Omega 3 Fatty Acid
Question: Can you take birth control while taking Omega 3 fatty acid pills? Ok I heard that omega 3 fatty acid pills can make you healthier to be able to conceive but I was also going to take birth control to regulate my period. We're not trying to conceive again yet but the first time it didn't happen so I figured this was the problem. So my question is can you take the fatty acid pills while taking birth control.
Answer: Yes, you can take both, they do not interact with each other. Omega-3 pills are simply another supplement, like taking vitamin c.

Question: Do you smell fish within yourself right after you take omega 3 fatty acid supplements? You know what I mean? It's deeper than just in my mouth, it feels like the "fishy" aftertaste-smell is coming from something deeper than by throat but higher than my lower stomach. Probably from my organ the stomach?
Is it just my brand of omega 3 fatty acid? cause I haven't tried other brands and I'd like to know what you guys' experience with omega 3 fatty acids are and what brand you take thanks!
Answer: Nooo! I just ran out of mine :[
Question: Can deficiency of carbohydrates lead to the deficiency of omega 3 fatty acid if yes then why? What are the causes of omega 3 fatty acid deficiency in humans
Answer: You derive this from seeds, fish, and monounsaturated oils, such as Extra Virgin Olive oil, and Grapeseed oil.
People tend to want to eliminate fat from their diet, and they usually end up eliminating the good fats and oils in edition to the bad ones, so they are left being deficient in nutrients as a result of their limited knowledge of the human body, and its needs.
Question: Is omega 3 fatty acid the same as DHA? Is omega 3 fatty acid the same as DHA? Is it necessary to give my 3 year old this type of supplement if he doesn’t eat fish? (Please don’t tell me to ask the pediatrician.) thanks for your time.
Answer: Yes, it is !
By far, the best type of omega-3 fats are those found in fish. That's because the omega-3 in fish is high in two fatty acids crucial to human health, DHA and EPA.
These two fatty acids are pivotal in preventing heart disease, cancer, and many other diseases. The human brain is also highly dependent on DHA - low DHA levels have been linked to depression, schizophrenia, memory loss, and a higher risk of developing Alzheimer's.
Researchers are now also linking inadequate intake of these omega-3 fats in pregnant women to premature birth and low birth weight, and to hyperactivity in children.
So yes, unless he eats plenty of fish - give him some DHA, it will not hurt him, and may help him.
Hope this is what you were after.
Question: How often is omega 3 fatty acid prescribed for post partum depression? Did Brooke Shields take omega 3 or only paxil? Any information on how much she was aware of omega 3?
Answer: Omega 3 is a natural supplement.
It would not be given by prescription - only a recommendation.
Question: Is there an Omega-3 fatty acid pill that isn't made from animal products? I know flax seed oil pills exist, but the capsuals are made with animal gelatin.
Answer: Here is one that is suited for vegans and can be purchased in The U.S. Hope this helps:

Question: I read that grass is loaded with omega 3 fatty acid and that most so called "edible" vegetables lack it comple? tly! My question is, do you think that standard yard grass would be edible if I should cook it?
Vegetarians and vegans have really got to work hard to get their omega 3, the irony is, it's everywhere!
Oh, and the omega 3 tablets that you buy come from DEAD FISH, so, if you take them, you are only joining the ranks of the animals killers!
Answer: No. Btw although fish is the most common source of Omega 3, Flax seed is probably second. The oil comes in containers, but yes it's also in pill form.
Question: Is it possible to have an omega-3 fatty acid overdose? If it is, what are the symptoms?
Also, is it possible to get "omega-3 dependency"?
Answer: i dont hink so

