Remember maximum heart rate= 220-age.
Question: How do you know if you're getting all of the food nutrients in your body that you need? how do you know if you're eating right and getting all of the nutrients you need to keep you healthy?
Answer: find the AMA site and compute it.

D) beef tacos with sour cream and cheddar cheese, refried beans, rice
Answer: B) broiled fish, steamed carrots, brown and wild rice
Question: When You Eat Nutritious Foods How Much Of Those Nutrients Does Your Body Actually Retain? I was looking at the box of Multi-Grain Cheerioes(Yum) and remember reading somewhere that fiber interferes with the absorption of iron in your body. A serving of Multi-Grain Cherrios apparently obliterates your daily need for a surprisingly large number nutrients(100% DVs Everywhere) but-thinking back to iron blocking dietary fiber- how much are you actually getting?
Answer: Thank you for asking this question. I have asked many manufacturers, including vitamin companies, cereal companies, etc. for this information and have never, ever gotten a response. So I did my own research and have found many things out.
In regard to your Multi-grain cheerioes, those are really bad for you in many ways. First, the grains are not soaked, so they contain huge amounts of phytic acid that binds to all your minerals and depletes your body of those minerals as a result. Secondly, the grains are heated to about 350 degrees and this alters the proteins and kills all the enzymes and destroys all the vitamins in the grains. The minerals are altered slightly too, but still remain, if there is any in there. The soils they grow the grains on are typically very depleted of any minerals. Any corn, soy, cottonseed, or canola oils that are in there are all genetically modified and create lots of homocystein responses from your body. The proteins of genetically modified soy have in a big number of cases started mutating from what they were when they were first made and these are foreign to the body and causing all kinds of problems (asthma, colitis, IBS, etc., etc.). Most likely you have High Fructose Corn Syrup in the junk and that my friend is now being investigated for the cause of the Bee's dying all over the U.S. The reason for this is that when you heat high fructose corn syrup over 120 degrees F, it forms a poison that scientists now believe are killing the bees and causing OBESITY in humans! The so called "fortified with vitamins" thing are not vitamins at all. They are synthetic chemical activators (pretending to be vitamins) and are damaging your DNA, according the the extensive research done by Dr. Fritz Albert Popp of Germany that did quantum physics experiments showing light emissions from chemical activators were NOT cellular resonant with the human body.
Most of the oats are GMO and I would not eat that or give it to my worst enemy. If you have bought the product because of the INDOCTRINATION you have been subjected to by the Cereal marketing gurus, get educated and learn what is good for you; and it is NOT what you are hearing on T.V.
good luck to you
Question: What nutrients/vitamins does meat give you that your body needs? Do we need meat in our diets to be healthy?..? I have been thinking for a while of becoming a vegetarian (still drinking milk and eating eggs). But I have heard both being a veg is healthy and that being a veg is not. Health is very important to me. I am 18 going to school I have litlle $ to spend on food. Also I don't really know how to cook well. Like I eat a lot of healthy choice dinners, lean cuisine etc.
This is something I want to do. What should I be eating as a substitue for meat? I have tried morningstar farms and boca and like them. But what else can give me the some nutrients meat does?

Also if you are a vegetarian did you have trouble w/ it at first? Did you feel better and have more energy after 5 or 6 days?
Answer: Anything you get from animal products [meat, eggs, dairy etc.] you can get from a balanced vegan / vegetarian diet. The only supplement vegans in particular cannot get from their diet is b12, something that is only found in meat, although you can take a supplement. Vegans obtain calcium from leafy greens, protein from beans etc.

and it doesn't quench you thirst it makes you thirstier
Question: true that if you like to eat some kind of food, then your body actually need some nutrients...? ...in that food?
in my culture, it is said that if you like to eat some kind of food, then your body actually need some nutrients or ingredients in that food. i wonder if this is also said to be true in other culture?
for example, if a person likes to eat orange but not apple, then it may be orange contains some nutrients that the person need especially. the same goes with beef versus pork, and so forth.
having said that, for sure it is better if it is natural food. sometimes we like to drink soda, but it is because we really need sugar at that moment. but if it is too artificial, i think it will affect our insulin level and have insulin resistant syndrome.
Answer: How Your Body Gets Nutrients from Foods
Eating a wide range of foods that include a variety of nutrients is the easiest way to have a healthy diet.
On this page, you'll learn why your body needs each of the following nutrients, and which foods you'll find them in:
* Proteins
* Carbohydrates
* Fats
* Vitamins and minerals
* Water
Proteins give your body amino acids — the building blocks that help your body's cells do all of their everyday activities. Proteins help your body build new cells, repair old cells, create hormones and enzymes, and keep your immune system healthy. If you don't have enough protein, your body takes longer to recover from illness and you're more likely to get sick in the first place.

Carbohydrates give your body a little more than half of the calories it needs to function each day. Carbohydrates give you quick energy — which is why you hear about athletes "carbo loading" before a big event. They're fueling their bodies for the challenge to come.
Fruits, vegetables, bread, pasta, grains, cereal products, crackers, dried beans, peas, and lentils are all good sources of carbohydrates. Many of them are also good sources of fiber, which your digestive system needs to stay healthy.

Fats give your body the fatty acids it needs to grow and to produce new cells and hormones. Fat also helps some vitamins move through your body. Vitamins A, D, E, and K are fat-soluble vitamins, which means they need some fat to be absorbed. They are also stored in the fatty tissues in your body and the liver. Fat also helps protect your organs against trauma. Your body stores excess calories as fat, which is saved up as reserve energy
Vitamins and minerals: Vitamins keep your bones strong, your vision clear and sharp, and your skin, nails, and hair healthy and glowing. Vitamins also help your body use energy from the food you eat.
Minerals are chemical elements that help regulate your body's processes. Potassium, for example, helps your nerves and muscles function. Calcium helps your teeth and bones stay strong. Iron carries oxygen to your cells.
Water is necessary for life, which makes it vital for good health. Water makes up about 50% to 66% of your total body weight. It regulates your temperature, moves nutrients through your body, and gets rid of waste. Breast cancer treatment can sometimes cause diarrhea or vomiting. Losing a lot of fluids plus the chemicals and minerals they contain can lead to dehydration.
Question: Should i regularly check if my body has all the nutrients if i go vegetarian? I wanned to know how the test that shows how if your body gets all needed nutrients is called and how often should you make it if you decide to go vegetarian.
Answer: You can go for the expensive tests, but to be honest, they're really just a snapshot of whats in your bloodstream that day, and not much of a measure long term.
If you want to know how vegetarianism is affecting your health - try it for a few weeks and then check out your skin, hair, nails and teeth/gums.
They're the best measure of your general health, and I can promise you, after a few weeks being veggie, you notice that they look much healthier!
Question: Is it safe to be on a liquid diet for your entire life? (assuming that you are getting all the nutrients your? body needs via liquids). If so, would that eliminate the need to remove solid waste - since the only thing you are putting in your body is liquids?
In reality, I found out that the body needs to have ruffage (solid material) in order to curtail incidence of colon cancer.
Hmm, after doing some research I'm thinking maybe I should pursue a second career as a medical doctor...however, damm, I guess I'll end up being the oldest medical student and doctor to have ever lived!
Answer: No, you need fibre, and only solid foods have that.