Question: What should I eat first? Omega 3 fatty acid or multi-vitamins? At the moment, I'm taking Herbalife Omega-3 Fatty acid & Multi Vitamins. I know its silly but should I take the 2 pills together, or take the vitamins first then the Omega3 ??
Will it make a difference??
Answer: yes take the omega3 first because it'll suck up the vitamins, taking them both means that the vitamins extract faster and would dissolve faster even if you take it first, trust me
Question: Does omega 3 fatty acid contribute to breast size? I heard that omega 3 is deposited around the hip area(and guys tend to find large hips to be healthy looking and attractive)but what about the breasts? I was just wondering, because there are good types of fat and bad types and I'm curious to know which kind is stored in the breasts
can a diet high in omega 3 increase breast size for a developing female
Answer: I have not heard that but only the doctor told my husband to take fish oil pills to help him lose weight around his waist for he is pretty round.
I think that their are alot of benefits to taking fish oil pills.
Fish oil seems to support good circulation, brain health and good mood. Some individuals also report that it helps them feel satisfied so they don’t crave fatty foods. Perhaps their bodies were simply craving these healthy fats but the only convenient foods available to eat were those containing un-healthy fats.
Question: Vegans, how do you get your omega-3 fatty acid? I am a vegetarian... I think. I don't eat any meat. I only eat some fish like tuna, sardines and salmon once in a while. I heard a lot of stuff about the dangers of mercury in tuna. but If I decide to go vegan, where would I get Omega-3 from? Thanks.
Answer: You are not vegetarian. Tuna, sardines and salmon are animals, with feelings and the ability to feel pain. You cannot even imagine the pain a fish goes through, experiencing the decompression that comes from being yanked out of the depths of the ocean by a supertrawler.
The highest levels (per gram or millilitre) of Omega 3 found in any substance known to man, animal, vegetable or mineral, is the oil extracted from a special seed of the plant called Flax. Just run a search for Flaxseed oil on the web, and voila. You may also want to look into Safflower oil, and sunflower oil, although these have lower percentiles. Flaxseed oil has a rich nutty flavour, and is safe to consume pure and as a liquid, but it is highly susceptible to heat, so it must be kept refridgerated, and served cold. I like to add the smallest drizzle to my breakfast cereal in the morning. It's also very inexpensive compared to fish, will last longer it it's environment (so you can buy in bulk in confidence), and if you don't like the taste it is also available in capsules from the pharmacy, over the counter without prescription. Too easy.
A fish/bird eater is a piscovore. Spread the correct term.
Question: Whether fish oil capsules are better than Omega 3 fatty acid tablets ? Are there any other nutrients in Fish oil ? Why Solomon fish oil capsules are supposed to be better ?
Answer: I think you're missing the point. Most fish oil capsules contain omega-3 fatty acids, so it's impossible at this point to tell you which one is better. Here's how you can find out:
It's not the amount of fish oil you take - it's specifically how much docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) you get - these are the essential fatty acids that studies show are doing all the work in helping your body all over -- including lowering triglycerides, slowing hardening of the arteries, lowering blood pressure, and reducing risk of death, heart attack, dangerous abnormal heart rhythms, and strokes in people with heart disease.
Take a look at the fish oil studies below and see how much you want to get. Depending on how much I've eaten each day, I like 3-5g of fish oil a day, which equates to almost 1.5g DHA and .3g EPA each day. There are also prices sorted by the amount of EPA per dollar so that you can get a good deal on the important stuff and not some "empty" fish oil.
Question: HOw is unsaturated fat good for the body? Is Omega 3 fatty acid considered an unsaturated fat?
Answer: No fat is really "good" for the body, but unsaturated fats are better for you than saturated fats.
Unsaturated fats have double bonds between carbon atoms which produce kinks in the hydrocarbon chains. These kinks allow unsaturated fats to be liquids at room temperature.
More importantly, unsaturated fats won't solidfy on the walls of your arteries like saturated fats will. Consuming unsaturated fats instead of saturated ones will also lower cholesterol.
Omega 3 fatty acid is a polyunsaturated fat, meaning that it has more than one double bond in the hydrocarbon chain. So yes, it is a type of unsaturated fat.
Question: How does flaxseed oil, fish oil, and omega 3 fatty acid help burn fat quicker? I have some soft gel tablets I take along with drinking lots of water and doing high intensity cardio when I'm working out on a empty stomach so I can max out the fat that I want to burn. How does this work for the body (soft gels). Can you double your fat burn along with high intensity cardio when taking this supplement? How does it burn the fat also?
Answer: these are high density lipoproteins (fats also but good ones). these don't burn fats but help remove low density lipoproteins(bad cholesterol) from your system.
Question: Why are EPA and DHA called omega-3 fatty acid? Please also state your source(website). Thank you.
Answer: Fats are broken up into three families, and the poly-unsaturated family is further split into two groups:
* Saturated
* Mono-unsaturated
* Poly-unsaturated
* Omega 3
* Omega 6
It’s important to note that one family is not more important than another. The body uses different fats in different places depending on what it needs to do. For instance, poly-unsaturated fats are typically used by body parts that have the highest activity such as the brain and eyes. Each type of fat is vital to the body.
Foods in nature typically contain some combination of all three families of fats, and some foods contain more of one type then another. For example, avocados contain 28% saturated, 68% mono-unsaturated and 13% poly-unsaturated. Flax seeds are high in Omega 3 (63%) and sunflower seeds are high in Omega 6 (65%). Olives and nuts are typically high in the mono-unsaturated fats, and animal fat and coconut oil are high in saturated fats.
Essential fatty acids, or EFAs
Polyunsaturated fats are broken up into the Omega 6 family and the Omega 3 family. Each of these families has a “parent” fatty acid, also known as the essential fatty acids, or EFAs:
* Alph-linolenic acid (also called ALA or LNA) - the parent fatty acid in the Omega 3 family.
* Linoleic acid (LA) - the parent fatty acid in the Omega 6 family.
Technically, as long as the body has the parent fatty acid, the rest of the family can be made by the body. However, the body cannot make the parent fatty acids, thus the term, “essential fatty acids.” When you hear the word “essential” in nutrition, it means the body can’t make it on its own and has to get it from an outside source.
